Hi pretty lady. So happy to see you post a food bankhaul. I owe you an apology. Well, not so much of an apology but a set the record straight. I commented last week on one of your videos and you took it the wrong way or maybe I didn't make myself clearer. I said I was sorry to see your successful channel change its content because most channels that do that seem to lose subscriptions. I never said I was going to unsubscribe. I didn't say I was sad because your channel was successful. I said I was sad because you might lose subscribers by changing your content and no longer doing pantry hauls. I am so sorry I didn't make myself clear. While I don't care for the product reviews I love your other content and I think you have a lovely family. God Bless
Thank you for letting me know that! I did take it the wrong way and thought you were giving me grief! I'm glad to see you and thank you for clearing the air! I'm sorry as well!
Hi Carolina! Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend and I just wanted to let you know that I love watching your videos and learning so many new things about food preservation. Only bad thing is that your voice is so soothing I catch myself falling asleep. 😮😊 Thanks for sharing your food bank hauls also. Even though you are in Montana and I’m in Ohio it seems we get a lot of similar items. Take care 😊😊😊
When I have extra onions I chop them and freeze flat on a baking sheet then put in a ziplock bag and back into the freezer. Then I throw them into soups, sauces, chili, gravy, and stir fry. Peppers also freeze well this way. I love the way you prep your food bank stuff right off the bat to avoid it going bad and going to waste. I’ve started forcing myself to do the same because I was having a lot of produce go bad. I have chickens and bunnies so it usually still ends up getting used but I try to have as little waste as possible. I got a pressure canner a couple years ago and still haven’t used it because it does feel intimidating. Maybe this garden season I’ll finally do it.
You did so good with those onions! One good thing to do with a jar of those picked onions would be to add them to a large jar of sweet pickled eggs. Maybe this spring if you get extra eggs from your hens? Oh my gosh, sooo good together.
Good morning my beautiful friend ❤I love purple (red) onions! I think a sweet relish with them would be amazing times 100! I Can't wait to hear how they turned out!
Hello! Becky from acre homestead just shared a couple of recipes using the chilpolte peppers in adbo. Also have a tip using the Naan bread. Make pizza lunchables for the kiddos lunch for school.
One year our local store had gingerbread houses on sale for $2.00. I bought some and make gingerbread crumbs same idea as graham cracker crumbs. Kids ate the candy at treat time and used the icing on other baking.
French onion soup, onion dip, dehydrate and blitz for onion powder freeze to add to soups, pasta, casseroles, stock, onion gravy (flour, butter, garlic, onion, beef stock/bullion, worchestershire sauce) serve on steak/sausages, chops (beef, pork or chicken), pickled onions, onion relish, onion jam....I could go on forever!!
It turned out well and set up good too. I used SureJell. I went to Wal-Mart and picked up 2 more cases of jelly jars (1 case half pints and 1 case quater size) so l can use up the rest of the apple juice.
Maybe I am the scaredy cat, but I am always so worried when I see you in socks or barefoot in the kitchen. My granny burnt her feet very very badly when she wore my grandpa's slippers barefoot, and she spilled hot oil on her feet. I burnt my whole tight with hot water, and no one wants to know the pain of burning. Please be careful and protect your feet! Love you darling! ❤
I understand that! We always had to wear closed toed shoes in the kitchen at work. I just like being barefoot! Haha. I'm a risk taker! Thank you so much for concern for me!!
They are loving it! Making friends and getting invited to bday parties, learning about all kinds of things, and enjoying being separated as well! It has gone so smooth!
The coffee extract is wonderful in any chocolate or cocoa based baking recipe. You can't taste the coffee, but it makes the chocolate flavor more intense.
I've spent my whole life hearing that tip and I want you to know that as a person who hates the taste or smell of coffee, I can taste it and smell it and consider that item ruined. Simple enough to skip any item I know it has been added to but absolutely disgusting to have a bite when people won't admit they added it because they think you are being "picky"
This onion relish is such a good recipe. I loved it and used it in salads and in sandwiches. I also made sweet onion mustard using them. I hope you try that out also later. As much as I love the kids, it is nice to see you video food prep and cooking without the interruptions.
Love you and your beautiful family. I love all your videos. I am now in a position I need help with food as my husband was arrested for domestic violence. So I love when you show how to use what you get at a food bank when I can find one. I would love to know the kids birthday so I can put it on my calender and send them a birthday gift also your birthday and husbands. I love your family. I love that you show what to do with the food you get from the food bank. You are such an amazing woman to take the time to share your knowledge. God bless you and your family and please keep the video's coming because you do not know how many people you help. I am subscribed to your youtube chanell and watch all your videos and you are a very humble and caring person. I started buying a lottery ticket every time I have an extra dollar and I have always said because you touch my heart so much I am going to buy you and your family a lot of land to homestead and have you a house built. I would love to be your neighbor I could learn so much from you like canning and all the things you do to perserve foodand it is amazing as to what I have learned what you can freeze. You are a blessing to so many people I tell ladies I meet now all about you and to watch your videos as I do when you go to the food bank and you come home and it is what do you do with what you do when you have no clue.God bless you.
I put up 6 half pints of Apple Cinnamon Jelly today using unsweetened apple juice l got from the food bank. Had to go to Walmart to pick up some more jelly jars so l can use up the rest of the bottle of juice. First time l have made jelly using juice.
How did it turn out? I've made graoe jelly from juice and it was really good! Just didn't set up quite as firm as store bought. But that could have been me. It was one of my first projects.
Red onions and red cabbage are reactive to ph. It is a good thing to explain pH to kids with. Vinegar and water = pink... baking soda and water darker purple or blue. I think mom and I are canning picked onions this weekend. I am going to salt, then use a bread and butter brine. I kinda want to try a batch with thyme sweet brine with some balsamic glaze to put on burgers. I know mom won't like that one tho.
Hi Carolina! I really enjoy your channel! I’m very curious….. would you be willing to show us all of your freezer, fridge, and pantry storage? It seems like you get so much and I’m curious how many months you have worth of groceries. You didn’t stay in the pantry challenge long which surprised me because I inferred that you had a ton of preserved , frozen, dehydrated items. I’m genuinely wondering what you do with these huge food hauls ❤How much frozen meat do you have?
The general rule is to have at least 3 months' worth of food stored up for emergency reasons! I do have a video coming of me organizing one of my cupboards, and you get to see some of my stock in it! So stay tuned!
Those are pita breads. Make some garlicky chicken (or any other meat you have an abundance of) pitas. The onions and lettuce and tomatoes. Yogurt cucumber sauce is easy and cheap.
Looks like a great hall! We received our box of can veggies. Macau, white rice. Another box of moldy, potatoes, carrots, onions. It was so horrible. I wish u would work wherever this stuff was packed. U would have tossed it! Don’t mean to complain but gosh it was awful! Only get abt every 5weeks. Feel sorry for families with children! Your stuff always looks so good! Have a great weekend.
My mom used to make my dad for his birthday every year a spice cake with coffee frosting and she used watkins extract the watkins man went door to door selling his stuff.

So glad you were able to go back! How are the kids doing ? You have all been in my thoughts.💜
Onion soup would be yummy!
The kids are doing so great! They love it!
Your onions look beautiful!! Great haul.

I love your food bank videos x
Thank you!
The "ping" of jars sealing is one of the best sounds ever! Makes me feel accomplished :-). Loved the video!

What a clever Idea! Thanks for sharing!
That's An Awesome Score at the food bank.. You are so fortunate ~You did just what I would have done to preserve those onions 🧅❤
I really am so lucky to have gotten all I did!
French onion soup, onion dip, dehydrate and blitz for onion powder freeze to add to soups, pasta, casseroles, stock, onion gravy (flour, butter, garlic, onion, beef stock/bullion, worchestershire sauce) serve on steak/sausages, chops (beef, pork or chicken), pickled onions, onion relish, onion jam....I could go on forever!!

I was going to say French onion soup! Yum!
Good evening please show us how to do picked onions ❤
The Naan bread makes awesome little pizzas.
You constantly teach and encorage me. Thank you!
I'm so glad!
Sour dough is best for diabetics if you want bread sometimes.
Red onion marmalade is lovely on a cheese sandwhich
It turned out well and set up good too. I used SureJell. I went to Wal-Mart and picked up 2 more cases of jelly jars (1 case half pints and 1 case quater size) so l can use up the rest of the apple juice.
Joined the Facebook group.
Look up recipes for pickled red onions, my son loves them!
Who says Chry only has to be in December. Why can't you just do winter with the Gingerbread houses , snowmen and coffee. Just do Christmas all winter.
Do some freezer uncrustables for the kids lunches and freeze. And use the crusts for bread crumbs.
Oh good thinking!
That is a wonderful idea for the onions! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
You Could have dehydrated them if you had a dehydrator
hello! love your channel.
I have a baby chick that hatched today and I named it Betty Jan. That name is so cute.
Maybe I am the scaredy cat, but I am always so worried when I see you in socks or barefoot in the kitchen. I e been going to my local food banks. I'm shocked how much food we have
Thanks for sharing your food bank haul... Great job with the onions.
Thank you!!

I was just wondering how your MIL is doing?
Thank you for all your posts!!
I'm sure she is good! Thank you!

How are the kiddos liking public school hopefully they are loving it
They are loving it! Making friends and getting invited to bday parties, learning about all kinds of things, and enjoying being separated as well! It has gone so smooth!
You could freeze dry the onions and chipotle peppers
Good thinking!
You inspire me a lot & you give me great ideas with things I have.
Pizza with the nan & if you like French onion soup that would be good too with onions the red onions make a sweeter taste.
Awesome! Thank you!
The coffee extract is wonderful in any chocolate or cocoa based baking recipe. You can't taste the coffee, but it makes the chocolate flavor more intense.

Pickled red onion goes good on Greek salad. That was just what popped in my mind when I saw the onion and lettuce
Oh good thinking! I haven't had a Greek salad in forever!
I had 20 pounds on onions. Onion soup
We cut pita bread into triangles, brush with olive oil and sea salt then bake to make pita chips. Better than store bought! Might work with your naan.
Sounds great!
Awwww, look at the cute pup at 11:35. Nice way to use up those onions!
He is a good boy!
Oh French onion soup it’s wonderful with red oniin
I'll give that a try next time!
Good job I have canned for 50 years and it is great those are all so great freeze dried
For the pita bread, I would use them for personal pizzas or to make chicken soft tacos!
Mmm...good ideas! Thanks!
This onion relish is such a good recipe. I loved it and used it in salads and in sandwiches. I also made sweet onion mustard using them. I hope you try that out also later. As much as I love the kids, it is nice to see you video food prep and cooking without the interruptions.
Oh thanks for the reminder of the mustard!
Thank you so very much super excited to try this thank u
You are welcome 😊
Just went to our monthly food bank and got a case of grapefruit. About 40. Been dehydrated some
Holy moly!! That's way too many grapefruit. Haha
Never have to much grapefruit. Make juice then freeze

I love pickled onion on top of avocado toast! It is my favorite thing to can.
Oh I bet that would be good!
Great video. I missed the beginning so I’m going back to watch. Your jars looked really nice.
Love 💕 and Hugs. ❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Just put the rice in with the salt. Any jar that is heat packed can be canning with. Just check for cracks and chips. Looks like great stuff 👌👍
Sounds great! Thank you!
Rice in salt is great on a shaker, not as easy in bulk. Try putting salt in a cheesecloth in your bulk salt
Grandma said just put it in the bottom of the jar ladies. She's 102, so I will yield to her judgement.

I would have frozen the onions
That onion relish looks amazing 😍 You have such sweet energy.
Thank you so much 🤗
Very nice haul. Love the canning. Wish I had one
A waterbather? You can use any tall stock pot if you have one!
thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
It is 5.23pm here in Australia
They was a good haul, it's crazy,I bought some red onion yesterday to make some pickled onions. And here you are today making some..😂😂❤️
Haha! Must be in the air! Haba
Hey honey maybe you can make french onion soup with the extra onions ❤
Great idea!!
pickled red onions? maybe
great ideas my friend
Thank you very much!
I love canning pickles red onions on my burgers and salads
Luv that big bag of red onions! Maybe make a caramelized onion confit that you can keep in the refrigerator to add flavor to...everything.
Oh good thinking!

Couldn't believe how easy it was for you to can. Would never have thought of something like that.
It really is easy! Especially water bathing!
Pickled purple onions would be amazing to have in the pantry
Agreed!
maybe you can dehydrate some of the onions

My daughters birthday is February 13th and mine is February 14th
How sweet! She must have the best bday present!
Put a slice a bread in with the canning salt. Picks up all the moisture.
Thank you! I thought that was just good with sugar.
yes dear lady, put the rice directly in to the salt. Just make sure you do not get the rice into your recipe
My daughters birthday is also Feb 13
Ah! Happy almost bday to her!
@@mamabairds thank you to your husband to
My mom used to make my dad for his birthday every year a spice cake with coffee frosting and she used watkins extract the watkins man went door to door selling his stuff.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing that story with me! I bet that would be a yummy cake!
Wow we don’t get stuff like that
