    Re eggs:
I recently found a local store which sells supplies and feed to people with tiny home gardens /chicken coops. Anyway, they stock and sell meat and eggs from more local farmers than my farmers market. Being local, they are fresher and cheaper than Vital Farms and you can even go visit the farms sometme to see how the chickens are actually pasture raised and see that their supplemental feed is actually certified organic or at least non-GMO. I recommend checking to see if there is a store like this in your city.
Also, the eggs at Whole Foods and most grocery stores are a scam and someone should start a class-action lawsuit IMO. Unless you get "pastured raised", you are better off buying eggs at Aldi or elsewhere for around 50¢ a dozen. All these "cage-free" and "free-range" and "vegetarian fed" (the worst) eggs are truly just marketing lies made to extort money and should be illegal. Choice should be 100% pastured, or cheapest possible.

@@glorioskiola yes, I know. My Whole Foods also sells a Pasture egg from a local source too.

Also don't fall for the 'vegetarian' fed. I have chickens. As soon as I let them out for the day they immediately start digging & scouring for bugs, worms, etc. That is how they eat naturally. They do have food I supply in their feeders & garden scraps but hands down they love 'fresh meat' 😁.

At the Kroger where I used to live, I was trying to get the Organic Heavy Whipping Cream... and I asked the employee and he looked it up on his handheld device... saying yeah, we have in this brand... but, the ones in the dairy section had the carrageenan. It wasn't until weeks later that I found the one without the carrageenan in the natural foods section. So they had 2 different formulations of the same product...Keep your eyes open people!! Or you will get caught in the crap...

    Re: egg iinformation.
In a fresh egg, we can see white cords attached to the yolk sac. These two cords, called chalazae, are made of twisted strands of mucin fibers that are a special form of protein. The chalazae hold the yolk in the center of the egg. The yolk is the source of food for the embryo and contains all the fat in the egg.
Just wanted to share to aid in knowledge.
I like your videos very informative.

Thanks for the haul, Thomas. When you went through your chocolate pudding recipe, I had to stop your video to go make some for myself and it was really good. Sometimes I get a few one-pound packages of frozen broccoli, berries, peaches, mangoes, etc. at Dollar Tree for --yep--one dollar each--and they are good. The rest of their cold case isn't worth taking home for free but their frozen real food is pretty good. Unfortunately, there is no Whole Foods or Trader Joe's near me.

I have to take a variety of tests for my job at a group home once a year. In the food safety test, one of the questions you would get wrong, Thomas, is on what groceries should be purchased first to last when grocery shopping.

I find it cheaper to buy in bulk or direct from the seller. It is expensive to start off, since you are buying everything. You won't have to buy everything at the same time after that. I go to costco for the Kerrygold butter, walnuts, pecans, coffee, spring water, eggs. I order live good fats bars online with a discount for 1st purchase. I get a Butcher box every month. I go to the grocery for everything else. Order vitamins , ACV, cacao from Amazon. I am not as clean as Thomas with my diet, but the longer I do it I have noticed I make additional tweaks over time.

hey Thomas, i just found you're videos and they have thought me so much. im not on keto but i do try and eat a clean diet so your food shop halls have taught me so much about looking at labels and what to try and avoid to be getting best ingredients for you're body. i never knew the penut butter i buy had a lot of dextrose and multidextrose in it. here in austria i eat a lot of local food from farms and markets but the stuff i get from the supermarket now is so much better now i know what to look for. thank you so much for starting youtube!

Whole milk yogurt, whole milk dairy, grass fed if you can find it. I do drink grass fed (100%) milk because it is low on the glycemic value and it is high quality fat for a budget friendly price. Remember milk is a complete meal in and of itself never consume milk with a meal, because you're actually consuming 2 meals at once. I will have a glass of milk with 4 eggs for breakfest, and I get a 4 to 6 hour sation from the combination.
Although I am not counting ketones, I aim for fat adaption. Keep in mind to drink milk warm as cold milk is very hard on the stomach.

One thing I've noticed with most videos re: Keto from various people. No one seems to talk about how to do Keto when one is intolerant/allergic to gluten and dairy. Like myself (but not celiac). Would you be so kind as to consider doing a video or two like that?

    • @fldhkybnva
      @fldhkybnva 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Arizzona Online Most keto food has no gluten. If you just eat food and not keto products then you’re not eating gluten if it’s a keto food. For dairy, you can just exclude it. I don’t eat either and have no issues eating keto.

watch paul mason's lectures, dr jason fung's lectures, dr eric berg's mini talks. aged dairy from Europe are much better loaded with vitamin K2 and probiotics. You can eliminate dairy from your keto. It is automatic gluten free unless you eat plan proteins as a vegan for vegan keto.

How do you add bulk to your meals? a bag of broccoli for the whole week, for 3 people? I think there is nothing wrong with adding greens, whole grains and beans for bulking the meals and making you feel satiated. For example, I won't feel satiated if I eat beef and greek yogurt for lunch/dinner. I want a big plate full of different flavors. For example, for breakfast I eat: whole grain, greens, eggs, cheese, avocado. For lunch a have a stew/soup with beans/peas, veggies and meat/sardines (I don't cook the sardines, I just add them afterwords). For dinner, I ll have some chocolate, berries and nuts with raw honey and nut butter, and call it a day.

It's frustrating to know how much the S.A.D has contributed to the obesity epidemic. Every body is different in the way that they process/breakdown/store the sugar, carbs, and fats in food and drinks. To say that the SAD recommendations of eating are "the right way" is narrow and, in the case of current obesity trends, not conducive. Thanks for providing us all the nutritional lifestyle alternatives you provide. The visible, measurable and sustainable results from having adopted a Keto Lifestyle demonstrate how helpful it has been to many of us.
PS: The 365 Unsweetened Almond Milk, Good Culture CC, Kerrygold Butter, Eggs, Avocados, Walnuts, and the Fage yogurt are STAPLES in my fridge because of your recommendations! 🥑🥑🥑
