Step one: Mark the spill area. Put down safety cones or caution tape around the spill area so that anyone who walks by knows that this is a potentially dangerous area. Make sure the area is clearly marked, including any access points or aisles that may lead into the spill area, until the spill is fully cleaned up.
Step two: Absorb the spill. Now that the area is marked, it's time to clean up the spill. The goal is to cover as much of the surface of the spill as possible to absorb as much as you can. It can help to start dropping absorbent mats and pads on the front of the spill or the direction the spill is travelling to help stop the spill moving. Continue dropping absorbent mats on the entire surface of the spill until you've achieved good coverage. bit.ly/top-inn...
