Hi. So I have Brugada!! I’m not supposed to be typing this… I should be dead. I took a nap back in February of 2020 and went into cardiac arrest 3 different times within 2 hours. Now see I don’t remember a damn thing… not even taking that nap or up to 3 months prior. My heart was pumping so fast that they had to put me in a hyperbaric thing to slow it down to 90 or something like that while they had put me into a coma for week. Sheesh!!! It was wild where I was. Felt like a second in forever. Anyways.. a nurse woke me up and was explaining what had happened. Totally bizarre and still is. So they kept me there for a couple weeks, kept calling me a miracle(now these are mgh cardiologist that are telling me this).. still crazy stuff🙅♂️because I was less than 2% of the ppl that go threw what I went through and survive(that’s heavy… very heavy on my chest besides the conditions(4)I have with my heart itself.)They fired an S-ICD inside like under my left armpit/next to my heart. I was wicked pissed at first. Thinking they were turning me into a machine. Felt like an f’n freak. They are so so many emotion, I’m emotional now. It’s tough. I was only 37 when it all happened. I woke up from a nap a week later and my life was never the same. The world was all different with corona and all that stuff going on.. and that’s all that was on the tv when I was at mgh. I literally freaked out on nurses and doctors and a side of me came out that I never had seen before. I was completely terrified of what was happening to me. My poor parents who just so happened to be at my apartment when all this happened and called 911 and my mom doing cpr were seeing all this going on. It was so ugly and gross and I’ve never been so ashamed of myself for acting the way that I did. I eventually calmed down. It took a while but I did. All the nurses stayed away. But one that would all pop in, look then take off. It was later that night that she came in and told me something that made me feel safe and totally changed the way that I was looking at everything. She said… “Paul, I know your scared and you have every right to be. Take a moment and think of this… you’re going to have something inside of you that is literally like your own personal guardian so if what happened a couple weeks ago happens again you’ll be safe. You’re more safe than most people. You’re more safe than me and I’m a nurse😊” Boy was she right… I left the hospital on 3/6/2020 and it went of on 3/17/2020 and saved my life for the first time…. And most like not the last. This is just my rant. I know it sounds crazy and I probably sound crazy but it’s just something that I need to share. It helps me getting it off my chest and I pray it helps someone out there❤️🩹➡️✨
Feels crazy reading your story . My sister is currently in the hospital and she went into cardiac arrest twice & she’s been sleep for 5 days now. Your story gave me so much hope . I’m praying and keeping my faith but thank you for sharing this . I hope you’re doing just fine ! GOD Bless 🙏🏾
@@EtheLocSmyth I just said a prayer to God after reading your comment. I swear it is the only thing that got me thru it all and actually surviving. From what I’m told my entire family was at the hospital, holding hands and praying together out loud. My oldest cousin and her husband stayed home and meditate. I pray, pray, pray to God that your sister pulls thru. Just please… your entire family has to pray. Miracles do happen & I pray you get to experience it. Please keep me posted on everything that happens. And please listen to her when she wakes up. God bless you and your entire family🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I won’t stop praying, I promise✨
@@2wenty7 Update ! Thank you for the kind words ! And believe me I cannot stop praying . I honestly don’t think I’ve prayed this much in my life ! My sisters accident happened the day she graduated army boot camp on April 8th. We’ve finally been able to get her transferred to the shepherd center ! Great place ! She developed an anoxic brain injury due to lack of oxygen when the initial incident happened, so we’re sitting at her bedside everyday ! Reading books , listening to music , and just talking and meditating with her . Slow process but definitely gonna be worth it in the end ! I will keep coming back here to give updates ! Thanks for the love & prayers 💚 May GOD continue to bless us all 💚
I have brugada syndrome and im 30 yes old. I dont think i have so much time cos i already have small cardiac attacks, lows and highs related to this which are getting more often in time.
Doctors have been scaring me with this for 5 years, I will start with the fact that in 2018 The doctor examining the ECG said that I have a "suspicion" of Brugada syndorme type 2. Type 2 is often difficult to confirm. After 5 years it is still only a suspicion, in 2018 I had a test with ajmalin, but it was negative. I'm going to have another one soon as I'm 18. I still have this disease in my head, I have more and more frequent panic attacks, I'm afraid for my life, what do you think are the chances that I have this disease. Should I be concerned about this "suspicion" as it were?
Don't let this take your life over. There are people who go through their whole life with this disease and live to old age. Be more worried about not doing what you came here to do on this planet. Focus on making your life mean something.
@@eyadayman8746That is just false, my greatgrandmother was about 90 years old when we found out that we have this syndrome in our family, her included.
I haven't had fainting or cardiac arrest yet, but I'm already diagnosed with Brugada syndrome. However, I do have a bit of a weird anomaly. When my body and mind are stable, a normal electrocardiogram comes out, but when I do an electrocardiogram with excessive anxiety disorder and an excessive load on the body and heart due to this, an electrocardiogram abnormality with st elevation occurs. This is a causal relationship, and it seems to be a peculiar phenomenon that cannot be found even after searching on the Internet. what the heck is this?? are going to be okay?? In the hospital, I'm just doing follow-up for 8 years.
@@guruberan9745 ands=robert kim. It's the same person. At first, the Brugada suspicious waveform came out, and the Brugada sign came out through a drug test. drug induced type 1
lots have brugada in my fam including myself and my nan had gone 70yrs undiagnosed lol. Another funny thing to mention although my grandad is southeast asian male (majority of brugada carriers are southeast asian males) my grandma actually carried the syndrome (white female)
Omg there so many heart syndromes how can you keep yourself safe from them also is not easy to convince your family to do test about all those syndromes dammed i have panic attacks and every day i feel i am going to die.
@@ΠαναγιωτηςΑγγελ ive havent had any dangerous symptoms, and i visit the cardiologist every year plus when i get to the brugada 'danger age' ill just get a pacemaker or something. And yeah my uncle still has not done a test for brugada (after asking him for years to do one) and he has children so that means we are also unsure if his children have it which is worrying.
@@ΠαναγιωτηςΑγγελ yes you can do a blood test and ask to see results there are specific faulty genes that cause brugada, also having an ECG can check your hearts electrical activity and see if its a Brugada ECG pattern. If you have a family member who has brugada make an appointment with a gp they may refer you to a cardiologist
Treatment towards the end of this is misleading. Though the points are rightly made, Cardiac Ablation is usually an option but not always the primary option. An Electrophysiologist could potentially find the cardiac tissue causing the issue but the problem is that any piece of the cardiac tissue has the potential to activate itself and "beat" on its own and it disrupts the normal rhythm so it pauses > heart resets > normal rhythm. It is crucial to know the patter on the ECG as that will determine its behavior. If it causes ventricular SVT's or ventricular fibrillation, those are the bad arrythmia's that may need an EP to evaluate and determine if ablation can block the pathway of those rhythm irregularities OR place an implanatable defib. The cardiologist would need to determine with EP to see if the candidate shows any signs of heart failure or heart deformities. If the heart is healthy, most likely will be a given a choice of drugs but I find that most EPs would rather do an ablation as Anti Arrythmics can initiate or trigger more arrythmias vs an ablation terminates the site of origin.
is it possible for 3 siblings to have inherited this syndrome and to die at different ages? arrhythmias are frequent or can be very rare so that they are not detected at all?
ofc they can die at different ages. you have a higher arrytmis probability, doesn't mean it will happen and, if it does, not necessarily at the same age
