Ten years to the day after this we would lose our beloved George. (11/29/2001) George had given up smoking, watching television and reading newspapers - something that all of us should have the courage to take that stand.
@@da_great_mogulClapton was a horrible person so that's what forms their judgement. I dont listen to him at all but even I have full on respect for his talent and contributions.
@@Godloveszaza Clapton was in no way a horrible person. He was stunted, certainly, by alcoholism for 20 years. And during that time was by his own account pretty immature, unreliable, etc, pulling mean pranks, saying nasty things (you know what I'm referring to). But he shaped up, took account of what kind of man he was/wanted to be, and changed. He reports finding himself in his 40s suddenly sober and developmentally still in his 20s. So he grew up, albeit a bit later than most, beginning in 1987. If you can find a shred of him being "horrible" in the '90s and beyond I'll eat my hat. He threw himself into music after his son died, did a bunch of runs of shows with different bands, put on Blues "all-star" shows which boosted Buddy Guy's career to the stardom he always deserved (not unlike the effect he had in the '60s covering then-obscure bluesmen Otis Rush, Freddie King, Robert Johnson, bringing much-needed exposure to these great names (I know because that is how I discovered many of my now-favorite musicians)). Clapton then attained his true form, released his best album, From The Cradle, and toured with nothing but Blues covers for two years; the songs he loved as a kid and that inspired him to play. He introduced every artist in the setlist: "Here's a song by Eddie Boyd, it's called Five Long Years." That's not a horrible person! That's a grateful student wearing his loyalty on his sleeve, paying tribute to his heroes, whom he believes everyone should love more than they do him. I've gotten off track trying to sketch his character for you, but let me return finally to my point, which is the difference between the man under the cloud of alcohol abuse, and the man in full control of his faculties. The above synopsis is the actual guy. The unsavory comments/unfunny pranks/unkind jokes were the product of a tortured mind bent out of shape by horrific substance abuse. Eric Clapton has spent all his efforts since his sobriety growing as a person privately (married, raising children, being a good friend) and publicly helping afflicted people recover from the addiction he suffered (Crossroads centre in Antigua, a rehab he founded in 1999 (which is free of charge for native Antiguans, among whom alcohol is a pervasive problem)). All his peers, elders, and juniors alike are on record singing praises of the man-not the guitarist, not the icon-the person and his character. BB King: "I've been around the world... I've met many people, kings and queens, but I've never met a better man, a more gracious man, than my friend-I'd like to call him my friend-Eric Clapton."
George Harrison must have an angelic Soul they married the same girl she left George for Eric and look how he remains friends with Eric who does that so sweet and sexy ♥️💋
Unluckly during 90s we were so much ( too much) taken from the new musical waves that we didn t Pay attention..didnt take chance to attend to his last concert, what a pity! A mistake! Exactly ten years before he passed away
Harry Painter damn good spot may you Rest In Peace George 🙂
Eric Clapton jokingly says at 4:06 that he is 79..well, this month he in fact turns 79.
Love George Harrison .. always like to watch his interviews such a sweet personality .. miss him

Bit late giving up smoking after chainsmoking for four decades.
Not really, considering Keith Richards recently quit in his late 70s. @@thefonzkiss
My 2 favorite musicians. Beyond their more than considerable musical talents, they both exude great
thoughtfulness, humility and dignity.
Exactly. Thanks for the words!
To sit and watch a Beatle talk = Pure bliss...!! 🤩
Clapton actually will be 79 on 30 March 2024. Wow!
Yes I spotted that as well. Time marches on for us all.
UPありがとう!
I wish I understood the questions, but this is just ace
Super great upload! Thanks
Wish he'd done a world tour.
George Harrison was gorgeous beyond words
He was so handsome. A very good looking man.
George is the real star here.
When Clapton goes you'll maybe see they both are.

Well it was George’s concert in the end of the day, but Clapton is a master too
Holy cow..... whatever they are saying, those are some LONG ASS questions!
I wish there were subtitles in English.
29/11/2018: if only Harrison was able to return to Japan...
My two favorite guitarists ❤
Politeness is a lost art. The Japanese are a superb example of the the word. I think it had a lot to do with George’s decision to perform these dates.
George Harrison must have an angelic Soul they married the same girl she left George for Eric and look how he remains friends with Eric who does that so sweet and sexy ♥️💋
George ❤
What a nice fellow! :D
Happy Birthday George
George,if i could say that He Is the, best Singer that i love him from the boom
Man the questions take a long time!
Se oye estupendamente! , tanto que me parece notar problemas en la respiración de George...
My japanese is not at its best... which Clapton's song is mentionned at the end of the interview ?
