Hey bro the glitter effect on jordan 1s is called "blooming" it happens woth fluctuating temps cause the natural oils of the leather to seep out. Then crystalize. You just need to wipe with a warm damp microfiber towl. Then use mink oil compound. I got mine ftom angelus direct. It made all my 1st look like new! Hope that helps.

The problem is that people are treating the sneaker game like an expensive trend when you have folks like me who have been into J's and sneakers since the 90's. And I hate when people base what their collection is "worth" off of trending StockX prices which change almost daily. Once your shoes are no longer DS, they aren't worth that much anymore. Also, a shoe is only worth what someone is willing to pay. And that is subject to change. All of these shoes are made for $5 in China at the end of the day.

Hey Rio I have the same thing happening to my 2013 shadows. You get this crystallized layer forming on top of the leather. It’s called “bloom“. It’s fairly common for it to appear on synthetic materials. When you’re storing your shoes in a climate that goes from hot to cold and vice versa, the oils seep out of the material and form a crystallized layer. The best way to clean that up is just grabbing a microfiber towel and a little bit of warm water. Wipe it all down, dry it off and then apply mink oil over it. What that will do is limit how often bloom forms on the leather.

As the shoe warms and cools through the seasons the glue that bonds with the black cheap leather panels reacts and secretes an oil that crystallises, they have a real scientific word for it now but I forgot what it was or who's channel I saw it on in the last few weeks
That "crystalization" you are talking about is the chemical that they spray the shoes with that gives them that "new shoe" smell and is a pesticide to keep rodents and bugs out while in storage/transit crystalizing over time. Also low key way of telling that your shoes are real or not UA.
