Ty S hahaha I look back at that and I feel the same way, but that is why I left it in the video to save anyone else making the same mistake. For sure the steel was the way to go. Thank you for your kind comment bro. Takeiteass!
as a seamstress I am very impressed by your creative skills!!! I just came to your site mainly to see how the swing arm bag goes on the bike, most sites selling the bag dont have a picture of the bag on the bike. I really like what you did, unfortunatley I dont have the tools to make one! nice video.
Bernbo. I think you've come up with some really cool idea's over the years and this is one more to add to the list. You seem to keep the cost down, the installation easy and once removed from the bike..no harm done.
very nice dude, I love this channel! making my floorboards this week, might have to do something like this too, I melted the crap out of my saddlebags when my laptop exploded in one of them from the heat from the exhaust. Pro tip, when travelling with a laptop in your saddle bags, put it in the bag that's not on the side with the exhaust lol
Right on Vinny happy to hear you like the channel, awesome! My bro loves the boards he says he could never go back to pegs. The solo bag has been a great addition to the bike and really suites the classic look of the bike just love this thing. Great tip on the laptop storage bro lol. Takeiteass!
Bernbo, a suggestion for the future I've had great luck cutting up to 1/8 aluminum with a jig saw. Nice clean cut and great controllability. Great idea though I may copy. Cheers!
Thanks for the idea. I just got to get our sheet metal shop to make something for a sportster. I have to figure out a mounting point. Im going to try and not remove the rear pegs. But will take some thinking
Thank you for watching, as for care of motorcycle seats, if you have a vinyl seat they are pretty much maintenance free. Leather seat I am not to sure of the best way to protect it. But one of the best things you can do for both is to keep them out of the sun.
Turned out good, and fits the lines of the bike great. Theres only one problem, if you happen to ride in rain it looks like it will funnel the water into the top of the bag ?
Hey Bernbo hope all is well !! You wouldn’t happen to still have that plate still? Since I believe you sold that bike maybe I can buy it from you. It’s a long shot but would appreciate the response thanks bud and take it eas.
I tried that but they hang to low, But it only takes a min to remove the swing arm bag & install the saddlebags if I have to. Thank you for watching bro. Ride safe.
Thanks bro, I checked out a lot of pics of the 1200 ANV custome and it looks a little tricky. The best thing I can suggest is to try and find a good spot on the frame to attach to with some strong pipe clamps, or maybe weld a mounting point to the frame similar to what I used on my bike. That way you keep it separate from your swing arm. Hope this is of some help. Nice bike bro. Ride safe
Thanks Bro I will check the options since the showroom guys gave up and i need to explore the above options. I am surprised how they sell such a product saying it universal fit for any bike.I will keep you informed.Have a blessed day.
Nice work.. the only thing I think I would have done would be to add some rubber washers to make sure no water or dirt would get into the bag. Has that been an issue at all for you after adding this to the bike?
Glad to hear... wasn't sure if that plastic backing was going to be able to keep out the wet stuff or not. Keep up the great video's ... love that skull and custom foot plates ...
+Andrew Muhlhahn Thanks Andrew, i did for a min but I figured I would share it with everyone instead. There is a fair bit of work to it but definitely worth it in the end. Happy holidays bro!
Nice. I don’t like the big saddlebags i have and will be stealing your idea. But I wonder if I can use the rear foot peg for when I’m riding with the wife.
Jorge Arcelay you could probably modify it a bit to do that. Or make an adapter for the footpeg to stick out a bit further. I got to say this setup is awesome I love this bag works perfect for my needs. Cheers bro
richard laing Hi Richard, I really recommend that you make one out of cardboard for your frame. That way it's a custom fit to your bike. The one I made will not be a good fit for the swingarm on the Victory. Check out this link, i think this is more what you are looking for. I Hope this helps you out. www.furyforums.com/forum/members/587-lostshore-albums451-swing-arm-bag-picture4314-rear-side-view.html
Hey RanGer, I actually found them scrounging in a big bucket of nuts and bolts, thought they would work perfect for this project. You could grind down the head of a standard bolt and make your own I guess too. Had I not found these that's probably what I would have done.
Hi. You wouldn't happen to have a paper mold or template of that piece that you could send by email? Or would you be willing to make one and send it by mail? Do let me know.
@@bernbo Hi! If you could send me a scan or something like that I'd appreciate it. I should be able to replicate it here with local materials. Do let me know to send you my email. Thanks!
Hey Edward sorry i dont have the template anymore. It is super easy to make your own out of cardboard though. I would recommend getting the solo bag you want first so you can trace it out.
I'm going to make a bracket out of wood. Then will paint the heck out of it to weather proof it. Main benefits would be easy to work, light weight and strong. That's the theory anyway 😀
Hi, B. You're a very good fabricator. I respect that.
SENSEI PETTEN Thank you, much appreciated. Cheers!
That suits the cycle and has a professional finish. Nice work!
i got scared when u pulled out the cookie sheet. but this is an awsome fabrication job man!!! steel is the way to go

Thanks Alan, you hit the nail on the head brother, I try to keep it simple and still get what I'm after. Cheers!
Nice job. I think I like tinkering as much as riding.
Damn good job! Always enjoy seeing your new projects dude!
Right on bro, thank you.
Slick!...now you have me thinking for my Roadliner...Thx Bernbo!!
lol Right on Steve, that's cool. Cheers!
Love your work! Keep the vids coming, they're great!
Thank you James, always dreaming something up.

Sweet swing arm bag mount. Great idea.
+jaglavak101 Thanks bro
You're welcome bro
Nice ! Thanks for sharing.
Nice job man. I also love fabricating bike bits like that to save a few bucks. Your workshop looks a bit like mine- a tidy mess! Cheers
The Gun nut Thanks man. Yah I have done a big clean up on it since then, see how long that lasts lol. Cheers
Awesome video..you have come up with some great ideas...thanks for all the vids...
Great job mate look killa
I'm going to copy your design. Great idea!
dude, that turned out so nice...
Thanks man, it's been on the bike a while now and it's rock solid no problems what so ever. Very happy with it. Cheers!
That's a great video, good job.
Right on thank you. Cheers!
Hell yeah!Great vid and great job, I hope some one is selling these somewhere.
Good job on the mount, bro!
Thanks Joe.
Perfect man nice job!!!
Thanks Marco.
Cheers!
That's awesome, very nice looking. You could even do one to match on the other side. Always great to see what you come up with for our VStars. :-)
Thanks Jeff, I appreciate that bro, if it helps one person I am happy. Cheers!
If you're ever in Michigan or nearby let me know and we will ride. :)
Right on man, thank you. Takeiteass.
exhaust is on the other side....
@@G-Money1 sure is. Just put it above.
looks great man! it's really awesome!!

Thank you so much for all your tips and videos on motorcycle maintenance.
Do you have any tips for care of motorcycle seats?
Thank you for watching, as for care of motorcycle seats, if you have a vinyl seat they are pretty much maintenance free. Leather seat I am not to sure of the best way to protect it. But one of the best things you can do for both is to keep them out of the sun.
Hey mate, awesome work on the mount. Where did you get the bag from?
Thanks bro. I got it years ago on a website called motorcycle superstore, not sure if it's still around though.
Nice work
AWESOME VIDEO!
Thanks!
Nice one, one of this days i will get the courage to learn how to ride my vstar classic. Or sell it .
lol, I would go for learning how to ride, no regrets.
cheers mate for the link!! I think I will get one !! be good to put wet weather paints in or water a hat or bits and bobs lol cheers
+AndyLee103 Right on bro. Cheers!
Nice bike!
Great job
Turned out good, and fits the lines of the bike great. Theres only one problem, if you happen to ride in rain it looks like it will funnel the water into the top of the bag ?
Thanks man, never thought of that, you may be right. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Cheers!
Hope it keeps your things dry. You could always fix somthing to help seal it, thats if needed, if so you can handle it....yl
That's true, In a really heavy rain I could just put a bag over it.
That works for a lot of things, even when covering a bag, with a another bag ...lol
lol aint that the truth.
Nice Video Bro, Much better with that steel checker plate rather than the ally flexi plate, Ride Safe Bro, Take it ease!
Yah man, I agree, very happy with it. Takeiteass!
Hey Bernbo hope all is well !! You wouldn’t happen to still have that plate still? Since I believe you sold that bike maybe I can buy it from you. It’s a long shot but would appreciate the response thanks bud and take it eas.
Hey Alfredo, I actually have it on my 1100 Dragster now, just a small amount of grinding to do an adjustment, perfect fit. Sorry bro.
🍻
I’ll def use your idea :) thanks 🙏🏻
@@chilebb1 Right on, you will get a lot of use out of it for sure.
Great idea what are the dimensions ??I would like to do this same with my 650
I would make it to the size of your swing arm bag, just measure in about 1 to 1 1/2 in smaller that the back of the bag.
Great Job
awesome ! Now If I can figure out how to fit on on and Indian scout I'd be very happy !!
Thanks John, good luck hope you come up with a solution.
Cheers!
Great job!
Pretty smart. Came out really nice, I was surprised you used diamond plate? Was just a piece of steal they had you could use or just you had?
Thanks Mikie. Yah man it was a piece of scrap they had laying around, keeping it a low buck project.
it works, I was wanting to know if you picked for the design.
lol no but I really like the look of it.
Hi, can you still use the saddlebags with the swing arm bag? Enjoy your posts thanks. Ride safe.
I tried that but they hang to low, But it only takes a min to remove the swing arm bag & install the saddlebags if I have to. Thank you for watching bro. Ride safe.

Thanks man, I bought it at the motorcycle super store. Check this video out. Quick Review of my Willie & Max Universal Swing Arm Bag
Cool I’m ordering some bags this week, where you located? Noticed Canadian crown royal on a vid👍
I really like this addition to the bike, use it all the time. I'm on the west coast of BC, Vancouver island. Cheers man with some Crown Royal.
Bernbo cool I’m on Sunshine Coast bc , ordering some stuff tonight for the bike I’ll keep ya informed and maybe pick your brain if I’m stuck cheers
Do you have to remove the swing arm bag to use your saddlebags?
Yes, its either the solo bag or the saddle bags. But I use this solo bag more than I ever used my saddle bags, but that's just me.
Thanks

Did u use machine to bend plate
Randy Hoffman Hey Randy, yes he used a bender to get the shape.
I would like to make one for my victory Hammer 8 ball. Do you have a template?

richard laing No problem.
richard laing Hey Richard, did you ever get one made for your Victory? I'm wanting to make a bracket to run a swingarm bag on both sides
Kevin Bowers I have sourced out the materials......And just got a nice deal on bags for both sides from AliExpress.
where did you get the flat Bolts from? thxs

Where can I get one and price does harbor freight have it
Randy Hoffman Hey Randy, you'll have to make one, dont think you can buy one like this. Haven't seen anything like it.
Hey bro isn't it vibrates or make some voice on road with vibration.
amandeep bajwa Not at all, you don't even know it's there, couldn't be happier with it.Cheers!
what do you do about rain
theuniplex happy to say, rain has not been an issue.
Hi. You wouldn't happen to have a paper mold or template of that piece that you could send by email? Or would you be willing to make one and send it by mail? Do let me know.
Hi Edward, sorry I dont, but you could make a template super easy out of cardboard. If you use your solo bag for the shape it's even easier.
