He was cut for continually missing run gap assignments, trust me I'm an expert, I crapped myself in the middle of Kroger once.

Im thankful for him in that Texans game. That game scared me. Texans probably why the Lions all banged up.

Honestly, I think he was embarrassed to be in the locker room after having such a sh**ty day.

Definitely confused by Detroit cutting James Houston without an explanation. Hopefully we can learn why he was cut.

James Houston came close to sacking Love four times, in the game at Lambeau. He should of got game ball after Texans game. He was all over the field that night. Should of had two sacks. He ended up with one. He had more pressures on Stroud than anyone else. It makes no sense to get rid of Houston. Glenn never liked him. Campbell capitulated. Campbell even admitted, Houston was getting better every week. Getting his confidence back, getting over the fear of getting hurt. Houston ends up in the pyle of players, the Lions have given up on. Like Tavai made the pro-bowl for New England. Kyle Van Noy made the pro-bowl for New England, Miami, and the Ravens. Lankin Tomlinson made the pro-bowl for SF. He's currently on Seattle. When Campbell says, it just "didn't work" he sounded like a politician. Houston has a talent at edge, I hadn't seen on the Lions, since Ziggy Ansah. I remember when Patricia ran Darius Slay and Quandre Diggs out of town. Both were all-pro players. Wayne Fontes use to get rid of great players he personally didn't like, during the Barry Sanders years. You never know, maybe Houston was part of the Smith deal with Cleveland, the Lions were able to keep Houston until Smith played. Who knows.

He's the Browns' problem now. But at least next time he has an accident, like Deadpool says, "This guy's got the right idea. He wore the brown pants."

I think it came down to an attitude and effort issue. Not saying he had a bad attitude just not the type the the Lions can work with anymore when they know they're not getting what the need/want out of him

It was obvious he never regained the speed and explosion after injuring his leg. I don' think we know all there is to know about it. A lot of guys become head cases after injuries like that because they don't trust it and almost get a phobia about injuring it again.

Sometimes guys get early success and it goes to their head. He may have not wanted to grind on sp teams. You can't be a one trick pony on this team.

Houston was trash against the run. He was a situational pass rusher who lost the ability to get to the QB.

Come on now everybody stop blaming James Houston if anything his success in his rookie season hurt him remember he's a 6th round pick so no one's expecting him to get 8 to 10 so a year but since he had that success at the second half of his rookie season everyone expects him to go in and get two or three sacks every game now. Remember he got injured I second year and he just now came back this year slowly. He wasn't even getting that many snaps at the beginning of the year this year and he only started getting snaps maybe the last three or four games. But as a 6 round pick, if he would have got three or four socks his rookie season I guarantee people would be looking at this year as a decent year compared to his rookie season if he has one sack and a couple of QB hurries because he would be on the road to match his rookie year if he has one sack now. He would probably get three or four or five sacks by the end of the year and everyone would say that was a great season parrot but by him getting eight sacks his rookie year everyone has way too high of expectations from the guy in my opinion. And when people come back from a serious injury that end of the season you got to give them time you can't just judge him after 4 or 5 games
