DE BEER: GNU - The End Game

  • With South Africa at “boiling point” and running gun battles on the Cape Flats, negotiations for the country’s new Government of National Unity (GNU) took some dramatic turns this week as more parties (including the EFF and BOSA) entered into coalition talks with the ruling African National Congress (ANC) while the Democratic Alliance (DA) teetered on the brink of going back to the opposition benches. In this interview with BizNews, United Independent Movement (UIM) President Neil de Beer speaks about the DA’s fight for the economic cluster and the portfolios that are critical to the movement of the basic economy, lifestyle, and stability of the country. He describes President Cyril Ramaphosa re-emerging as the “the Cyril of the CODESA negotiations…and putting down his iron rod”. De Beer also dissects the East-West factions inside the GNU and warns of a looming foreign policy battle. Meanwhile, he reminds the current president that there are factions inside the ANC, the government, the police, the army, and the intelligence services that remain loyal to former President Jacob Zuma.

      Think a second about
How would you categorize a criminal
A Thief from a shop to feed himself
A person who defends themselves and kills a person
A person who illegally dumps some grass
A person who dumps toxic waste
A person who kills people for a living
      A person who committed fraud
A person who is accused of grape but did not do it
I can go on, where do we draw the line between a criminal and criminal.
If you give the government the power to say criminals do not get human rights
What's to stop them from saying a police officer is a criminal for killing a person in self-defense?
      What about minor crimes
What about people who get unjustly accused of something they did not do
Human rights has flaws, but they have a stated purpose that purpose is to keep people from being unjustly treated by the government and economic powers
When you give a blank statement like that, you wipe out the game and say anyone who is accused of something should be treated unfairly, you give the goverment the power to brand anyone as a criminal and give them free rain on how they treat that criminal.

We need system change where WE THE PEOPLE become the government as it should be in a real democracy. Then we nominate and vote for COMPETENT candidates DIRECTLY so that WE CAN HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. This will eliminate the need for Political Parties and a forced marriage like now will never happen.

When you talk about "We the People" you're talking about the "People" running Parliament (for as long as it continues to exist, that is"'). That means continuous Referendums, and who is to decide what we will decide on? Who will mobilize the people? Oh, a Political party! Perhaps a system where the People are split into areas and the people in each area vote for someone to look after their interests in Parliament, we could call those areas "constituencies". That might work, don't you think?

Bring back the Death Penalty... This is definitely a deterrent... As I had "friend" who was a hangman at Pretoria central prison...I was absolutely horrified at the stories he used tell me on what happens on the day of a hanging... If these murderers, rapist, high-jackers etc only knew what is awaiting for them at the gallows they would definitely think twice of committing a such henious crimes...because in the olde days if U pointed a gun someone that is classed as attempted murder.😮 And if U raped a woman U could also face the death penalty...😢😮

Sentences are not good enough, Jails have become boarding houses. Crime is severe, corruption is beyond measure, murders are increasing and governments do not do their part. I do think it is easy to work for government with high salaries. I think most of them are there for this reason. Not to build up South Africa. Our taxes are serving the Criminals.😢. People voted for loadshedding so that is what they are going to get. The one thing the last election proved is that the humble voter is willing to accept the corruption, economic collapse and all the other failures of the ANC government. People who want to see SA move forward are going to have to wait another 5 years for the next election because the only issue that has really cropped up in this election was whether people are more loyal to Ramaphosa or to Zuma. The numbers don't lie and show that the DA didn't manage to gain in support (compared to 2020 an 2016) despite things like load shedding , the economy and state capture so please tell me how in the hell people expect some kind of change for the better due to the GNU? Why would the ANC reduce corruption if their voters who are still in the majority are fine with it?
