During the time that you saw the light when rakan heals xayah. He's sacrificing his remaining light for her. He's just waiting for the perfect time to freed themselves from zoe's curse. Ahri didn't believe that her former teammates were dead that why she decided to look for them. That's why Zoe was not happy that she found them. And now that Ahri found them after a long time, Xayah (The bird girl of that couple) turned evil but her boyfriend Rakan was enable to save her but he died.
