MITCHELL WIGGS If you ever cut weight like that you'd realize how tough it is. It makes you miserable. Can't even think straight. I lost 15 pounds in 2 days for a fight 2 weeks ago..straight up hell. 30 minutes after weigh ins and pedialyte/water, you feel 100% better.
Over 40 years ago, i was a high school wrestler in Oklahoma. I remember being at a walking-around weight of 115 and cutting to 101 pounds. In the sauna with both a rubber suit and a sweatsuit on. Doing exercises in there...jumping jacks, push ups, running in place. Starving and not drinking water. .....Don't miss it one bit. I totally understand this guy's suffering.
It’s funny because he’ll end up facing an opponent with the same size. If fighters would just agree on stopping this, we‘d be fine and prevent a lot of long term injuries.

So if they perform right after the weigh in, they are going to be weak or probably won't be even able to stay on their feet. Actually some fighters feel week the next day due the weigh cut even though they already ate and rehydrated.
Nah people would still try to cut and then you'd have the more serious issue of them fighting while dehydrated, which has resulted in deaths even with weigh ins a day before. For everyone who is curious what the point of losing weight is, it’s too have as much muscle mass as possible and be as light as possible. In wrestling (my home sport) I have to cut from 140 to 120, this puts me at an advantage over my opponents as most of them don’t lose that much and are weaker than me. He is most likely a pound or two over and trying to get down right before the fight to be able to make his weight class.

Emma Right, but sweating off too much in one sitting starts to pull water from all your organs, including the vital ones such as the liver and most important your brain, which lessens the amount of cerebral spinal fluid that actually cushions your brain from the impact of hitting the inner walls of the skull, it takes up to 72 hours to replenish that fluid in order for your body to function at full capacity and be able to take a hit, basically cutting this much water weight is what leads to all those vicious flash knockouts that cause guys to go completely stiff when they are hit by what seems to be even light shots or to crumple in pain from shots to the body, it severely damaged performance.

A lot of mma companies have gone away with IV fluid rehydration, and so ppl aren't able to hydrate their bodies as effectively before. There have been too many times where fighters look starved to the point of passing out, and going into shock (leading to seizures etc). My suggestion (especially in the ufc) would do the weight ins the day before or as planned but just make the weight classes flexible. For instance : lightweight : (between 155-165), welterweight (170-180), middleweight : (185-195)etc As long as they weigh in within these parameters they should be allowed to fight and not penalized. Everyone is usually bigger than their weight class says, so this in turn, creates easier weight cuts for people.

I'm really curious to know what would be more beneficial at the end of the day. - The weight advantage of cutting alot to verse smaller guys, or - The performance benefits of not cutting alot of weight (cardio/energy/focus) etc etc I think that promoters, coaches and regulating commissions need to limit weight cutting and force fighters to fight closer to natural weight.
The reason why they have to cut is every division is stacked w guys who are cutting So if youre the guy who dosent youre giving up a major strength andvantage
No they just need to make the weight to fight a smaller guy. Get the facts right. Plus that doesn't make sense, how would losing weight make you stronger? Dude you don't know what you're talking about the more i read your comment the more i just spot out the dumb things you said
Lavito Beats he is an mma professional fighter, in order to fight you have to be in a weight class, and you have to be within 2 pounds if you opponent I pretty sure, if you not you have to cut weight, which is what you just whitnessed
To some people this may seem stupid or strange to put your body through but some believe they have an athletic advantage by cutting so much weight. In reality it dramatically decreases your endurance and the ability to recover in between rounds. Both of my sons are highly competitive wrestlers one in high school the other in college and they choose to wrestle at their normal weight and usually beat much stronger and faster wrestlers because they do not get gassed out from cutting weight. It comes at a high risk low reward payoff for most.
MMA Weight Classes Should Be ✅ Super Heavyweight: 240 - 280 Heavyweight: 220 - 240 Light Heavyweight: 210 - 220 Middleweight: 200 - 210 Welterweight: 190 - 200 Lightweight: 180 - 190 Bantamweight: 170 - 180 Flyweight: 160 - 170 Super flyweight: 150 - 160 Strawweight: 140 - 150 No man should be under 140 involved in a contact sport⚠ & they should do hydration test the week of the fight + weigh in the day of.
Comming from a wrestler I have experienced this myself and it is no joke it literally makes you question every thing but I ussually just ask what's for dinner
Justin Curry when i’m cutting and on my way to the tournament and look at all the food places and telling myself “ooh i’m gonna eat that i’m gonna drink that i’m gonna eat everything after weigh ins”
I just take probiotics, colon cleansers, starve myself, spit in a bottle nonstop, and flex throughout all of my classes before a tournament. It's a pain in the ass but I prefer wrestling in the 126's
I’d rather fight people in my normal weight class using my full energy and potential then fight people in a lower weight class and feel weak and drained because of cutting.
The cold water tightens the muscles and clenches them and the alcohol dries out oil and sweat and when put in wet clothing under cloth super heats the body then scraping the alcohol off so it stops burning the skin and drying it out too much
One time I had to lose 1.4 pounds in 1 hour to make weight so my coach gave me a jolly rancher I had to suck on it (pause) nd keep spitting my saliva I made weight by spitting out saliva lol
norm paul I don't think it's about that though. I think because weight is a big advantage in MMA and the weigh-ins are a few days before the fight, the fighters are actually weighing more then they are at the weigh ins. They just do this so they can quickly gain the weight back and thus have an advantage in the fight.
I know how to cut weight , I was a wrestler in school , but if you live at the weight you fight at it less stress on your body , so when you do have to cut it not as bad
Not always true. Just because your the bigger fighter and have a weight advantage doesn't mean you can win the fight. Yes it gives them an advantage but it doesn't pay off all the time.

Those questions above are directed to people who know the mechanism to why it helps cut water faster.

I think that promoters, coaches and regulating commissions need to limit weight cutting and force fighters to fight closer to natural weight.
Throw a match in that bath
Annnnd what would that do? You know water puts out fire right?.....
Butt Fruit often alcohol is put in the bath with Epsom salts to help make the fighter sweat.
Craig Powell ooohhhh
+DJ FOURBAR alcohol must be AT LEAST 95% of the bathub volume to set fire up, do some research
Pedro Omar Soto oof
1:57 nothing to see here just a normal rug
The reason why they have to cut is every division is stacked w guys who are cutting
So if youre the guy who dosent youre giving up a major strength andvantage
No they just need to make the weight to fight a smaller guy. Get the facts right. Plus that doesn't make sense, how would losing weight make you stronger? Dude you don't know what you're talking about the more i read your comment the more i just spot out the dumb things you said
He should teach this to Fat Albert
Imagine doing this when you could just be large
i couldnt think of a username imagine being a fatass

@@adrik737 like Big Country Roy Nelson? Imagine him weight cutting. Lol
You should rename this video to "Fastest way to destroy your kidneys"
It's always a good day when an extreme weight cutter loses.
what does this even help?
DannewK He got a lower weight at the weigh-in and can face smaller opponents..
@@Patrick-ct4hl the problem is everyone cuts weight so the opponents are most likely the same size
Hardcorebut unhealthily as hell.
But this shows great dedication.
I'm just curious what extreme thermal shock to the body has to do with losing weight
How to be single.
he had the hottie wife scraping him. whos single?
@@randyduncan4004 she wasn't hot at all. He's SUPER HOT
reminds me of opiod withdrawal for some reason... except cutting weight is nothing in comparison
lol so true
There's no Kratom for cutting weight
Was the water cold in the first scene?
0:27 me after one mosquito bite
Wow man this seems so stupid?!
Lavito Beats he is an mma professional fighter, in order to fight you have to be in a weight class, and you have to be within 2 pounds if you opponent I pretty sure, if you not you have to cut weight, which is what you just whitnessed
yea you know nothing
joseph idk I just go off of what I see when I watch ufc with my dad
FinisDierum2027 have you ever weigh cut before? I wrestle and I need to cut trust me don’t judge if you never have done this
FinisDierum2027 because you do realize that people eat after a fight and how do you know maybe he got two weeks notice.
Mans not hot?
lmoe never hot
perspiration ting
Mans very hot there 😂 to sweat that much
NinjaCowKiller just stop...
Never hot, lmaooo
I'm watching. A man. Wiggle in. A bath.
MMA Weight Classes Should Be ✅
Super Heavyweight: 240 - 280
Heavyweight: 220 - 240
Light Heavyweight: 210 - 220
Middleweight: 200 - 210
Welterweight: 190 - 200

Bantamweight: 170 - 180
Flyweight: 160 - 170
Super flyweight: 150 - 160
Strawweight: 140 - 150
No man should be under 140 involved in a contact sport⚠ & they should do hydration test the week of the fight + weigh in the day of.
Comming from a wrestler I have experienced this myself and it is no joke it literally makes you question every thing but I ussually just ask what's for dinner
Justin Curry true. Im a wrestler too. Its hard but sometimes neccesary.
Justin Curry when i’m cutting and on my way to the tournament and look at all the food places and telling myself “ooh i’m gonna eat that i’m gonna drink that i’m gonna eat everything after weigh ins”
106 Vill dude same
I just take probiotics, colon cleansers, starve myself, spit in a bottle nonstop, and flex throughout all of my classes before a tournament. It's a pain in the ass but I prefer wrestling in the 126's
Im confused what did he do?
I’d rather fight people in my normal weight class using my full energy and potential then fight people in a lower weight class and feel weak and drained because of cutting.
I am wondering why all these negative comments criticizing everything?
Come on TH-cam I already watched this video quit recommending it to me!
Anyone in 2019 here
What other year would we be from? Go away
No I’m from 2020 obviously.
The cold water tightens the muscles and clenches them and the alcohol dries out oil and sweat and when put in wet clothing under cloth super heats the body then scraping the alcohol off so it stops burning the skin and drying it out too much
everything has to do with MMA is depressing
I don't get it so he soaked in rubbing alcohol and got dehydrated then wiped the sweat off with a credit card 💳
how to solve this? weight in every day 2 months before the fight, they will fight at real weight
I went to the gym today for the first time in two months.

Me when my crush only likes skinny girls
Crazy that fighters do this the night before
Sauna is the best way!
Richard Vargas no its not these techniques work slightly better than sauna
that why you always stay in shape and live at the weight you fight at .it less wear and tear on the body ,
norm paul does he look outta shape to you ?😂😂
you can be in shape but there also fighting shape
norm paul I don't think it's about that though.
Yes it gives them an advantage but it doesn't pay off all the time.
so many questions...so little time...
1) why is he in a bathtub doing crunches?
2) what did he poor on himself in the bath tub
3) why is he using a card to scrap himself?
disclaimer: i know he's doing a water cut to make weight in a fight. Those questions above are directed to people who know the mechanism to why it helps cut water faster.
2:36 we see u tryna flex for the cam
