Hola🙂, What you say surprised about Chile is the same thing that we Chileans are experiencing with sadness. In the year 2000 I was in Europe and Chile was not very different in cost of living and public safety than for example Spain or Italy. But politicians left and right have been creating laws to destroy our country by imposing abusive taxes to force prices up. Bringing marginal immigrants and criminals. In Chile you didn't see people living in streets and parks and now it's full. Politicians are waging war on us. And it is not only in Chile. There are countries like France and others that are going through similar situations. We are living in difficult times and Chile is one more of the Victims of globalist politicians. So if you have anxieties about these situations, I express to you that unfortunately we Chileans are feeling and living the same as you 😔😕😓
We Iranians, like you Russians, are looking for immigration and staying in other countries for almost similar reasons. Chile was one of my destination to review the video, but it seems that it is not comparable to a place like Portugal or Spain or even Cyprus, and my opinion has changed completely. Thank you for sharing your comment.
I must confess it was hard to hear what you think of Chile, mostly because it's true. Chile was once a much safer country. It was never Europe-level safe, but many of the experiences you described rarely occurred. In fact, many of us ackowledged we had problems to solve, but we used to think Chile was on its way to become a fully developed country. Sadly, things began to deteriorate, slowly at first, and the real decline began a few years ago.... It seems we have fallen into the same trap as every Latin American country: inability to sustain progress..... and illegal immigration has not helped. I liked your video very much and just subcribed to your channel :)
HI Just found your video and though i know there are unsafe areas anywhere you travel, I can appreciate your honesty. It is at least a real perspective from your experience and you are not sugar coating it also Sorry you had to go through all that thank God you are safe . Great video. Be careful out there and god bless, Stay safe. 👍👍🙏🙏🙏 btw your English and Spanish is excellent!
@YTC518: no, it is not unsafe everywhere one is traveling. there are more dangerous areas/countries in the world and less dangerous ones. in Germany (basically the dominant center of Europe) and most of its culturally like minded neighbors you have no problem to run around with your smart phone - also at night everywhere. there is also no car jacking and other stuff. of course crime exist but on a much lower level which has a huge impact on your mindset and how you behave. high crime rates lower significant the life quality and often ppl are not aware about how limited their life/freedom is due to that ...
In other words if you're poor its awful!if you're rich it's amazing!!😊its a beautiful country! 😍 i lived in Arica were my father is from 😍 im very lucky to live in England now my mother's country?and its really great 😃 but i do miss the country and food in chile😊❤ thanks for shering Nicole 😊
I agree with everything except the title of the video, it's mostly the pros & cons of living in Santiago which is the second most expensive city in South America (after Montevideo, Uruguay) and also it is the most dangerous city in Chile, only some cities in the north of Chile are as dangerous (Coquimbo/Antofagasta maybe?). I was originally from the south of Chile which is considerably safer (Concepción) although not without some crime. Cities like Concepción, Valdivia or Temuco might not be as big as Santiago or have as many things to offer, but you can live well without as much problems IF you can secure a job. Like you said, it's harder to find jobs in these cities, but if you can, it's a good option that should be mentioned to immigrants more often. Plus the south of Chile is beautiful, nature-wise. The lake district, the river district, all beautiful areas, but yes, the difficulty is jobs. All in all this is a great video to show to anyone planning to move to Chile because you are honest with all the pro's and con's. Well done!
It’s interesting to note that, based on the 2023 data, Chile’s GDP per capita is higher than Russia’s. This difference could impact the perception of prices, as purchasing power and the economic structure of a country can influence the sense of costs. It’s crucial to consider these disparities when comparing prices and understand the economic context of each nation.
I enjoyed your video, and the opinions of Chile you pointed out in your video. Comparing Chile to Argentina do you think Argentina offers a better quality of life, because it’s a much cheaper country to live in.
Thank you! I have not been in Argentina yet, but people seem to go there more because it is easier to get Argentinian passport than the Chilean one. And from the Russian immigrants to Argentina, I have heard only good reviews
Thanks for the info my brother is planning on emigrating from the Dominican Republic due to the rampant crime. Would you recommend that he make the move?
I would recommend him finding a job here first before moving and have some extra money to survive here for at least 6 months As for the crime rate, yes, I do believe Chile is safer
Not surprise they are trying to get people to live there cause loads moving out thanks for this review was really helpful if there is so much cons why u still live there why you not go back to Russia
@rain: yep its cheaper than the US - which you could already have known by listening just to the video and calculating the currencies from Peso to Dollar ... but it s only cheaper if you have money (savings/income) from the US of course (or have a job in a company with a higher salary in Chile)
yeah, don't wanna ruin you're bives but, Chile is way too expensive so i would definitely advice you to go back to Russia or move to some other Latin-American country, saludos👍
from a German point of view 1 Euro/Dollar for a ride is cheap (in Berlin its 2.20 Euro for a short ride, 3.30 Euro for a longer ride). On the other hand if you live from social welfare (means you get your rent paid and about 565 Euro (600000 Chilean Peso)) you can get additionally a cheaper monthly ticket for 9 Euro - which is over a month of course much cheaper than 1 Euro/Dollar per ride. Students and similar status ppl can also have cheaper tickets. Everyone could also get a 49 Euro ticket and use every train/metro in the entire country for a month (with the exception of high speed trains which are not part of that deal).
To every single person out there whos thinking coming to chile, forget about Santiago. Big city, contaminated, not very safe, even more expensive, no beach, horrible weather. Go north or south.
Santiago is Chile, but not the real Chile, it's trying to be a mix of an European &/ or American lifestyle. Once out of the populated central regions, it's cheaper, cleaner, and more friendly, than Santiago ., Valpo areas
Your video is not accurate at all starting with the salary average, which the minimum salary is 360.000 2:50 If you feel super unsafe why you live in Chile? Better leave right? Anyways saludos

If you want to be in a safe part of Chile, you must live in the south
unfortunatelly, too expensive for me now :(
Santiago is known for being SUPER EXPENSIVE and DANGEROUS. Maybe try a cheaper, safer city like Concepción!
Nice aspects, I appreciate the input. :)
Thank you!

It's just statistics, most tailored "science"
hey can you make one of these videos on Russia? I'm really curious how much it truly differs? 🙏🙏thanks.
Sure! will plan one for later

En términos generales SI,pero no mucho dependiendo donde vivas y donde compres.

No, unfortunatelly I have many more years ahead of me to be able to get their passport. Family reasons :)
800 pesos is $1 , that's alot?? What do you pay in Russia??
~50 cents or even less if you have a moth/year pass for public transport (Moscow)
