Trust me, your not way over thinking this… a few years back me and my dad tried to pop one of these SOB’s together, and it took us a week and a half… when we got our new barn installed over double the size we hired them to do it and it took them 2 days… well, a day and a half..
The relationship you have with everyone you work with shows how much you value there efforts amazing man we could use someone with your values in our management....
I switched away from gopro from to much lost footage from overheating and just random fails. Went with the osmo action 3 and couldn't be more happy with it. And the 4 is even better. Way longer run time and have not overheated one yet. Plus they are cheaper with much better customer service.
Your breaking my heart with this video lol. We manufacture PEMBs, those carport style frames are the jokes of metal buildings. First 80mph wind and they kite.
Some of them small engines have low oil cutoff. I know this because we may or may not have blown one up on a masonry wet saw once. It would cut off, but we could start it again. Until we couldn't.
I don't know if anybody in the comments said this before, but you should look at the Dji osmo action camera because by what I have researched, they don't overheat and do better in low lighting, the only difference from the gopro is camara quality but it so minor it really doesn't matter.
Working in a precast concrete plant, I've watched some of our guys on smaller forms use that hammer drill trick a time or two. We pour a very different mix from the sack mix you used, but it works really great in a pinch.
Nice Job so far, you,d think they would be able to mark part numbers on the parts to make them easier to Identify. Also maybe mark some critical lines to facilitate critical dimension locations so your not left guessing. Your excellent is showing with detailed dimensions you are calculating and noticing the error and taking the time and effort to Make It Right and showing us on Camera. Well done looking forward to the completion an in future episodes where you can look back and smile. 😀👍👍👍
I am so glad you had this video out I just turned down a job building this almost exact system and I would have lost money by doing it so thanks Ryno!!!
One of the issues with the GoPro is when you are recording in 4K. The operating temp for the GoPro already technically maxes out at 95°F and recording in 4K drives the temps up of the camera itself like crazy. When I record on my Galaxy for example it will tell me to not record more than 15mins to avoid overheating. The Problem with the small form factor stuff and the high resolution.
@DMAXRYNO hey give that honda engine a tune up, it's actually easy bro, you can also change the jet in like a couple minutes with just a 10mm and a flat blade screwdriver, put new plug in it too, I guaranty it will run like new again lol, I love them hondas, i maintain them at work literally every season, I can guide you through it if you want too.... or have your Bearded Buddy 😆 do it.... oh and Thank you for the Videos and teaching me something
I worked commercial construction for around 10 years and within the first year, the company I worked for banned stereos on the job after some guys got into a fight over a radio station. The advent of wireless headphones certainly helped but they introduce their own problems onto a construction site.
Ya, headphones can get annoying when talking to people or them trying to talk to you. Most commercial sites around here have giant signs at the gates saying no music, no cussing, etc. No thanks. Kills morale in my opinion.
The super wide made that 5 head of yours even bigger 😂 keep the content rolling love all the construction/building content along with the truck content
I think it's virtually impossible to overvibrate with the rotohammer . The issue with overvibrating with a regular concrete vibrator is that all the aggregate sinks to the bottom, and the top is only concrete slurry. That messes with the stability of the element, and can create gravel pockets in the bottom part of the element. However, the amount of vibration a rotohammer puts out, combined with where the vibration is applied, shouldn't be that big of a deal. But hey, you live and learn, next time you'll remember this pour and vibrate a little longer. Every project is an experiment and a learning opportunity.
My only comment would be do not worry about the finish of the stem wall. This is just a canopy to shelter your equipment. No one is looking to grade your cement work finishes. If this was for someone else then yea, but this is for you and only you. JMHO
I haven't been able to watch for a while... last time I saw was probably 2 years ago when you had drift trikes at warehouse. In California you need 18"? I think in New York we might need 4'
They could absolutely just patch and float the whole thing out, but that's probably way more work than it's worth for the curb on a carport that isn't even next to the house.
Keep using wide view angle mode on the camera please. A lot of us watch your videos on television instead of cellphone. Plus we see a lot more of what you are trying to show us. So it works much better for all of us to see.
It can cause too much water to rise to the top and give a weaker top layer. However, you really have to vibrate it a lot to get to that point. Considering the consequence of not enough vibration is to compromise the structural integrity of the concrete, it's always better to go more than less. That said, for what this wall needs to do it wouldn't matter much either way.
@PRC533 I am not a concrete guy I'm an electrician. Occasionally we need to install our own bases for poles. I use the hame drill technique and I still get voids even though I hit it a lot. Way way more then in this video. Didn't know if I was going too far with it.
The alternative vibrating techniques only work on forms that are relatively thin and shallow. If there's much thickness or depth to the pour you need to use an actual concrete vibrator that goes into the mud to get proper consolidation. Generally, you focus on the areas that you know the concrete will have trouble flowing into such as around reinforcement and embeds.@@jadebrecks
I put together a couple of buildings like yours but put them on the big cement blocks, they were made by a local company but they just kinda zipped right together. They do decent for what they are, better than the cheaper canvas top arc ones they are TRASH!
👀 👀👀👀 I honestly like the super white view better. You should always filming that view because then we get a better perspective of what’s going on around you.
The comment about not playing music. It’s really not that bad. I love music and I’m even a drummer, I have a jobsite radio and a pair of work headphones, I forget to grab them most of the time and work for hours without music. And I work alone 90% of the time so it’s not like I can’t have it because I need to talk to someone
Don't you just love ambiguous directions ? Don't worry, it'll turn out just fine. When you're looking from your porch you won't notice if it's a 1/4" off somewhere. 😉
I bet ur OCD is hangup.. those guys who put that stuff up. Hammer shkit up.. close is good. Most people won't notice stuff off a little. Make front side good..back side don't see much be off or something like that
Crazy how much time, effort, supplies, knowledge and money is needed to build something that seems so simple. Great job!
You can also use a sawzaw without the blade to vibrate the concrete
Trust me, your not way over thinking this… a few years back me and my dad tried to pop one of these SOB’s together, and it took us a week and a half… when we got our new barn installed over double the size we hired them to do it and it took them 2 days… well, a day and a half..

Papa Rino is the real deal with concrete . I remember working for block masons . Too wet too dry !
Dude I'm glad you put this video out. I'm in the market for one myself. It makes my decision easier seeing it done firsthand...
I love my Hercules mini impact. We use it on our semi truck for assembly of customers furniture we take apart for shipping
A skid steer would fit nice between the mini x and the tractor
Duuude...That jerky was killer. Really didn't expect much from TH-cam merch but damn... nailed it.
Whats up Ryan? Appreciate the videos and the whole WORKFORIT movement... the only way of life!!
setbacks like that drive me crazy, that's why i dummy fit everything first. As a fellow OCD so i appreciate the attention to detail.

Tell your company to send me one!
@@DMAXRYNO did you receive the last reply? I’m not sure if it went through or vanished. But we can definitely arrange that
@@waldroop11are you the owner of the company? I’ll definitely need a good company when it comes time to build the big shop.

Take cement and sak patch with a sponge trowel will give a nice stucco type finish
Working in a precast concrete plant, I've watched some of our guys on smaller forms use that hammer drill trick a time or two. We pour a very different mix from the sack mix you used, but it works really great in a pinch.
These sack mixes seem to have changed over the years as well, much grittier.
The wide view worked a treat.

Loving the content as always.

Brother you work with a great team and these types of vids are cool to watch
Papa ryno! What a stud!!
a sawzall without a blade work well to vibrate the forms too!
Nice video! Awesome way to explain it, papa ryno knows his shit.
Papa ryno is a baller man. I love the videos but papa ryno makes them great. And Dave. 🎉

Aloha 🤙🏼 my friend from Las Vegas it’s been a week that I been watching ur vlog
If you run out of concrete like that in the future run a trouch through the footing to lock your stem wall in

The Milwaukee vibrator works great for concrete
Bone conduction headphones might be worth it, get your music and can hear what's going on around you since nothing is in or on your ear.
There are quite a few alternatives to gopro for much less money and just as capable, look into it.
Ryan, have you seen the new DJI cameras? I’ve heard they are the better GoPro. Maybe worth checking them out!
Come a long way since you've moved in. Loving the ranch stuff. How is progress on getting the front gate/drive in order?
love the video's bro........... pop a few rivets into that thing

Where to do you find concrete guys who don't cuss/ smoke weed and drink on the Job? I don't think I would trust them honestly if they were sober.
I've worked with a lot of great concrete guys and none of them ever drank on the job.@@taterhater2086
Lighting is definitely my passion but man does concrete work intrigue me!
I work my Kioti parking break with one foot push and heel the lever.

Great job 🎉
The mixer sits a lot. Dump a bunch of sea foam through it and clean that poor baby out.
I’m surprised you don’t have the Milwaukee m18 concrete vibrator ryno
Love your videos, always entertaining! Have you tried DJI Osmo 4 camera? Temperature operating range goes up to 113 degrees and it’s about $400
Missed the notification but I'm here now...lets goo
Palm sander for vibration no sand paper!
I would imagine the roof cap in the center would allow for a bit of fudging on the roof edge overhang.
I believe that’s correct, but without building one, I don’t know the level of tolerance we have.

Put one of those harbor freight motors on the concrete mixer. Maybe they will send you one???
Have you thought about switching over to DJI action cameras?
Papa Ryno aka The Sultan of Finishing
Whats the working time of the concrete your using? How long do you get before you can no longer manipulate it?

Can you dry mix the concrete and rub it in the ruff spots and smooth it out? Just a thought I did it on some things I've worked on myself.
They could absolutely just patch and float the whole thing out, but that's probably way more work than it's worth for the curb on a carport that isn't even next to the house.
Is the kioti emblem upside down on the steering wheel?
Maybe you can leave the dirt a little lower so you can gain clearance height for you tractor

DMAXRYNO YOU SHOULD MAKE 2 VIDEOS.
We are in a mild climate compared to you and our GoPro constantly overheats. It’s the worst.

he did it roughly in the middle of the video.
