I was treated with IV antibiotics for Lyme Disease 4 years ago. I had no idea I had Lyme and my symptoms of muscle and joint pain were thought to be caused by my cholesterol medication! After 2 years and many different cholesterol medications, I decided that there had to be a reason for the joint pain, muscle aches and memory issues. I was fortunate to find a doctor who believed me and sent me to an Infectious Disease practitioner. I still suffer from strange neuropathy in my hand and wrist, I have arthritis in just about every joint and unexplained low-grade fevers. Some days are good and some are not. I continue to struggle with the daily aches and pains, but I am a whole lot better. As a Martial Arts practitioner, I have had to change the way I practice my art and it just makes me angry that I had to go so long without treatment. As a P.S. to all of this....I found out that I apparently had co-infections with the Lyme Disease. No one ever told me this! The struggle is real.

Doctors that treat this are scammers and shouldn't be practicing medicine. Non--
Doctors that treat this should be jailed for practicing without a license.
Lyme literate is just another word for quack.

I think there's no better Doc out there who can advocate better and stand up for what is right with Lyme and coinfections than him. I just think it's funny because he has proven he is right in so many ways the other side of the debate just can't beat him.

The current tests are horrible. I was tested twice with the Western blot and ELISA, but when I was given a test the accurately the text the specific DNA of the Lyme bacteria, it came back positive. Without long term antibiotic treatment, I would have been in my grave a long time ago. I'm still struggling with it, but I'm definitely a lot better then I was years ago. Not treating it for the sake of the environment, as the one doctor said, is risking people's lives. and as doctors, their objective needs to be the treatment and well being of their patients. The EPA will take care of the environment.

@ Gabriela, my response is late and I hope you're doing well. My experience with Lyme was that I had an insufficiency with minerals and vitamins. Especially vitamin D and B12. As i used to be on asthma meds found out they cause vitamin D deficiency as well. Those with brownish skin , elderly, chronic ilnesses like diabetes etc. should also make sure to take enough vitamin D and B's as some insulins and stomach acid reducal meds systematically drain Essential vitamins from your system, which on the long term can cause many ailments. Why doctors don't mention this beats me, but it's outrageous, as they're fully aware of these side effects with certain meds. I only found out after going through hell myself and being diagnosed as underfed in hospital and after many hospital visits. After a long, very scary and painful struggle I got diafnosed with Lyme's disease after visiting a German therapist. I couldn't afford the expensive therapy any longer but i'll sum up what has somewhat worked for me, hoping it might be of help for someone that reads this.
      Pain relieve:
      # PEA (palmitoylethanolamide) capsules or cream with added MSM, devils claw
      # Foot baths with either magnesium powder or natrium bicarbonate taken after dinner for at least 45 min. Make sure the water stays nice and warm.
      # Tiger balm cream also for sore muscles
#Oil pulling with coconut oil for relieve of parodontitis, tooth aches and helping clear Candida infections.
      Shortness of breath:
      #Resveratrol
      #Vitamin c Ascorbic acid
#Carefully breathing in essential eucalyptus oil also known as Minyak Angin
#Eating citrus but mostly drinking juice of 1 lemon mixed with water a day. This is also beneficial for your bowel en losing toxins.
      #Buteyko breathing excercises.
      Heartrythm disorder, irregular beating:
      #Magnesium taurate capsule
      #Resveratrol (OPC's)
#Q10 supplement every 3 months or when symptoms occur
Someone i know has had great tesults by taking a heart supplement which contains the above but also L-arginine and vitamin E.
      Omega 3 (algae supplement)
      Stomach issues/pains:
      # Eat as many bitter veggies as possible like artichokes, aspergus, chicory, carrots, beets and celery. They'll support your liver in getting rid of toxins.
Also try to eat purple and red fruits if you can. If you can't tolerate fruits well it might be clever to find out if you have Candida. Many women have an overgrowth i found out. Caprylic acid, coconut, oregano, Pau d'arco tea may help. Also try to avoid food with sugar, processed red meats especially pork as it can cause arthritis. Eat fat fish like mackerel. Brazil nuts are fulled with selenium which can also be great support for your immune system.
If you can try eat 3 a day, according to Stephen Buhner that's your daily need. As far as i can remember.
      L-glutamine powder/probiotics supplements (goat yoghurt/kefir)
Chlorella, spirulina might add great benefits to your bowel and all over health as well. It's wise to start chlorella carefully as it can cause Herxheimer effect.
Try to often eat chicken broth.
I also use Curcumin for inflammation with added pepper. I often make tea with ginger as well. A cup of green tea, nettle leaf and 'kumis kutjing' kidney tea can work wonders when suffering from bladder infections or kidney stones. For the infections i also use D-mannose, vitamine C or cranberry.
In case of acid reflux take a look at betaine and or Iberogast.
There are also herbs that benefited me in actually attacking the Borrelia, but i had great Herxheimers with them. They were Andographis paniculata, Cat's claw.
I prefer to support my body and drink at least 2,5 liters warm cooked water a day as cold beverages are harder on your liver and digestive system. For more support in fighting many inflammations Ribes nigrum tincture, Vaccinium myrtillis, Juniperus and Cynara scolymus tinctures worked miracles for me as well. I have many more tips but it's probably too much to read. I thank God for all wonderfull herbs as i wouldn't know what i've done after being sent away by doctors who neglect the serious symptoms i've had many times.
I wish you well and hope your not intimidated by my list. To be honest i didn't use the tablets tinctures all at once. Luckily the tinctures last to up 6 months at least the ones i buy here in Holland.
I wish you and everyone else suffering from this ....disease great health, bless you. Hold on.

But what can he do? He can only have objective tests taken and then decide based on the results whether a person has a disease or not. Doctors can't go around making judgements based on empathy. They have to follow the medical course.

    • @zoesrensen4323

The problem is that most doctors don't have a clue about what a damaged immune system is doing. If your immune system is at its lowest it can't build antibodies and this is the reason why you can have negative tests. I'm still going through the process of finding out what co infection is destroying me and my brain but bc of my immune system we do not find a quick answer. But I believe that I have the best doctor in Europe Dr. Kenny De Meirleir in Brussels and he is fighting for his patients! I'm now waiting for my results and a treatment plan...

I wish Halperin would get it and then someone can ignore his symptoms and tell him that "objective fact" Sorry no good !
Widely accepted testing here in Canada has been show to be so inaccurate that it is useless ! "Controlled Studies " so out of over 3000 patients the "scientists" only picked 56 people. (why so few) Why is he so vague. These doctors need to help at all costs.

@ Gabriela, my response is late and I hope you're doing well. My experience with Lyme was that I had an insufficiency with minerals and vitamins. Especially vitamin D and B12. That's what was found in hospital after getting diagnosed with thrombosis.
As i used to be on many asthma meds i found out they cause vitamin D deficiency as well. (I'm off asthma meds now and doctors can't figure out why my exczema, coughing and hayfever have gone).

My aunt for example got neuropathic pain in her feet which are as goos as gone after taking B12 tablets.
Why doctors don't mention this beats me, but it's outrageous, as they're fully aware of these side effects with certain meds.

    # Tiger balm cream also for sore muscles
#Oil pulling with coconut oil for relieve of parodontitis, tooth aches and helping clear Candida infections.
#often a hot water bottle held at the liver can be a great support as well. It was even acknowledged by a surgeon i visited.

I started many of these after being thrown of bèta blockers by a doctor while i was still having heart rythm problems.
    Stomach issues/pains:
    # Eat as many bitter veggies as possible like artichokes, aspergus, chicory, carrots, beets and celery. They'll support your liver in getting rid of toxins.

#Try to avoid food with sugar, processed red meats especially pork as it can cause arthritis...
#Eat fat fish like mackerel as much as you can.
#Brazil nuts are filled with selenium which can also be great support for your immune system.
If you can try eat 3 a day, according to Stephen Buhner that's your daily need. As far as i can remember.
    # L-glutamine powder/probiotics supplements (goat yoghurt/kefir)

#Try to often eat chicken broth.
A little apple cider vonegar also works wonders. I often gargle with it when having a sore throath.

In case you get sent away with gallbladder stones the way i have for a period of 5 years. It might be beneficial to take a look at a product called Resium. Be careful with it though. Start in low dose and see how you feel. It took me 9 very painful months to get rid of excruciating pains in my gallbladder and spleen area, but i'm sure this product aided in it.
Oh, in case of skin burn, itchyness immediately wash in cold water and add honey it will instantly relief the pain and will likely prevent blatter.
For other itchyness skin ailments try aloe vera and when not allergic propolis or royal jelly.
I wish you well and hope your not intimidated by my list. To be honest i didn't use the tablets tinctures all at once. Luckily the tinctures last to up 6 months at least the ones i buy here in Holland.
Also very important if your eyes can stand it. Sun light (natural photons) and fresh air. When possible try to walk outside. When i barely could move myself i often stretched my legs and wiggled my toes to better the blood flow and held my legs higher on a foot table. Some movement is valuable for activating your lymphes. You can also scrub your legs with a dry brush upwards down. Start at your groin and work to your feet.
I wish you and everyone else suffering from this ....disease great health, bless you all. Hold on. Remember natural products often take longer to take effect. Sorrt for my bad English.

What we have here is choosing between two bad choices. One is ignorance, the belief that Doctors are God and we really do use science (which they don't) and the other is a case where if you have a hammer that doesn't work for the job at hand use a bigger hammer for longer. It takes more then killing a bug to repair the damage the spirochete does before it dies. It is a process of rebuilding the body and correcting the biological terrain to overcome this disease. Lyme is bad enough why does Dr. Horowitz think creating a super strain of it with antibiotics is a smart idea. In 20 years we will all understand the folly of this approach. In the meanwhile find a Lyme literate Acupuncturist or Naturopath and Heal yourself.

    • @andrewpickles3875
      @andrewpickles3875 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Actually the majority of anti-biotic super bugs are coming from our farms which have been using either penicillin and tetracycline in the feed stock for the past 40 or so years which makes no sense as we just end up cooking our meat anyways. Also when using antibiotic combinations bacteria are not very likely to become resistant.

Acupuncture may help some with the pain & open some of the healing paths but I am SURE this is NOT the answer!! Only if you yourself have Lyme will you understand... I've seen too many people backslide QUICKLY who have tried to only treat naturally so to the ones of us who are still alive who treat with antibiotics I think WE have the answer!!
