@@tH-ym3nw well be besides Scott practicing 12 days of Christmas. Scott, Matt and Kevin did an interview and also revealed that they’re doing amazing grace, Thank You and Joyful joyful. I also heard from someone else that they heard I saw three ships too. Mitch did mention it’s a long setlist. I’m guessing because they have last year’s album that they never got to tour also. Plus some of their old favorites from albums past.
This is the song that had so many people debating the "hidden" meaning of the lyrics until the composer finally had enough & said in an interview that it wasn't about anything deep or historical at all really. He saw a group of kids playing, just running around playing follow-the-leader & such, had a flashback to when he was a kid playing with friends, & that's the inspiration. 🤣
Although this is one of their older video's it is absolutely one of my favorites. I was so surprised by this one, and every time I watch it I'm still amazed. Even when I watch their video showing how hard they worked to get this right I find myself shaking my head saying I could never get it. I have the "I can't walk and chew gum at the same time." syndrome!🤣 🤣
The "AVILANCHE" yesssss. His voice comes down like a avalanche. I love him so much!!! And yes so much different with good headphones. I'm finding that my favorites by them are when Avi goes crazy lol.
I love their deadpan faces and lack of eye contact. You can catch an occasional smirk from Scott and Mitch. I wonder how many takes it took because they were cracking up
I love the body percussion in this and Avi in my ears…omg. They make it look so easy but singing in perfect harmony, timing and doing body percussion is a serious skill 😊❤️🎶
5 unhuman voices of 5 people that are so talented. PTX is just magical, especially at Christmas time! They actually have a video on how to do the hand stuff!!!! Another fun reaction by you!! Love and peace out community.
We did this with our choir. Singing is ok. Doing the rather complex clapping patterns is ok (there is even a PTX tutorial on TH-cam!) But singing AND clapping is the hard part!
This song gets to me every time and I just loved how you reacted to it! Read how they ended up doing the clapping process. I think there is even a short video about it.
Avi's bass was so prominant in this one, it was so good! You really need to react to PTX's The Grinch, as I saw another reactor do it and not even 10 seconds in he paused it and said "HOLY SH%T! LOL
You might enjoy their behind the scenes of the filming of this. It shows how difficult it was for them to do the clapping without messing up. It’s funny.
Going to see Pentatonix this month on the 28th in Pittsburgh pa. Can't wait to see them live!! Been watching your reactions and I love your energy and enthusiasm you have for them. Pentatonix rules😀💜
This set off a whole chain of small choir groups doing exactly what PTX just did in this video! Just look it up on TH-cam! So many videos of this! There is also a video of PTX practicing the hand movements that's fun to see! Thanks for this wonderful PTX reaction!
I am so jealous you are going to the Christmas concert! We’re from NY but live in Florida now….first time I’ve wished I was in NY in the winter so I could go! This is one of my favorites! You need to check out God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen…it’s amazing! Have a ball at the concert! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just to remind you I'm still here watching the clock tick down, you sadist! I've been dying to see you react to White Winter Hymnal, now if I can only hold on a little longer!
Oh you haven't heard them when they get off then 😂 it is not pretty. When I saw them in concert they opened with Daft Punk and it was... not good at all and I was so sad and super worried but they bounced back and killed the rest of the concert.
@@erikdarman591 yes, exactly! What they do is so incredibly hard and unfortunately when you get off it's hard to get back when it comes to a capella, especially in that setting.
@@taraqueen6954 Great, that they bounced back so quickly 🙂 They are beyond amazing most of the time, but they sometimes they have a worse day. I remember them saying on one interview, that the thing they are often scared of, is having a bad day, when they are to perform live. It happens now and then - and it takes only one of them being sick, unwell or simply tired for the performance to go south. So I'm glad for you, that they had only a rough start and then it went smoothly, so you could enjoy their talent 😁🥰
I just shared my experience to be a first fan of PTX when I was in middle school year 2011 and that moment I joined choral group. They're inhuman voices super, they're my inspiration to practice more and more 💯
You really need to do VIP! Make the sacrifice; it’s worth it! I was able to deliver to each member a Christmas song package that contained music I wrote for them at VIP on 7-3-19! Though Scott, Matt and Kev ardently promised to listen to the piece, I never heard from them. I truly believe PTX’s handlers 86ed the packages. I don’t blame the group; they were mid-tour. I just think they never saw the packages after I gave them out. Oh, well... that’s show biz. Oh, and I CAN write... I’ve won my division on the mammoth American Prize competition chamber music division in 2013 and came in 3rd this year I’m the Pop/Light Music division for my “Four Elegiac Songs In The Time Of Covid”!
I would love to see a behind the scenes video of this. Can you imagine practicing those slaps, claps and snaps? I’d bet they were on the floor laughing more than not.
Scott channeling his inner lumberjack-AviKaplan here 😂 (if I remember corretly, Avi brought this song to the PTX table, it's by the indie-folk Fleet Foxes, they have a very distinctive sound to them)
I absolutely love this song! Gorgeous harmonies and the body rhythms are so cool! It took me a few listens to process how gruesome the lyrics are though haha. Go back and listen to the lyrics and it's not the winter wonderland vibe it seems to be
Yay you did this one I love this song! I'm here to beg you once again for you to react to coldest winter, god rest ye merry gentlemen, little drummer boy, and whatever other ones I can't remember off the top of my head! Thanks for your great reactions always!!
There is a tutorial video of each of them doing their percussion bit individually and then all together at the end (th-cam.com/video/Di9arwudttg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=PTXVlogs ). It's amazing how the different parts combine to give the full effect.

Hey Travis. Not that I'm counting but I'm down to 17 days until my concert date. December 4th I'll finally be in Connecticut seeing Pentatonix live. I'm up in the nosebleed section on the side of the stage so I'll be kind of close. I wish I was doing the VIP too. That was my Christmas gift to my daughter in 2017. Scott and Mitch autographed her CD and shortly after the concert she got their autographs tattooed on her arm. Whenever your concert is hope you have a great time!
You should do 12 Days of Christmas, Scott shared a tik tok of him practicing the song for the tour. I also think Kevin said that they were performing Joyful, Joyful (although that one doesn't have a video, it's just audio)
I haven't watched PTX lately, but I love their older stuff. This is one of my favorites. Avi has such a warm tone to his bass. Not sure if you have listened to any of Avi's solo work? It's a different genre but I love his music now as well.
There's some songs that would be good, but ordinary good, until Avi lays down that beautiful bass foundation that makes the whole thing so full. This is one of those songs that is great because of Avi.
Not to make it worse but if you just found them earlier this year then you’re actually 10 years late. They celebrated their 10 year anniversary of the first time they all sang together earlier in June this year. So glad you’re hear now though. Easily one of my favorite reactors. Also you Hęaring them for the first time again with new headphones was me when I bought a new car and started playing them with an obviously better sound system then my previous car had. It was like hearing the new and improved version of a group I already thought was so great.
To answer your question posed on the thumbnail: "Is there anything PTX can't do?": Yes, of course. When you saw their Sing Off video of "Video Killed the Radio Star", you got a hint. The first song they were trying to arrange wasn't working. So yes, there are some things PTX can't do. What do they do about it? They don't do it. The songs they CAN arrange, they do so masterfully.
Hey Travis, been enjoying your ptx journey. You should react to away in a manger, it features lots of body percussion, Kevin sings in it and is one of the few videos done as a quartet.
I am a new subscriber Travis,as I watched your wonderful reaction to the sensational Guy Sebastian and I adore him,he should be without a doubt a universal star. While I am at it please watch a video of him in America doing a tribute concert to Smokey Robinson .It will blow you away.
Their cover of 12 Days of Christmas is a MUST because it was confirmed that it would be performed on this tour!!
If you are unaware, PTX is in pitch perfect 2. They play the Canadian team.
I discovered them through that and thought they were Canadian for the longest time😏
You need to do 12 days of Christmas next since we've seen Scott practicing it for tour!
I was gonna ask if anyone knew what the line up was for the tour so travis could make sure to react to all of them before hand.
came on here to suggest this!!
