The LC 300 GR Sport in my country is 7 seater by default with the rear sets fully foldable to be completely flat. So both 5 seater and 7 seater. In the UK as well its the same, idk why they went with 5 in Australia
Should this be available in the US (non-diesel variant), I would highly consider it. Take care of it and it will last for twenty-five, thirty years, and it makes plonking down the admission ticket more palatable.
Unfortunately because not many people bought the 200 series, they are only going to offer the lexus variant and the next gen Prado in the u.s which it's going a hybrid sharing the tacoma's engine
We only get the diesel version and it has a third row plus the two screens. Both of those items are hardly used. My other LC 200 also have the screen and they still have the factory plastic.
@The Waldfe ypu obviously don't have a modern 4wd with air suspension. Trust me it's the best set up, and u don't get defected like with a 4 inch lift, or have a jacked up rear to cope with tow bar loads, which is illegal also. Anywhere, it's you're choice. Enjoy!
The 300 Series GR-S has 1131 litres of cargo bay volume (no 3rd row seats) compared to the 200 Series which has 1276 litres with the 3rd row seats stowed away. The 200 Series is therefore positively cavernous when the 3rd row seats are physically removed. An Isuzu MU-X with third row seats folded flat yields 1119 litres. So the 300 Series is really lacking in terms of cargo space, especially as the 2nd row seats cannot slide forward, like they do on the 200. Which is a bit of a shame because the 300 would be an excellent expedition vehicle, but it can't carry as much as a 200 internally, and the low roof load capacity means that a roof rack isn't going to easily solve the issue of reduced cargo space inside the vehicle for those used to the 200's significantly bigger volume.
Would love to see this compared to the new First Edition 2.8 70 series, as well as the V8 70 series. Can’t find anything on TH-cam comparing the 2 let alone 3

Really, the GR is not best rough offroad when you can't fit a winch without doing a suspension upgrade compared to the VX! Surely you mean 10 speed transmission not 10 speed torque converter?
Thanks for the review. Seems, looks and sounds like it is a great vehicle, But in my humble opinion Toyota is taking the piss charging $150k for it. Over 2 Hiluxes, 2.5 Pajero Sports etc etc. Someone commented "bet you wish you could afford one" to another comment. Four sorts of people buy these, amazingly wealthy egotistical, manhood deprived, height deprived or touring 4wd guys and my guess is the last type are in the minority.
I work at a Toyota dealership in Perth (pre delivery detailer) we sell a lot of 300 series, it makes me cringe when u see them come through with cream interior, cream leather, cream carpet, even cream carpet FLOOR MATS that get dirty just looking at them. Obviously these owners never intend to let their tyres touch sand let alone mud or gravel. Probably about 1 in 5/7 will get the extra rubber floor mats, and out of probably 50+ 300's the dealership has sold in the last year there was ONE that come through and it had no carpet, just a rubber floor covering front to back similar to what the 70series comes with, and black rubber floor mats and it made me smile, I thought finally someone buying the car to use it for its intended purpose. So I believe you 100% right in the type of people who by these cars, with the touring 4x4ers being an extremely small minority.
Thank-you for the review. I do wish reviewers wouldn’t brush over the tech deficiencies of these vehicles. The screens, software and tech is left wanting for a flagship vehicle in 2023 - especially at these German luxury prices. (CD players, WIRED Apple CarPlay, poor screen resolution and functionality - IS THIS REALLY THE BEST TOYOTA COULD DO?) What would I change: 1) Add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 2) Fix the front screen resolutions and UI design, so that it looks like it’s from this decade and complements the rest of the vehicle advances. 3) Replace the CD with two wireless charging pads. (I don’t know - maybe families have more than one mobile phone.) 4) Replace the poor quality rear screens with tablet mounting kits. (Anyone who can afford these cars can certainly afford new iPads every year - plus, kids like to watch different shows at the same time - less fighting.) 5) Add a high-speed 5G wifi network to the vehicle. (The owner could add a data sim for internet access.) 6) All variants should have the Heads Up Display HUD. Other than these, I think the vehicle is a great improvement in design and capability. As a gr owner I don't care about the screen, I do care about the software being buggy and needing to turn off the lane assist and turn on the cruise control every time I start the car.
