- Fort Lauderdale is often referred to as the "Venice of America" because of its numerous waterways which connect many homes and neighborhoods to the Intercostal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. One of the great ways to see much of Fort Lauderdale when you visit is to take the Water Taxi, which is a hop-on-hop-off tour of the Fort Lauderdale area. Also, you can learn interesting facts about the city as you go! We spent a day exploring the city together as a family.

Thanks! I'm going with my toddler and no car, so this might be perfect for us. I know my son's priority is always finding a park, so I cheered when you guys found one. lol
We absolutely MUST find a park no matter what! Honestly, we do tons of things on our channel, but our daughter just wants to go to the playground.

Was there a spot to put strollers at in the taxi?
We were able to wheel the strollers on and each vessel had a slightly different requirement depending upon the size.
My family and I , are going next month . We have 3 and 1 year old . Do you think we need a car . We are staying at the w.
You might be able to get away with walking if you do this water taxi tour, but stuff is not super close together, honestly.

Good point. I guess they were credited with founding the town because right behind the house was the first post office and trading post.
