Exactly. People always try to compare sanji and ussop, but ussop's attacked luffy because of his own insecurities, sanji did it to save his friend's life
@@affordablex4914 he knew it couldn't be saved, he just couldn't accept it. Usopp doubted luffy, not realising he loved the Mary as much as he does. Luffy made a decision as a captain to let the Mary rest, the crew obeyed, Usopp refused. There is zero ways that Usopp is justified here, he got into his emotions, didn't trust his friend, betrayed his captain, and jumped into denial
His reason wasn't a bad one, but I wouldn't call it justified. Zoro was right. Insubordination towards one's captain and crew can literally be the difference between life and death for everyone when the chips are down. Ussop's defiance, while understandable, was nothing short of immaturity. Sometimes being a man is having to make hard sacrifices, and Ussop refused to accept this, despite his supposed desire to become a man and strong warrior of the sea. Even if his heart was in the right place, he disrespected his crew, and also his own dream. He has since grown out of this after the timeskip. We all need to be given a wake-up call to grow up sometimes. His just happened to be at the hands of his captain, and his willingness to sincerely learn this harsh lesson is as admirable as any other feat performed by the Strawhat Pirates.

Ussop didn’t fight Luffy for himself, but to try and save the Mary.
