  • Welcome to Bay Fair, home to some of the best views of BART's trains from either direction as they enter and exit the station. In this footage, we see legacy trains from all three lines that pass through Bay Fair.
The station is a transfer point in the system, where passengers can switch to and from the Blue Line to catch trains heading for Dublin/Pleasanton or Richmond/Fremont.
The station is part of the original leg of the BART system, which opened with service between MacArthur and Fremont on September 11, 1972. It gained a third line in 1997, when the Blue Line was added to provide service for the Dublin/Pleasanton extension.
The station today serves a wide variety of passengers, from regular commuters to shoppers at the nearby Bay Fair Center, from which the station gets its name.
Sidenote: Not every clip featured in this video is in 4K, and we do apologize for that; the reason why is because we wanted to zoom in really far on incoming and departing trains, and we can only do that with our video camera (Pasasonic HC-V180), which doesn't support 4K. Most of the clips, however, are in 4K, because we filmed them with a phone (LG V40).
