I admire his honesty and talent! It takes a real person to admit they fucked up with stuff like he says he did with some of his own tattoos on his body and how he tried to deal with it. He is really relaxed and I think he would be excellent in making sure what you get is what you like and need.

I think the idea that he's trying to express is that he likes for his clients to have trust in his artistic vision. When you pick a tattoo artist you should have a pretty good idea about what they do, and trust them to execute the best possible cover up. It's not like a client explains that he wants a Hello Kitty cover up and Kamil busts out a demon, it's that, especially with a cover up, a lot of work is done on the fly adapting to the tattoo that has been there previously.

Hello from the future. I've got one of those. It's technically a great tattoo, but the experience of getting it was so unpleasant and icky that I hate it. Doesn't help that it's actually somewhere super visible to me when I'm hanging out on the couch, minding my own business. I'm going to do something about it. I haven't decided what yet, because I don't want to think 'adding a kracken will make it feel okay' and then have a kracken and a tattoo I still feel awful about. I've talked to another artist, and she's really enthusiastic about doing something to make me not hate it. Its my body, it shouldn't make me feel icky. If you go to an artist and they aren't 100% enthusiastic with your reasons for covering a 'good' tattoo, find an artist who is.

Could be just because its darker than your skin. You know dark ink absorbing more heat than the rest of your skin.

@@sabbathjackal honestly I didn't even think about that haha I'm very fair skinned so that makes sense. It takes up a good portion of my upper arm as well.

If your tattoo is heavily saturated with a full heavy cover and no room to breathe with any lighter shading or skin breaks etc, it's definitely just because those sort of tats absorb more sun. Stress less 🙂

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30)
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. (Psalms 51:1-4)

If your niche is not cover ups...you have no business doing them. The same way grey style artists won't do a color job. Why be mediocre when someone else can do it great?
