Pyke is corrupted by all the dead sailors who were wronged by their crew mates, hence the list keeps growing.
The Sinking City is where the dead of bilgewater go to, sort of like purgatory

Though I like Pyke being somewhat of an obsessed killer, I wish he was more so like Kalista. Where Kalista is retribution for those who died on land, he could be vengeance for those who were wronged at sea.

this is pretty much bilgewater version of Kalista

Bro I liked that guy that narrated the stories
I did too. Liked how the Pyke narration tied it all together that it was the same guy, telling stories throughout a day in the tavern. Essentially, that he was bullshitting everyone (getting his one gold kraken from Nautilus in one story, from Fizz in another, and from Kench in another) and was an unreliable narrator.
He might be accurate in regards to their behavior, but he wasn't actually involved with any of them almost certainly..

reminder if you want the blade to glow you can press ctrl+5 to toggle the blade
its control 6 control 5 is the mastery button
I'm pretty sure it's ctrl+5 not 6, 6 is the mastery level and 5 is the toggle(/toggle), I usually spam the toggle

Man the guy from bilgewater legends survived nautilus after fisk supposedly took the offering, had to deal with fisk pranking him and even more, and now pyke kills him... Rest in peace man

Would nautilus know of Pyke. Both being drowned and killed by their respected crews. The main difference is how they get revenge. When they died, as nautilus died due his crew fleeing while they let me descend into nothingness only. Because they didn’t pay their fine to the sea. However Pyke seems to be similar but of fear not because of the fine but because they became the hunted.
Ps sorry if I got any info wrong it’s been a long while since I read nautilus lore
I think both died for the same reason but nautilus unlike pyke is being manipulated by the jaull fishes magic so pyke just keeps on killing for revenge while nautilus sorta has a more passive route

The leviathans are most likely altering the list so that it adds the name of the newest victim. They're more than just dumb fish after all. If they can possess extreme intelligence, magic isn't really a stretch either.

Pyke talks too much about a new “boss” to just attribute it to the sacks of magic oil that are in the fish. The giant fish had to have brought pyke to the bottom of the sea to some sort of city where the blue light creatures inhabit
Possibly the blue light of an angler fish creature? And pyke just couldn’t see the body of the main creature because it’s so dark at the bottom of the sea
