Proof that great artists admire, respect and appreciate each other no matter their respective backgrounds nor line of work, this clip was 1-derful, Thank You !!!
In Robert Merrill’s version of Honeysuckle Rose, he works in Rudolf Bing - General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City from 1950 to 1972.
Good old Ed he was the coolest and classiest man to bring on,entertainment to his show I mean like Elvis to the Temptations he had a open door 🚪policy he brought out entertainment it won't be another one like him really really big show
Totally agree. He was way ahead of society at large, which was still deep in the throes of segregation and extreme racial suppression. Sorry to see that still in force in certain sectors of current day. One Could get more deeply political, but just trying to enjoy these 2 iconic masters. No one had horn spirit like Armstrong and Merrill had the most gorgeous baritone voice, in the opera world. Unsurpassed, both.
Not a duet I'd ever expect, delightful.
