I think you should have killed purple at 45:14 and smashed greens 71 stack for this purpose... with good dice on that and the 4 extra cards from purple I think you would have won the endgame vs Green... but who knows ;) Thanks for the content Sir
Your work style inspires me. Not working a full time job for a single income but having multiple different way of working that u enjoy that together makes a joyful work day for u is really inspirational
That's quite a compliment! I've never been the type of person to simply accept what I'm told as true. I want to try things out and figure out the world to understand it on a deeper level. Just because the model for most people is go to school - get a good job, punch a clock - retire. Doesn't mean that that's the model that makes sense for me or what would lead me towards the most actualized life..
45:00 Pete, looking at the troops counter, 95 v 71 of green + 14 of purple for the 4 cards would be the winning move here. Slight risk with the troop split in Indonesia but with the high troop count and potential attackers advantage definitely worth the risk I feel.
You can tell he's thinking about it. I think he decided it was too much of a marginal play because without a good blitz roll he would get destroyed by the green 41. In hindsight though, being as green and purple had started to team anyway it would probably have been the correct play.
@@monkeymandoomteller yeah a bit risky indeed troop-wise but after that block I would have definitely taken the risk since green has camera animation on anyway so even if we would fail the kill on purple, or are too short stacked after the kill, pete prob could've grinded him out in 3 turns or so
Yeah like the others had said If I would have been able to predict that I would be getting teamed on I would have done that for sure. So in retrospect my read on the situation was wrong.
Watching this reminds me of how my games suffered watching Pete play fixed (my win/loss went down considerably). Fixed is a slower art form. I got better (or back to normal) watching Riskyfil/Cosmic Cowboy/Mr.Slin. Pete is best to learn from when you're working on Progressive skills. He's a Progressive beast. His talent is twofold in that he strategizes in holding multiple positions/ stays grey rock until the other players look vulnerable and valuable enough for back to back kills. If he's playing a larger map his wins are also strategized around speed (purposely targeting fast players/keeping slow players alive for 1v1)-His speed is primarily gained from his mouse/keyboard setup.
I've thought about it but the problem with commander on yt is that mtgo is a terrible client and arena doesn't support it yet (or ever?) Also since magic isn't ranked the same way there's no real way for me to 'prove' that I know what I'm talking about.
Is there a way to look at the history of a game? I've had a couple games where people were getting more troops than I added were possible. I do play with capitols and I think that adds 2 per cap but this guy got 32 on turn 2 Europe advanced. When I later did the math there was just no way he could of had this on turn 2 with what I could see. He was getting 10 troops more than the max. Start of the game you can see quite a lot of area. Max being what he could of got with 5 players and what I could see territory wise. He only could of had France/Spain plus 2 caps. I thought long about this and 22 would of been a stretch but possible 32 was not possible. It seems to happen more with fog of war on. People tend to get these crazy hi bonuses. I'm 10-15 my first 25 online games with 5 of those being these super sketch games where people get huge early troops. For comparison on Turn 12 he got 18 troops while having what looked like more territory. Am I crazy?
You say you are Pete but how do I really know. Who is Pete anyway. Are you the real Pete or are you an impostor? Maybe the real Pete doesn't even know he is Pete. Am i Pete? Maybe we are all Pete.
Really enjoying the daily vids man, maybe if you waited longer with your bonuses, u couldve gotten your army stronger and then killed whoever threatened to break you
I think he could have won if he killed purple anyways by rolling green’s stack hoping for a decent attacker’s advantage and then just outspeeded green in the 1v1, but feel free to correct me if someone thinks otherwise
At 23:00 you say you are a skill full player. Which you are a good player. I'm noticing a lot in these games, winning or losing actually comes down to the lack of skill on other players. Like there will be a clear leader and they still attack a player lower on the totem pole. Or they are angry from earlier in the match so they will kamikaze you so neither of you win. Playing as a pacifist and trying to not make people angry actually works better than playing strategic because retribution in this game is fine if I can't win neither can you.
Bad move betraying and underestimating green at the end there. Had a kill on purple if he wanted to and more troops. May have been slow but he was smart and just a loyal ally. He may have also been making a play by closely allying 2 other players so he gets a 2v1 situation at the end by waiting.
Also look how conservatively he defends south america and africa by keeping it to 2 stacks. South america probably won't fall that way and he can counterattack from his stack in Africa well should it get attacked, especially after merging that other stack to do the job.
Tbh forget the 2 ally strat, he was probably just trying not to piss anyone off and waiting for a time to strike when a conflict emerges and stacks go kaput, which is also a good strat.
Hope the punishment is mild for reggie, cats dont associate yelling or hitting with their own behaviour, especially after more than a couple seconds. Thanks for the vid.

I understand why you named the video this now. Rough ending… When two players team on you, even if you’re the leader, you’re toast if they play it out right…
purple was clearly not a good player, so it was definitely a blunder to make the obvious threat against them. Bad players will always just suicide into the person that threatens them, causing you both to lose.
Responsible drinking, healthy living, and botting out in fixed. Pete is setting a great example for the younger generations.

I should have just killed all of purple as soon as they hit me.

Really interesting to hear you came from magic. The correlation between the two logic basic strategy games would be really interesting to see.

The most relevant factor is that I played a ffa multiplayer version of magic so I'm very comfortable with the strategic conversational metagame.
