What a amazing guest!!! So smart and he literally makes me picture in my head whatever he’s talking about that’s how good he is at talking and explaining these interesting things in my opinion. Plus he has a sick job !
Like when they catch something just holding it in their mouth absolutely still momentarily with an occasional growl ? Yah that's what my girls cat does
U can train a big cat to see you as a provider and not a good source. You can't tame a wild animal but u can teach it. So think cats who love and bond with their owners aren't thinking about taking them out
I don't know why I'm just finding this, but I remember him talking about this expedition in his earlier episode. It's so cool to think he found what he was looking for. Not only was it extinct, but just seeing him hopeful about finding it only to see he accomplished his goal is inspiring. This is what I've been interested in doing for years and hearing this man speak only gives people hope that not all is lost.
I mean like 99 percent sure the reason that jaguar has a look of “pure terror and ferocity” or whatever is because we developed fears of these traits to avoid predators
To be fair it was in the middle of killing something, just looking a jaguar in the eyes while it’s just looking for water or going to it’s den wouldn’t be scary unless it’s like two feet in front of you
Colombian conservation biologist Sergio Balaguera-Reina discovered the caiman a month before Forest. Forest heard about Sergio’s findings and where he exactly found the caiman and went down with a camera crew to find these caimans for his TV show and claim that he found this “extinct” animal. Sergio discovered these caimans first not forest. Sergio deserves the recognition. FYI these caiman species were known to be there in Colombia the only reason they haven’t been seen in 30 years was because that whole region was controlled by the drug cartels. The ecosystem was untouched by people for years because of it.
When i was younger my parents friend we called crazy chris had 4 of these in his basement, his basement was dedicated to reptiles. He is why i love reptiles. If you thought a full suit of armor holding a sword was cool when you walked in then you notice alligators and his caiman's that were his pride and joy.
100% agreed, if it exists (or existed), has a humanoid'ish type body shape, if someone from a period of time (25, 50, 100 years ago) were to see it standing, what else would they describe it as? On top of that, researchers and investigators would be looking for something else when it comes to remains of this creature, they're not looking for a giant sloth.
Bring back Monster Quest Lol. I'm so hopeful we haven't whacked all these awesome animals for stupid shit reasons. Good on ya for having the belief and straight up hardcore big ball tenacity to go into these regions of conflict or sheer rugged inaccessibility to look for these animals.
I'm watching this episode right now he's my idol and all those kids while he showed them a pic of the fossa wow I've watched all his episodes I'm his absolute biggest fan literally Forest galante please comment !
At first glance I thought that "forest galante" was the name of this caiman species! I was like "Wow! A terrestrial caiman living in the forest! Cool dude! I never heard of this animal before!" LMAO!
@@SteveMe21685I always wondered something ever since I was a kid. Idk how people are able to eat other predator animals like bears and crocodilians. Obviously if it was life or death situation I would eat them too, but otherwise the thought of eating them almost feels cannibalistic in a way, like eating another grest ape specie. idk, maybe it's just me lmao

Cats [big & small] in general are usually pretty possessive over food. Those eyes are basically just saying ‘Izz want cheezburger!’ Something seen everyday in my house.
It's crazy hearing about the sloths when they have a skeleton of one in Florida and a park near where I live with a very close depiction of one and they were around 20ft tall and weighed roughly 5 tons. Fuckin units
I live in Palm Beach County Florida and they were clearing some land to make farming land and they found a giant sloth the University came and took it away probably ended up in that museum
Basically this guy is a Pokémon master going in trying to find legendaries
@I'll figure it out are you serious? it is exactly a genetic trait. you dont use your peripheral and pay attention you gonna die.
I love you 😭😂

You should come to Australia lmao
Forrest Galante’s wife: “How long have you been cheating on me!??”
Forrest Galante: “Not very long at all. Only 10 years.”
“Calm down, that’s peanuts compared to our time on this planet as a species”

Not the same exact eyes. Those eyes on the Jag were prepared to die for that kill
Same
Ok Long it probably doesn’t seeing as cats form emotional bonds with their owners and don’t actually just use them to obtain food.
U can train a big cat to see you as a provider and not a good source. You can't tame a wild animal but u can teach it. So think cats who love and bond with their owners aren't thinking about taking them out
It’s so crazy to me that Jaguars literally prey on fully grown caimans. Jaguars are nuts
If life was a giant stadium, jaguars would be sitting in the "not fucking around" section.
Even though they’re cats, they’re in no way pussies.

The Jaguar pic takes death roll to a whole new meaning
Crocs do more spinning and chunk ripping. These do more fish catching and swallowing whole.
Joe was joking about having hooks on the caiman but peep the Jaguars feet 🤣 2:35
@2.34 Sounds like Joe describing the fight between Khabib vs McGregor... 😊
I have a feeling that these massive sloths are the same as the big foot some people claimed to see in the past
Except for the fact Bigfoot is supposed to be from the Pacific Northwest and not the fuckin Amazon rainforest
Gigantopithicas was a real animal so anything is possible

Joe “Look At That Thing” Rogan
For a moment I thought it's actually some new species (as none were actually extinct). It's recognized as a sub-species at least for now.
Yes, however this was thought to be extinct.
There is footage of Tasmanian tigers that is pretty damn convincing.
