That was pretty classless to say about an opposing kid. Wow!
That one play didn't lose the game 🙂

Smh. He acted ridiculous. I mean that's embarrassing. He should be embarrassed and yes very classless to say about an opposing player.

looked like over the back to me. The UCONN player was jumping into the space of the Memphis player--not jumping straight up and high-pointing the rebound. I agree with the previous comments---very classless comments to call the other kid lazy in that situation.

that's messed up to say the Memphis player made a half-assed effort when he was clearly trying to rebound and block out. just talking about the other player's effort isn't a good look. it's D1 basketball

Even if it wasn’t a great call, Hurley, throwing a tantrum is a really bad look and he should be embarrassed. He should be embarrassed for talking about a Memphis basketball player like that. I hope they fine him big time.

The calls that are bad happens in all games because the referees are imperfect people and from time to time make bad calls, for the leader of the basketball team to make these comments is wrong and childish. If the adults in the room speak this way, what can you expect from the youth he is suppose to be leading. Terrible look and no clasd exhibited by this guy, the university should be ashamed of his comments..

Looked like the Memphis kid was blocking out. It was just an arm at first, but then he drifted into UConn players body once the rebounded was secured.
Maybe that’s why coach felt it should’ve been a no call? Memphis kid never truly obtained a solid blockout.

McNeely didn’t even touch the defender. He grabbed the ball with no contact. That’s such an egregious call at that point in the game and to slap a technical foul on top of that really shows that the refs wanted to dictate the game in overtime which is so unfair to the kids. UConn played bad defense and probably still didn’t deserve to win but I could reference a bunch of other awful calls including the blatant elbow to Solo Ball’s face that was called a blocking foul as part of the reason why OT was completely mismanaged by the refs

I don’t have a dog in this fight but Memphis out toughed and out hustled UCONN. Danny is used to out toughing their opponent, and when that didn’t happen he got his panties in a wad. He was shouting expletives at the refs from the jump. He was begging the refs for a T all game long. It’s amazing he didn’t get one earlier. In my opinion he should have been tossed a long time ago. His line about his player having a ripped jersey because he was being held all game is bunk. If you watch the replay at the 16:50 mark of the 2H #35 commits a charge. Is frustrated because he has to come out the game and when he gets to the bench he proceeds to tear his jersey apart at the neck. I see a team of players with anger management issues that feed off their coach who also has anger management issues. He needs to recognize that and reel it in or they are going to be a team that loses their composure in big moments just like tonight. Hats off to Memphis who matched big shot for big shot and matched UCONNs intensity. UCONN fans on their bball forum are smarter than Hurley. They realize he cost them this game and also point out Hurley made some poor choices in the rotation and played a bunch of pansies the first 4 games. They got punched in the mouth tonight. I agree the over the back was a weak call. And there were other questionable calls but he lost any goodwill from the zebras early on because of his tirades. He should be fined for his comments about the refs in the presser. No place for it.
