I inherited a ring from my grandmother almost exactly like the last ring. The only difference is the one I inherited uses yellow gold. I'm so happy I managed to snag that ring before my grandmother lost all her beautiful jewellery in a break-in. She was a jewellery designer as well and knew the value of good jewellery and always stocked up with the intention of passing it to her granddaughters and daughters in-law 😢
I literally have the last ring, it lasted only a matter of months before 3 of my smaller stones fell out. I ended up just putting that ring up and we purchased another ring.
Without even considering durability, my ring includes all these elements! I got a vintage piece with low set stones that are set in a bezzle setting with small stones around the center stone. I wanted a vintage and also wanted something I knew had already stood the test of time, and I now see why it has done so as well.
I changed my high profile prong setting to a bezel setting and it was the best decision for me. The prongs kept catching on sweaters, and they loosen over time. The bezel looks so clean and the stone still looks great.
They look so elegant and sleek, don't they? I did the same - I had my dream Asscher diamond in a four-prong setting and I was constantly paranoid. I took it to be remade in less than a year because I couldn't cope with the stress. (I spend a lot of my time with dog leashes in my hand, and we had big dogs at the time! I wanted something pretty indestructible.) And I got the goldsmith to add little windows into the side of the setting ensuring plenty of light goes through the centre. *chefs kiss*
I am a very clumsy person that uses my hands constantly at work and in my free time for all sorts of projects. I'm asking my man for a bezel low-set round natural diamond ring. I've spent a very long time browsing stores to see what I like, and wow is this ring not only beautiful, but it seems durable too 😊
My ring is Black Hills Gold with no stones. The cuts in the gold makes it sparkle but it doesnt get snagged on anything and is great for me as a contractor who works with my hands
I have a ring in the third style. Managed to sheer off some of the claw tips. Not sure how. But at least I didn’t lose any stones. And it was 9 carat white gold; I knew I was a hazard.
What is the best cut to maximize a sparkly/brilliant look in a bezel setting? Which one would be more brilliant in the bezel setting, diamond or moissanite?
My engagement ring was a traditional setting. And I used to work with children. And I am also a little clumsy. Long story short we had to get another one that hugs my finger and so far so good. I haven't been able to repair my original ring yet though.
You recommended the band itself to have at least 1,8 mm in thickness in one of your videos. Does this apply in general regardless of the metal used? Or is it possible to go a little bit thinner with a more durable metal like platinum?
I think it should apply regardless of metal - you need some strength to your ring if you plan to wear it for a lifetime. Less metal = higher likelihood of breakage = higher likelihood of losing stones.

Hmm yes, very good information Me, who doesn’t plan on getting married, and even if I do I’m just going to get a simple band because it’s cheaper and still looks nice:
I am gonna save this, so when I get a boyfriend, and feel like it is time i can share this innocently so that he can get me what I want. Until then ...
Personally, I absolutely hate a Bezel setting. If I'm going to have a beautiful diamond, I want it to refract light and shine as much as it absolutely possibly can.
I've got a few questions and a possible good video to make. In the Bible there are 12 stones God mentions Jasper, Sapphire, Chalcedony, Emerald, Sardonyx, Sardius, Chrysolite, Beryl, Topaz, Chrysoprasus, Jacinth, and Amethyst. What is your favorite out of these and how would you personally set it and or design it?
I know they aren't fashionable and tend to have smaller stones, but I will forever sing the praises of flush-set gems in everyday wear rings. Mine is antique and still feels so solid
I think they’re fashionable! Just not very well known/popular for engagement rings since you can’t really set a large stone flush. I think they’re fabulous and very durable! Really great for wedding bands
Why would anyone want a Princess Diana inspired engagement ring? Yes, it's pretty, but the way that marriage went... Like it's great for any other occasion, just not engagement or wedding.
low profile rings make so much more sense to me than traditional ones! i know I'd get my traditional ring stuck everywhere lol

That’s so sweet. I’m glad you got it before it was all lost 🥺

Haha yes and particularly with the halo, certainly not saying it’s invincible but more that it’s protective of the main stone!

Yay! 🙌🏼 fantastic. Vintage is lovely

As someone who was a jeweller for 13 years, these are great recommendations and good comments on the pros and cons of the different settings
Thanks! 😊
As a florist, I find these so helpful. I will definitely keep these in mind when my boyfriend and i are ready
I only found you after my man asked me to pick out my ring 😅 and I'm very glad you and I think alike cuz I picked out a pretty solid build
I am so glad I found this channel because I love sentimental jewelry and it would break my heart if my engagement ring got damaged…
As someone with ADHD, I bump into things constantly, this is super helpful
😊👌🏻awesome!
i love these videos alot for someone whos not planning on getting married. i think its just fun to watch someone know so much.
I love the low set! I feel like it wouldn’t get caught in my hair so much

I prefer the feel of low profile rings anyway :)
Lovely choice of content thank you. Bezel style is known as a rub over setting here in the UK

I got a band as an engagement ring! eternity ring of channel set baguette diamonds, same as Queen Letizia of Spain.
I just realized that the promise ring my girlfriend got me is a really protective style which is actually so perfect for me😭😭
I have a ring in the third style. Managed to sheer off some of the claw tips. Not sure how. But at least I didn’t lose any stones. And it was 9 carat white gold; I knew I was a hazard.
I actually liked the protective styles better anyway

I’m a teacher (and a bit clumsy🙈), would you recommend the second style?

Could you do a video about complimentary wedding bands for different engagement rings?
Sure ☺️
My Mum has that exact ring at the end - Halo sapphire ring. 💖
What engagment rings/styles would you recommend that doesnt have a large stone. Like really tiny stones only
What should you ask a jeweler when getting jewelry cleaned?

Hmm yes, very good information
Me, who doesn’t plan on getting married, and even if I do I’m just going to get a simple band because it’s cheaper and still looks nice:
Ik opal is really weak and bad for a ring on the daily but I just love opal sm!! 😩😖 I think it’d look really cool in bezzle style
My mom also has that exact last ring
Would blue sandstone be good on a engagement ring
I can’t imagine life with a high set stone. How do y’all function?!!
If you need help figuring out which is right for you or want to order one, email us at hello@thebijoulab.com 😊
I had a ring with 2 bezel set stones. Both stones fell out within a month and on the same day.
I am gonna save this, so when I get a boyfriend, and feel like it is time i can share this innocently so that he can get me what I want. Until then ...
Am I going to get engaged soon? No. Am I even able to afford fancy ass rings? No. But I love learning!
And I love teaching! Welcome 🤗
Shorts seems to think I’m getting engaged. Well, maybe I’ll stop getting so many ads for tinder and hinge…
I have no money for this but:
#1 is a no for me
#2 is surprisingly cute
#3 is pretty but I would only wear it to like a fancy dinner o an event
Hahaha I guess my ring's just gonna break 😂😅
❤
Personally, I absolutely hate a Bezel setting. If I'm going to have a beautiful diamond, I want it to refract light and shine as much as it absolutely possibly can.
Get what you like best 😊

Diamonds have no real value, it's all marketing Wise up people.
If it chips and not worth it when you sell it. Then i really dont know what's the point of it.
Seems worthless
