    Great job on the install. I like the new Allen head hardware you used to fit the new header. It looks really sharp and the car sounds great. I like how the header looks burnt in.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too, I love how it looks bronzish but after it gets burnt it looked rough, like a mean rough. I had been wanting to try the hardware to spice up the look of the header since the old nuts/bolts look so worn out.

    Great install video as always jon! Love how the wife is their rolling wit you and loving it! That's so cool! Been wanting to upgrade my exhaust cuzz im still running the original exhuast and exhaust manifold but its really starting to show its age with little leaks on the pipe towards the muffler! Sounds like your yellow crx sounded when you frist got it. Great job as always! 👍✌☝

      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hate that farting sound, lol! And man it was so fun that she came out! I have a little more footage of that in the next video which really made me laugh so hard! What kind of header/exhaust are you thinking of going with?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a tough one trying to find that piece. Might be difficult. Another option would be getting the ebay exhaust for your car, maybe it's like $100 also? Then get a muffler of your choice welded into it instead of the crappy ebay ones. That way you'll have all mandrel bent piping and I bet it would be cheaper than having a muffler shop make one which may be a crush-bent system.

    IMO the test pipe made a much bigger difference than the header upgrade.
    One thing I do like about the header is the stainless collars around the allen bolts - that should make everything much easier to remove in the future.
    Traction bar upgrade was cool. One of the few mods I never did on my Civics.

      Garage Built Hondas do you feel a real gain with tube heads vs stock manifold? I have a 2001 Accord Ex with 3.0 J30a1 engine and just did exhaust work, did cat delete, kept stock resonator and no mufflers.

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ACDC4201 definitely! Mine probably wasn't as big initially since I already had a header and exhaust, but it's now more free flowing. On a stock system, freeing up that power will add some HP easily. May not be a ton but with quality header & exhaust you'll make between 7-15 potentially.

    • @ACDC4201

    i got the same header and i was able to fit it in with the oem crossmember (i had to actually lower the crossmember). im going to buy a traction bar though so i can have more room for a future turbo and also i think im getting vibrations from the header resting against the oem crossmember

  • @R3Devi7

    Just having trouble upshifting from 2nd to 3rd in up 4k rpm. No problem downshifting tho. I think last owner slammed that gear lol

    Im torn between the innovative traction bar and the Ktuned, i love ktuned products and to me looks a bit better, what would you suggest?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I prefer the Innovative. I like how the Innovative bolts to the original crossmember locations. The Ktuned bolts up to the tow hook mounts, I didn't really like that at all.

  • @stunnasam21
    @stunnasam21 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Gotta run that Innovative front torque engine mount too. The motor will barely move and really cuts down on wheel hop

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      stunnasam21 I'm gonna look into it. The Innovative mounts I have now seem to work pretty well. The extra stiffness would be nice.

    • @stunnasam21
      @stunnasam21 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Garage Built Hondas there's an adaptor bracket to bolt up ($25), then the mount itself ($110). I don't know if they come in different bushing stiffness. Mine feels like the 60A. I got them both off swapshopracing.com.

    Oh awesome once again. I do plan on getting a traction bar as well for my EJ1 B20z1 coupe and maybe a SKUNK2 IM. VERY curious about that dyno man. Let's see what some bolt-on's and a good tune can do with a stock B20z :)

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm kinda nervous that with the skunk2 IM, TB, header and test pipe I'll make like 7 extra HP. That would royally be a let down! lol I need to convert to obd1 also so I can have it tuned. That'll be the best option I believe for it.

    • @roelpastors9588
      @roelpastors9588 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ithink you'll make more looking at how restrictive that cat was. I think a good 10HP increase at least considering the bolt ons. If not then it's def the tune so yes OBD1 conversion , and then Chrome or Hondata. Either way I'm on the edge of my seat :)

    • @GarageBuiltHondas

      If you're on the edge of your seat, I'm damn near falling off mine!! I'll get to the dyno soon!

    The speed factory burnt titanium header studs would look good with that header after it changed color. They look a bit more durable as well ,imho. Great vid tho. I'm doing a b20vtec rebuild and I think I'm gonna go with that 1320 toda header now too

    • @ExtraMustardTiger
      @ExtraMustardTiger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like that the header has gussets on top of the main runners where it meats the flange to prevent weld cracking. Looks like it has stepped tubing also. The flange looks thick and heavy duty too. Just looks like a solid product!

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jon ive had this traction bar for quite a while now havent installed it, how many threads did you end up goin with on the radius rods?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't count the rotations. But it was at least 2/3rds the way all the way screwed into the radius rod. Since I have energy suspension LCA bushings, the LCA's really didn't move when I removed the fork and radius rod, so when I installed the Inno rods and bar I barely moved the LCA back a notch when putting on the rods.

      I don't want to leave links up there as they expire eventually but I got the header and test pipe off of ebay. The seller is actually the 1320 company. You can find it by searching "b header toda 1320" and it has the option for a test pipe or not for a little extra dough. I bought the traction bar from Sparktecmotorsports.com. They had the best price on it when I got it about 3 weeks ago for $248. The header is usually $265ish. Test pipe is about $30-50. Mine wasn't from them as I bought it about 2 years ago off of ebay but had never purchased a header until recently.

    Hey awesome video. Can I ask you a question. I did a b16 swap into an ek and I put a header on and left my catalytic and resonator on. a day after my check engine came giving me a code for the cat. So I went to a muffler shop to ask about it and they told me that because I'm running headers the extra heat burned it up. Is this actually possible? And if it is would a high flow cat last longer?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn't sound right at all. Extra heat? I would look into that info first, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt before saying its BS. A high flow cat won't give any extra longevity, better flow and a little more power, yes, but not last any longer. Look into the header creating more heat. Let me know what you find, I'm interested in knowing if its a myth of true.

    What 1320 headers did you get. I want to get some for the B20. But I want to make sure the runners match the port on the head. I’ve herd like gsr or b16 headers won’t fit due to the ports being little bigger. 1320 has one that says for CRV. I’m sure those will match the ports but not sure it will fit ok in my 91 EF Si
