Till today, over 50 of these trains are still in service 6 years after their 'reached' lifespan. But I think their refurbishment kind of helps them to run a bit more as they are good unlike the SIE which is getting worse since they are not refurbished. Still good to see most of the oldest trains still running even with more R151 trains
Yeah, their mid-life refurbishment has definitely allowed them a bit of wiggle room to operate beyond their lifespan, compared to the C651s which are being retired much more rapidly
Very well done video, I enjoyed every second of it! Besides a few typos and errors, this is by far the best educational video I've ever seen! You earned a subscriber 😃👍
You're right, I deeply regret the mistake. I've also realised that there are several other mistakes in the video which I would like to correct in a future video. Perhaps when the C151s are close to complete retirement, I'll remake this video with more accurate information, and in a slightly more formal style.
Apart from the minor Electrical quirks and quirks of their braking system on the C151, they have been otherwise rugged and reliable for the last almost 40 years. No issues riding in one even as late as 2023/2024.
It's sad so see a train serving for 35 years is going to be gone. And the worst part is lta not even bothering to preserve them with their both old and new liveries. Just like how they did the same to their non wheel chair accessible buses. Not only the c151 are going to heaven but also the c651 and c751b. With 0 trains containing the original old white and red livery and 1 containing the red and gray and black livery. I don't even like the sound of the r151. It sounds like a monster breathing in the sewers. it's just sad that LTA would not preserve this long lasting Rolling stock of Singapore just like the old buses. only some old buses of Singapore were preserved in overseas and in here. The buses were preserved in here are Leyland Olympian 2 axle Volvo super Olympian Volvo b10ble A front part of the habit in woodlands mrt In over seas Half scrapped Mercedes sbst 0405 in Thailand Leyland Olympian 3 axle in Hong Kong Volvo super Olympian hong kong
It is unfortunate, although I do believe that a few C651 carriages have been preserved for use by the SPF for training. In any case, I do agree that more can be done to further the preservation of Singapore's transport history. I myself have written to Bukit Panjang CC to request the preservation of the BP LRT C801s, and luckily, I received an enthusiastic response. We'll just have to remain optimistic and hope things will change :)
You're correct, unfortunately I didn't spot the error whilst editing the video. Perhaps one day in the far future I'll make an updated and higher quality version of this video, since I've since realised that there are several errors in it which I've addressed in the pinned comment :)
I know, I edited the photo slightly to make it appear more similar to the unrefurbished C151. Unfortunately I have no photos of the unrefurbished C151s.
Correction: The second train in the Clementi Rail Accident was set 121/122, not 131/132
You forgot to put a crash sound effect, it would be a bit better but I'm going to do it myself.
Ok
Bruh why a pmsm ser
Another correction: It is R151 not CR151
@@angelevil1006it used to be CR151 until they change it to R151 because of the cross island line
2:48 i like how u made it look like the 2 c151 are gonna collide into each other

U also forgot about the change of colour in the covers above the window, when it first refurbished it was white now its black
Wait, there was a decommissioned c151 in 2007!?
Apart from the minor Electrical quirks and quirks of their braking system on the C151, they have been otherwise rugged and reliable for the last almost 40 years. No issues riding in one even as late as 2023/2024.
Nice work!
The music is the best thing i have heard today.
HAHAHA Thanks! I must admit I went a bit overboard on the classical music, but I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
@suressh lol I was on the edge of my seat with the 1993 part 🤣🤣 🤣
Before C151 refurbish, C151 look like C651
what remains the same is the interior C151 doors
Do c651 history
4:25 big rip for the C151 that also happened to C151A
Yes. Now 051/052 is scrapped.
The C151 lives on in the form of diecast from Masterpiece Collectibles so we can own a piece of history!
I thought the train spoil when I was riding the pmsm train for some reasom
I think C651 is not in EWL services

I don’t want C151 retire
Sad news. Lta will not bother about you and all c151s will be scrapped by 2024 sadly.
Ik it’s nostalgia but they have to retire sadly due to the train is old and LTA is trying to replace their trains to electric and newer ones
Nice but can you do one for C651?
You have earned a subscriber!
Were there any other Transit vehicles used for the SAF like Set 301/302?
Can u make a video of the 2 c151 cars
Would be good if there's narration, great video tho!

I'm not sure, it will take some time to film as I've got a lot of studies to deal with at the moment. We'll just have to wait and see...
