1 year later : as an INFP in an ESTJ world

You’re in my head! As a fellow INFP, I feel the same. I went on a trip with my bf (at the time) and his family for 5 days and it led to a big fight and we broke up. It was so hard trying to blend in with his loud ghetto extroverted family for five days in a row. And because I didn’t want to cause conflict, my boundaries were crossed and it just created so much tension on the trip.

I'm so sorry this happened! It's a hard thing to do, voicing boundaries while also not causing conflict, especially if that's not you're usual way of being. it's emotionally exhausting. It's unfortunate how we are expected to change ourselves in these situations, while other the more extroverted people just seem to have it right, they don't have to try to understand the introverts.

I understand all of this. Being introverted in the west comes really close to being a disorder imo .. I can get drained after 10-15 minutes of conversation so a full day at work around others leaves me completely zapped every single day . I spend so much time just recharging only to do it all over the next day. Btw this introversion tends to harden or strengthen as u get older.

My aunt, a psychiatric social worker, and my mother, an RN, disciplined me from an early age to express myself. I was quite content working alone on a project.
My grandmother sent me a letter when I was a junior in college, suggesting I learn a trade after Enginering School.
I chose to be a "project person" after college and went into the world looking for customers with an imagination. As a designer/craftsman I spend a lot of time alone either running errands or in my shop. My social skills were forced to develop in order to succeed.
Now--- do extroverts have a rich imagination?

Sometimes I feel that overly extroverted and I expressive people are acting, that level of energy isn’t sustainable.
