    Nice ponderings and wondering on our feelings.... I too have noticed more cry sessions at seemingly random songs, movie scenes, and just experiences with people. They are not "babish" .. I never thought or think about it that way... or an immaturity... but wonder if it is the opposite and maturity of emotional intelligence... just as logical ah ha's and insights help us make sense of our world and universe..... but the key is language and having a name for each of our emotions .... and connecting it to the experience, memory, and to other feelings and experiences..... to like you are doing tryong to make sense of them..... I want to explore and read all of Brene Brown's books .... but especially her last ones on her mapping and naming the 87 emotions. Keep on crying, its good to let it out ... and being in the feels 🙃

    Ahh, I really think it's a privilege to be a deep feeler. I think with everybody, this stuff works its way out, just in different ways. Sadly, I think a lot of people construe and express their feelings as anger because they don't know what else to do with them. I also think that, as a society, we place greater value on happiness (even though it can be quite elusive and mysterious) than on sadness (which can be an entirely appropriate response). And yet we really need to feel the full gamut of human emotions if we are gonna do justice to the whole incarnation gig, right? You do well not to resist the melancholy. Cry babies rule!

    Ok, I might be exposing myself, too. I've always known i was sensative. The one event that made me really think about it was when I was at the zoo. At the omaha zoo, I saw a gorilla puking its food and eating it up over and over again. Clear sign that something wasn't right. It was really sad, I initially felt like crying, but it turned into anger. Everyone around me - including the people i went with - were laughing and filming it. My partner did not understand why i was so upset that the day ended bitterly for me. So I know exactly what you're talking about. I literally used chatgpt to help me understand if im crazy.

    • @itskylielockheart
      @itskylielockheart หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@creampuff3521 that's horrible. It makes sense that the sadness was transmuted into anger, in that situation I would want to go insane and call everyone out for being so heartless. The zoo is an especially triggering place for sensitive people, I think. I don't think a lot of people understand that and take it purely on surface level

    Emotions are tools. How often you use then really just comes down to your preferences. For me emotions make me feel alive. When someone is expressing a strong feeling I like to feel those emotions because it makes me feel connected to them. Emotions really only come when you linger on a thought; so for logical people it's really easy to just move on, I felt so bad for the guinea pig in the story, but I chose not to linger on it for to long. (it also helps i have no connection to that kind of pet)

    • @itskylielockheart
      @itskylielockheart หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrebleKnight agreed. in a way emotions, good or bad, however strong make me feel as if I'm really alive. There's a tendency to over indulge and linger on these emotions for a long while, because sometimes I get stuck on why certain things strike me so intensely.

    Great empathy is rare, so easily ridiculed, however, it makes you a great writer, able to move people with your words and imagery. I’ve noticed that when I do fewer creative things, I am more prone to melancholy. Creating forces me to tap into my feelings, so they are less likely to build up.

I don't think it's necessarily bad, I mean I'd much rather have someone who's a bit sensitve than a cold person. I also find it a bit sexy(well perhaps sexy not the right word but more feminine?) with woman, kinda want to give them a hug...perhaps you just have so many thoughts in your mind? I am obviously not you, so I don't know how it is. but for me when I get angry at someone, I try to forgive them and I read the bible(new testament) and prayers. doesn't mean it's easy and takes some time but prayers and reading gives me peace...

    I missed this video! I understand that gap between your rich inner world and your ability to vocalise it. It's not your fault: language is necessarily linear and limiting. There's a book called Non-violent Communication, don't know if you've heard of it, but the first chapter talks about how toddlers, but also fully grown adults with poor vocabularies, can feel so frustrated that they have tantrums, or worse, because they can't express what they're feeling. You strike me as an eloquent person, but for us INFPs I'm not sure even the broadest vocabulary will allow us to fully express ourselves. Which is probably why we make good artists, apparently. The spillover into other modes of expression, maybe sometimes out of a desperation to get out whatever we have going on inside. And on the subject of chit chat, I agree that it has its place and conversation doesn't need to be deep all the time. It took me a while to figure that out. I would get pretty impatient about small talk. But living and working alone these past 18 months or so, I realise how important incidental contact with people really is. Even we introverts are social animals 😉 Oh, and charm isn't reserved for the smooth talkers. Some of the most charming people I know are awkward AF 😂 Regarding your musings on the club scene, there's that old story, not sure if it's true, about the shaman asking his depressed patient when he stopped dancing. That pops into my head from time to time. I guess when we dance we have to drop whatever pretence we are keeping up. At least if we wanna do it properly, with feeling and conviction 😊

    BTW, I'm not convinced that magisterial physiognomy means much at all! Magisterial has to do with authority and physiognomy with facial expression. So I guess austere in appearance? But maybe deliberately anthropomorphic? Gubernatorial is to do with governing. Romance/Latin roots (governmental in Spanish is gubernamental). I struggle to read that style of writing. Kudos to you! P.S. I love your vlogs. I don't really 'do' vlogs, but I enjoy your stream-of-consciousness style (I came here orginally for your 'INFP rant'). I think I identify with a lot of what you say when you're spitballing and just figuring stuff out. Definitely agree with our best ideas coming from those in-between spaces. The threshold between sleep and wakefulness can be a pretty rich source of creativity. Probably because our egos are caught napping 😄

    The BGM / Joni Mitchell mix in the car was a little dissonant 😂 Discipline is such a biggie! I feel like you might enjoy this quote from James Hollis, whose books on finding meaning in the second half of life I find very compelling: "Each morning the twin gremlins of fear and lethargy sit at the foot of our bed and smirk. Fear of further departure, fear of the unknown, fear of the challenge of largeness intimidates us back into our convenient rituals, conventional thinking, and familiar surroundings. To be recurrently intimidated by the task of life is a form of spiritual annihilation. On the other front, lethargy seduces us with sibilant whispers: kick back, chill out, numb out, take it easy for a while . . . sometimes for a long while, sometimes a lifetime, sometimes a spiritual oblivion. (As a friend advised me in Zurich, “When in doubt, administer chocolate.”) Yet the way forward threatens death-at the very least, the death of what has been familiar, the death of whomever we have been."

    You’re in my head! As a fellow INFP, I feel the same. I went on a trip with my bf (at the time) and his family for 5 days and it led to a big fight and we broke up. It was so hard trying to blend in with his loud ghetto extroverted family for five days in a row. And because I didn’t want to cause conflict, my boundaries were crossed and it just created so much tension on the trip.

      I'm so sorry this happened! It's a hard thing to do, voicing boundaries while also not causing conflict, especially if that's not you're usual way of being. it's emotionally exhausting. It's unfortunate how we are expected to change ourselves in these situations, while other the more extroverted people just seem to have it right, they don't have to try to understand the introverts.

    Oh great, so it is true: it’s easier to meet women who are A LOT like me via TH-cam “infp” than at random locations near me during the next 4 weeks. 🤣😄… In other words, society fails radically at making sure that these type of people meet each other (and live happily ever after! 🤣😎). Maybe that’s why we all have deep TH-cam channels (joke) 😂❤. By the way, since we are so deep minded, we would produce epic impromptu Q&A sessions worthy of viralness 😁. Let me know if you are brave enough to do one of those over a Zoom talk with me. 😎👌. The only thing that seriously worries me about this idea is that the “impromptu + deep Q&A’s” between her and me might open a bigger hole [of light] in the universe’s consciousness than my sci-fi series 🤣🤣. just wanted to leave this message here💙 Most people think about the world and the moments of right now , but think about your soul , where is it headed? Bible talks about happenings that will happen in end times , prophecies being fufilled right now! research for yourselves if u dont believe! thats why we need to repent and trust in Jesus for eternal life because wages of sin is death but Jesus died for all of our sins and therefore paid for them so we wouldnt go to the "jail" , aka hell He gave us free choice out of love, if u love someone ur gonna let the person go,,, but He is also justice , sin to God is a huge deal But He still made a way out of the "jail" Only if people accept Him they are promised that they will not go to hell for their sins but have everlasting life! rich and poor , abused or not- all of you will die someday please people i beg u think about your souls, life is so small compared to eternity... Psalm 14 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20 think about your souls, life is so small compared to eternity... God is love , He made the world because He wanted us with Him , but world has fallen and He is also justice so he justly pays humans after their death for their sins if they dont accept Jesus because He died for you as a perfect sacrifice and thought of you , He wants a personal connection with you.. God doesnt like all of this thats happening in the world but he provided a way thro Jesus , you just need to accept Him and be born again: John 3:3. Jesus answered: I say to you Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

    Actually, your feelings come through clearly through the poems and the art works that you share. I find we’re great at immersing ourselves in the moment, but not at articulating ourselves in the moment - we see and feel complex interrelationships and often have trouble expressing what we experience inwardly, especially on demand. (For example, I had to reflect on your video before writing the previous two sentences. 😊) I’m also an enneagram type 5 - the explorer - so I need to keep learning, which helps me avoid getting stuck in my mind replaying feelings. As an INFP, however, where and how I spend my time needs to resonate with my values. My current exploration is the linkage between faith and ecology, finding ways to help us see ourselves as intimately linked to each other and to all that is not human through our common ancestry with the cosmos. In my twenties, I also enjoyed clubs, especially jazz clubs. I still enjoy visiting favorite haunts, like coffee houses, where I can be quiet among others, but also have a chance to meet new folks as well as get to know other regulars a little better.

The whole process of it, finding a quiet place and organizing my thoughts and feelings presents a clearer image. always enjoy reading your comments, you provide a lot of insight to the infp way that is very relatable.

    Hello. It wasn’t until last year when I took the mbti test for the second time that I got INFP. Before that it was a few years earlier I got INFJ, but didn’t really pay any attention to it back then. Because I really didn’t have any interest in. I was just happy living life minding my own business. Daydreaming and entertaining myself. Basically still lost in my own world. With all the INFP searches I did on here once I took it a second time, I was so surprised at how many people I found sharing similar thoughts and feelings I so often experienced myself. It was also probably why one of your videos was brought up by the algorithm onto my home page that I liked what you had to say and I subscribed to your channel. Within this year I started doing a lot more introspection than I’ve ever done before. The majority of my life up till more recently I just went with the flow and followed the path of least resistance. But a few years ago I started to question life and myself more and started digging deeper into why I seem to operate the way I do. All of which seemed to really start after my father passed away. I believe it’s what triggered a turning point in my life. Probably in combination of my age and other factors I will spear you. Are you a believer in Free will or Determinism. I’m beginning to think we only have a limited amount of Free will and it’s only available to some people at certain times in life. And that it takes practice to understand and use. Like could you completely flip your personality at will. Or are you per determined to be and always be a INFP. I have the same questions/ thoughts around numerology. I just wonder how much does our environmental / history alter our thoughts/ beliefs. Versus the things out of or beyond our control that are innate to one’s Soul. How much does society impact our values and wants/ needs and in turn our beliefs of what’s good or bad. Is the Mbti measuring our soles or our egos. Of maybe both. I personally believe that the Mbti test is very accurate for what it measures. If enough people answer the questions similarly, they should have similar lifestyles/ thoughts within the context of what the Mbti test. And it stands to reason we could safely classify the results into groups. But who came up with the questions. Or the available answers. Or the way they are phrased. I aware of the actual people involved in its development. I’m talking about who gave them the right/ authority to speak for all of humanity. It seems like it’s all based off limited conditions and beliefs. Does it even matter. How does it truly help anyone. Does it or can it limit us and potentially restrict our ability to connect with others by giving us the belief/ label that we all function differently than others. That we are all different and not as or more important than others. (Ego) I’m thinking it can be useful or harmful depending on the use. I’m not suggesting that its sole purpose or use is to encapsulate someone into a specific group. I just think labels can be limiting/ harmful if used to divide or limit growth. Humans seem way more capable and meaningful to me than a simple test / label could ever actually measure with any true authority. Granted I do find it interesting when people, including myself seem to fit into categories and seem to have so much in common, that it’s hard to believe there isn’t something more meaningful going on. Anyway wanted to introduce myself. Also wanted to say I’m pretty sure I’m also Audhd. If you’re not aware it’s autism and ADHD combined. But I treat it the same way as I do the INFP personality trait. It’s just a way I’ve found that helps explain my life in (relationship) towards others. Not separate, or standing on its own. I’ve done a fair amount of research and I seem to resonate heavily with other people that share similar experiences. So sorry for the long comment. I’m not tying to be rude or inconsiderate. Just trying to connect by offering up my thoughts. I like to include as much information as possible as a way to help others understand me. I also just enjoy explaining my thoughts. But I understand not everyone appreciates that. And yes it takes me time to formulate and gather my thoughts. Especially deeper ones like in this comment. I can rarely just speak my mind freely without taking a lot of time to think about how I want to say it. So that it makes sense to me. And hopefully those that I’m talking with. On side note. I’ve also heard a few Devout Christians take issue with the Mbti. I believe it has to do with my above mentioned sentiments. If God gave us Free Will, and made us in his image, it takes away from that once we try to classify ourselves as anything other than what the bible says is the right way to live. But I’m not exactly sure if I fully understand it completely. I’ve just recently started to put that thought together. And I’m not trying to judge anyone or preach. That’s definitely not my thing. Just something I found interesting a while ago and it seemed to fit my Ted talk. lol.

    Hey this is Mike. Awesome post. Your other vent was how I found the channel. It's soo weird being an INFP but paradoxically the weirdness is what I kinda love the most, the uniqueness, the originality, like yea, most other people they seem pretty straightforward, kinda neat, but they're not my people, I'd much rather be weird than lame lol I literally wrote a book on that. I really appreciate you being sincere and real, and tellin it like it is, cuz like, it's hard out here being like this lol wanting to express yourself fully only to be met with disinterest and/ or impatience, just wanting to make life cool and fun and interesting, and being faced with so much misunderstanding or unwillingness to meet us halfway, or being perceived unfavorably, as weird, or lazy, unrealistic, scattered, etc. (from others, and sometimes ourselves lol) and like you mentioned, self-defeating stuff like self-perception and the comfort zone stuff, it can make life unnecessarily tough. Thank you for instilling the realization that we gotta be us, fully. Full acceptance. Embrace the weird lol and to stop being gaslit by "normal" people who ostracize people like INFPs, oh cuz we're hard to understand? That's no reason to label us just cuz you're impatient. We like to reflect on the world, often, so we speak with depth, and pauses, and considerations and reconsiderations in the moment. Thats real life, it ebbs and flows, it ain't neat and tidy like a report on lined paper. Real life is wild and messy, and fun, and raw, and alive. The frickin normies gotta get on our level lol Sidebar: I've worked with elementary-age kiddos for 10 years, and they're on our level. Silly, creative, fun, free-spirited, weird, and they operate mainly with their heart and soul! A rarity in this world. I highly recommend this type of "outlet" to all INFPs. Something, anything, that is silly but rejuvenating. Enlivening. Soul-sparking. If it's dancin downtown, go for it. Starting a garage band in your 30's? sure. Wine and painting? right on. Wearing a chicken suit and goin to walmart? weird flex, but ok. Like f**k it just go for it. Anyway, yes, do more vids like this. Snowball the weird, and then those snowballs pile up and make a mountain, and then you ride down that mountain, like its like a victory lap or somethin, cause you earned it, you earned that snowball mountain downhill sloped victory lap 🏂🏅

      hi mike! yes to silly activities!! i think especially as introverts we have a tendency to overanalyze what fits our personality best (which is honestly staying home with books and movies) and doing something way out there not only provides more confidence but helps access other parts of ourselves that were dormant. the weirder the better. i love this comment

    I relate to this. There are some people I don't have a strong interest in engaging with. I'm polite, but I don't really have much to say to them. So instead of engaging in painful small talk, I just say hi and keep it moving. Some people want to know things that aren't their business. For example, why does a random acquaintance need to know my relationship status or other personal details? I only share info that is relevant to the context of the relationship. Acquaintances aren't going to know much about me and that's intentional.

    Omg this melted my heart, i connected with you so much on the “it’s hard to communicate” i can write well, but i cannot express my feelings in words without it getting awkward. AND YES, I AM VERY EMOTIONAL HAHA. Like, oh my god, I don’t even have words. You’re speaking my mind. It feels like you know me personally like, idk how to explain it.

    This is so beautiful and refreshing ❤ Isn't it understandable that we (I am INJF) can't make ourselves understood because this world is upside down. A world where authenticity and sincerity are usually used as virtue signallers but never truly supported or valued. I loved your video because your authenticity shines through like a bright star. I am looking forward when human's profound dysfunction will reverse itself the right way up, which is the way of nature and harmony. I will watch more of your videos because I find authetic people like you comforting.

    pretty. over here it's a bit 'sad', it's getting cold and it's raining, birds are slowly leaving. I haven't noticed much halloween decoration this year, I've seen some but a lot less than before...
