One of the world's longest-running insurgencies has abandoned its
last major stronghold after an attack by Burmese troops, rebel and
Thai sources said. The Burmese rained a barrage of artillery on
the Karen rebel base of Kawmoora. On Wednesday troops poured
into the former guerrilla base. Thai soldiers identified the
troops as Burmese government forces, but the troops themselves
said they were from a Karen rebel splinter group.

Don't understand Y Thailand armies wer helping the Burmese army ? Heard that Karen are Myanmar origin and not refugees, they were just fighting for their rights or state of their own
The Burmese, Karen and Mon are and were, the three most prominent ethnic groups in Myanmar. When the British planned on abandoning the colonisation of Myanmar they had said they would split the country into three territories for each group, however they never did so. Now the three groups have been in civil war for 70+ years.
@@marcusrichardson4963 The plan was almost completed by the father of Aung San Suu Kyi that being the president of the country at that time but he got coup-ed by his own army and disposed of him , so after that the Army will soon rules the country under dictatorship for a very long time.

When did Thai Army help Burmese army all I see is Thai soldiers giving security and evacuating the Burmese to safety.

Looks like alot of civilian conscripts or volunteers for the Burmese government troops.
Shows that the Burmese army is very lackadaisical about thier troop assembly areas?
The rebels were to start using even cheap drones these areas would been a amazing target of opportunity. One improvised bomblette or even a small suicide drone would be devastating.

What aggressive? These soldiers are in Thailand soil and they're in the safety zone. We're not allow to stick our nose in Burmese or Karen sovereignty. All we can do is help women, children and wounded soldiers cross the border to their safety. We have over 100,000+ karen refugees in thailand that is aid by UN, USA and Thai government. Karen is not allow to use thai soil as a base to attack Burmese government neither.
