Things like this happen when the politicians you vote for answer to the ones who own them and not the public who voted for them.
Very true
Well said.
Trouble is the voting public is even more stupid than the politicians.
That is on the premise you believe the voting system isn't rigged already. It's about giving the masses the illusion of choice and the ability to influence things.
Perfect!
Governments seem to think the public are going to just lay down and roll over, they may be on for a shock
Of cause the will. People will be brainwashed into thinking its good for them.
They will of course do NOTHING. We have become sheep!
Exactly...to become a doormat, you must first agree to lie down.
@@michealrcnicholson9342 For now..
the thing is the public are taking their damn time - no wonder scumbags in gvt keep over reaching, there is no real pushback
Labour have stated they will bring back the 2030 deadline, both parties seem to be droughting legislation based on ideology rather than proven technology and assuming that the technology will catch up with the deadlines they introduce. Not good governance and neither worthy of my vote IMO
Ideology driven by faulty (scam) science. Net (CO2) zero is a massive industry, worth $ trillions. There is an old saying “It’s remarkable what intelligent people will believe (on not believe) when their income depends on them believing/not believing it”
These birds just want to be God!
So very much!
It's already started. Placed an order for a new van. May get it for April next year. No promises. 100k in 2 years fixing forklifts. Even the sales team said electric will not work for me. Tried an empty 3.5T van. 1/3 of the charge used in 40 miles. I guessed at fully loaded with tools and spares 70 mile range. Throw in a cold wet 2am start and I may not even make the first available charging point on the motorway. Couple that to the costs of charging and my time I think I will be bankrupt in 6 months.
That pretty well sums up the madness they propose. Then there's the whole infrastructure problem that Stuart has touched on here.
Love the comment on our potential next leader. Like most people I work on an industrial estate, and what's worse than electric bikes are the little electric bloody scooters everywhere. So dangerous for everyone. I thought they were illegal but dibble doesn't do anything about it. 🤬
Only one answer to this, join the rally on June the first. I know most people can't travel to London so get something organised in major cities throughout the UK.
Post the details of the rally please @robwilkguitar4458
In the ever-more restrictive country we live in I am of the opinion there's never been a better time to enjoy a vehicle which is propelled by an internal combustion engine. I wholly expect the cost of a new petrol/diesel car/bike to be artificially pushed beyond what people will/can pay in order to force us to buy an EV. Thus I will be holding on to my petrol bikes, and using them as much as I am able.
The weather forecast this Sunday is currently sunny and warm, as such I will be riding my polluting, obscenely and excessively fast ZZR1400 to Dorset from Warwickshire. I won't be 'holding the horses'...because rest assured it won't be long before such unbridled enjoyment won't be allowed.
It's time for people to vote these control freaks out of power - while we can still can. 😠👿😠
they are all the same .
You can't vote them out, it's a uniparty duopoly.
I've always been dead set against the tory ideology, but labour has pushed to go through a metamorphism, and they're going to be a lot worse for the woke and climate, net zero agenda.
Voting in this election is a complete farce.
you get just other same ones. the cause lies way deeper.
If your vote was effective, they wouldn't let you have it.
I have stopped listening to the Powers or weaknesses of a failed Government tossers
I've been a grateful subcriber for 3+ years. I truly appreciate the work and effort you put into your videos. Camera equipment and such isn't cheap. I echo that 👍
Hear, hear! Having started watching Stuart’s videos about 3 or 4 years’ ago, Stuart gave me the confidence to go out and buy a new RE Interceptor some 25 months ago, to which I’ll always be grateful.

Brilliant video as always Stuart and I got rid of my Smart car, bought a 24 plate Honda Grom for £3500 - its doing 143mpg costs nothing to insure and cuts through traffic like a hot knife through butter, plus its an absolute hoot to ride around on 😁👍🏻
And yet I read 125cc bikes are apparently getting banned first.. the people getting the best mpg, running their vehicles, and travelling cheaper are the first to be attacked.. I try not to continuously read into things, but it forever seems like they don't want people to travel cheap and balance it out using new rules.. you peasants are taking us the space of wealthy folks cars, causing traffic in wealthy folks streets, you have to go..
Costs nothing to insure? Bet it does cost something!
@@ChrisJohnson-pd4hh it does but £15 a month is nothing really 😌
You are definitely right about the shit show of this government and the clowns that will form the next one! Be careful what you wish for , folks.
I sincerely doubt the government are interested in us having cheep transport , electric or not! 😕
Glad I'm in my 60's!!! Enough of this nonsensical world
Hi mate. In regards to the E scooters. Local drug dealer near me has one, the speed is ridiculous, can't catch the bugger...Dangerous as well, swerving in and out traffic , no road sense.
Another reason why a lot of people don't want EV bikes, they're ugly as F. Was looking at new bikes for 2024/25.
The problem is. We are controlled by large political bodies such as WEF,WHO. UN etc. So it is irrelevent who takes over in government. As is shown by Kier Starmer, who doesn't even know what a woman is. The problem with the sheeple. Is, they actually believe the government cares about them, has their best interests at heart and the country, they don't, they answer to their paymasters only, money is king.
The good news is, there is becoming a push back, a lot of people are now aware that EVs are bad for the environment , worse than ice vehicles, are not beneficial for the working class and can not meet 0 emissions, so the push back may go back to 2040 and more.
The madness and wokeness in schools are starting to push back. Even the little doom goblin Greta Thunberg , has ditched her net zero fight to supporting Palestine.
Things are very grim at the moment, but I doubt it will be forever, especially if more people start fighting back for their freedom..
Well said 👏
I agree with everything what you said, but it still can go wrong and become very bad. It doesn't even have to start in your country, it can start in any country in Europe and after that it is expanding very quickly.
Just a warning.
@gvdschoot I fully agree. This is why people need to fight back, and good people get back into positions where they have power and authority..
It's a slow process , but it can be fixed. Certain situations like war may change things, I'm not saying it has to be that drastic, however, woke weak people , can not win wars and feelings, kind of go out the window when strong people are needed.
The youth of today are the answer. The far left and the elitists have slowly dominated our education, police and politics, history shows this can be reversed..
Doom Goblin 😂 👍
In my town with few exceptions e bikes and scooters are always ridden by drug dealers or people trying to look like them. All wearing black hood, baseball cap and face nappy whilst their cadet force tags along on bicycles on the back wheel using every road as a contra flow cycle lane even if there is a cycle lane.
All the best 53/0°
I remember decades ago when one of my younger brothers, and his mate, were stopped and ticketed by the police for riding their pedal bicycles at 28mph (45km/h) down a hill (the speed limit was 21mph (35km/h). It is difficult to comprehend why anybody would buy an electrically assisted bicycle that cannot exceed 15mph.
@radianman Age for one, disability for another! The 15.5 mph limit is ridiculous and serves no useful purpose and only encourages normal law abiding people to ignore the law!
Speedbox 3.0 will knock that limiter off for "off road" use. Wink wink. I get 35 mph out of mine pedalling like the clappers
The rich western countries have been well-sold-to over the last decade as far as the global warming images go and the European electrification targets are a great example of that. It’s always the very rich disposable income 5% of the world that are always first to buy the curved TVs, air fryers, Teslas etc etc, a salesman’s dream. However the other 95% of the world think it’s just a bad joke and will continue to rely mainly on diesel fuel to run their generators and trucks for at least the next 50 years, purely out of necessity..
Also, if I may add to this, the actual benefit from all these "green targets" in Europe are like a gnat farting to put out a forest fire. The amount of carbon emitted by the other continents are far greater than anything Europe could hope to compensate for.
we will have diesel, petrol transport for a long time to come still, at least 50 years.
The government and establishment has never liked motorbikes, I am thinking of buying a little ferguson tractor !
Only look at all the freedom that we did have and look now, and it is all the same BS.
A little grey TVO fergie and mooch around the roads and byways annoying the car drivers ;-)
Of course not, motorbikers often love the feeling of freedom and independence a bike give you, like the opposite of what a nanny state try to pull over us.
I feel so sorry for you boys in the UK. Its just regulation on top of regulation....unfortunately her in the USA we are quickly catching up to this stupidity.
I have to thank electric bikes for getting me into motorbikes. Cost of electric bikes was so expensive I decided to do my cbt and get a 125. Soon after I did my full test and got a Honda vfr800 👍. Beautiful
If labour gets in I’m putting ny name down for a transfer to Rwander😎👍
There's a company here in NZ selling an electric "motorbike" with a sort of cafe racer aesthetic that does 30mph and costs the same as an Interceptor. They get very shirty on the socials when that's pointed out...
Let is hope they do not ban combustion engine bikes. People vote for politicians that are close to being dictators. Is there intelligent life out there?
Women are the majority of voters. Women statistically vote for the government to have more power and to control how people live and to take care of them like children
Yes, but not down here😅
there is no good vote choice anymore.
This guy is so right, say no more
I'm in my 20's and I ride a cheap low capacity petrol bike cause I can't afford an electric car or bike, so they think that the prices of those vehicles will magically go down ? Having an Ecar necessitate quite the infrastrutcure at home, Do they have enough infrastructre for people who cany have them at home ? Do they think about people riding mopeds to go to work ? Once again it's a decision made by rich folk who don't understand why people live the way they do
You will be on public transport , bicycle or foot just like the good old days only the rich will have cars
It is planned that you (we) won't be able to afford vehicles, everything will be rented "you'll own nothing and be happy".

I bought an ebike 7 years ago. It got me back into motorcycles within a few months so not a bad thing. I still use the ebike occasionally and think it is great fun. I would prefer it to go to 20mph though. Ebike gets me to nearby pubs and shops saving my old knees. Motorcycle gets me out for fun. Car gets me further afield with better protection. I like having the choice. Deregulated scooters with children charging around are a complete pain though.
Ahahaha, the "lycra louts" as we call them here in Ireland. 9.000 Euro ultra light alloy bikes and clad it the most fashionable streamlined spandex, reversed clown shoes while wearing visors that spell "road douche" to peddle a paltry 20 mph, 3 abreast on the road and they think they are impressive. I remember the days I used to bring a bag of potatoes on the back of my hand-me-down full steel frame pushbike to my granny, 30 miles away, every Sunday. I wore wellies and a thick floppy raincoat, overtaking mopeds just to piss them off (provided they weren't unrestricted - 40mph was my limit) I did have legs that could kick in steel doors, though - very handy when I got my first motorbike - an Enfield India Bullet that required a very determined kickstart as the decompressor was stuck 😆
MAMIL's Middle aged men in lycra 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Alloy??? I think it's more likely carbon fibre.....
@@WerdnaLiten Ah, the ole carbon fibre - sure, it be the choice "because professionals race with them" and completely forgetting that the carbon fibre frames don't handle the public roads very well - seen a few bikes shatter. it’s strong in the direction it was designed to be strong, but weak against forces from other directions, that means a glancing side blow or even a casual lean can actually deliver significant damage. Most people in my club will go for titanium alloy daily trainers for on the public roads and bring out the CF for the track days. Noting that - not all CF is equal - you'd be looking at high grade for anything giving you an edge over titanium but it won't last and take punishment like titanium can handle (like being on a public road where potholes, traffic, dogs, pedestrians can happen) But yeah - I'll give you that - the 20mph wannabee lycra lout probably will show up with (mediocre) CF frame on the public road. If they are stupid enough they spend more on a high end and even more fragile CF frame
Truth be told… my RE Classic 350 is one thing keeping me sane in this crazy world. The exhaust note… and everything else erases the troubles of the day with each twist of the throttle.
I'm still in the 'running in' mileage on mine but every time I go to town for a food shop, some guy will come over for a banter about bikes. I've done the DNA filter and am getting a decat as the freeflow pipes are silly money, but the sound is already a head turner. Been worth every penny. It's great seeing the grins on older guy's faces as I start her up 😊
Here here! If the greens ever get in, they want to ban all new ICE vehicle sales from 2025. They also want to curtail any thoughts of "unnecessary journeys Thankfully they won't get in though.
I have never seen a moped doing only 30 mph in the UK, mostly are derestricted and well over the legal noise limit.
Fuel/Power density is far more important in motorbikes...cars can, to a certain point, get away with a lager, heavy battery pack whereas motorbikes have no chance.
Good to hear another sane voice in this insane world👍
it is not going to change anything tho.

Good vid. Agree totally. Give the power back to the people. Simples. Stop corruption.
That require a populous who is`t corruptible and is`t easily deflected with "circuses and bread" (aka football and the pub)

You've got it all wrong Stu, in relation to your vids, the longer the better to a degree.
But i appreciate how much effort and how long it takes to put these things together..😉👍
Morning Stewart. All this talk about banning certain low powered motorcycles to save the planet is just ridiculous. Personally I'd start by banning certain high powered motor cars. That would pee off certain demographics who think they are kings of the road! But no government seems motorcycles are the planet's danger? Clueless comes to mind over cutting pollution! But that's just my opinion. Safe cruising sir 👍😊...
Yeah, I've been saying similar for a while.....Makes absolutely no sense at all.
They should keep both options while working with manufacturers to come up with better solutions like hydrogen combustion. The carrot munchers can have the choice of E-bikes and the rest of us can continue to use petrol or E-bikes if we prefer. It should be a choice.
Mineral and rear metal shortage will hit battery production. There will be a cut throat competition between all big EV corporations to secure constant supply of these raw materials. And until a more sustainable battery technology replaces what is presently available, we will see rapid exhaustion of resources.
Though I am not on any side, I think it will be wrong of policy makers to impose EV mandate till the technology becomes sustainable.
Perhaps greener fuels (such as ethanol, hydrogen) instead of 100% fossil fuels would be a better solution.
Good one Mr Fillingham, I have done several touring camping trips on 125cc scooters and 125 so called learner bikes. No problem, it all depends how you ride. The ability to stop anywhere, grass verges included, to look at a view or take a photograph is one of the huge benefits.
Hi Stuart,
I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. Given the engineering investment it's incomparable. All those 125cm engines are a PIECE OF ART while all those ebikes are a piece of CRAP. coz they're SIMPLE. Sure the overprice is ABSOLUTELY ARROGANT. To hell with ebikes!!!!
What I hate is that they put the road tax on good bikes and cars so high that they put people off using them!
Hello all and Stuart. Answer is never hope so. There is lots of options like synthetic fuels and hydrogen too. I am pretty sure that whole automotive industry should focus on hydrogen as alternative fuel. 20 years ago BMW made 7 class on hydrogen, but time and technology are now in higher position. If governments put so huge amount of energy and money into hydrogen like to the batteries we will have hydrogen as primary choice for transport. This is my point of view.
My feeling is it won't be if petrol vehicles are banned that will be a big problem. Even if the ban on petrol motorcycles is pushed back to 2040, will there be petrol? As EV'S become more common, I feel petrol stations will become fewer and further apart. I believe petrol prices will greatly increase as it becomes a "luxury" item, plus government will increases taxes even more to "punish" petrol vehicle owners in a similar way smokers are taxed.
I have subscribed for quite a while and never been disconnected. I live in the US.
PS, I thought your take on Lycra cyclists was funny. My mate and I call them road lice😂.
🤣🤣🤣👍❤️
Absolutely right Stuart. Always interesting views in your videos. My take on this is a bit more general in that the standard and ability of modern-day, career politicians is diabolical. For no particular reason (and no political allegiances) I recently listened to the 1998 speech Tony Benn made prior to the Iraq war. A tour de force in facts, reasoned argument and logic. Contrast this with today and our vain politicians just seeking popularity and setting policy accordingly. No wonder transport policy and most other policies are in such a mess.
Circus analogy brilliant!
100% spot on Stu in many of the issues you mention in this clip unfortunately whoever is in power they will never be in touch with the real world they do not know their a#se from their elbow.

@@niallwildwoode7373 mine too 😊. I may add to it, but it's a keeper .
"Ladies have gentleman's sausage" Classic Stuart !!! Keep up the great work !
E- bicycles are becoming a real issue here in the states in some areas. Teens and kids are zipping in and out of side walks and local roads with heavy traffic at up to 30 mph with zero safety gear on and often not abiding by the rules of the road or the flow of traffic. If you need a MC license and all the mandated gear to ride a Honda trail 125 or a Money on the road then you should need one to be on a E bike that can pretty much do all the same things.
E-bikes in America are different to E-bikes in UK, UK E-bikes don't go unless you pedal, its called pedal assist. In America they never pedal its all ran on the battery!
You are bang on with the analogy between Billy Smart's and Chipperfield's Circuses. That's the whole point though. That voting doesn't really make any difference only to which clown show is on next. It keeps thousands of people in well paid un-productive jobs talking about it while the majority of people have to just get on with it.
Hi Stu. The people in power should be made to put their money where their mouth is. The current government should all be made to have only pure electric vehicles. No hybrids.
Let's not forget that E motorbikes are silent. Pedestrians, along with other road users cannot hear them, which rather makes them potential murder/suicide death traps.
Electric will be no good on a round Britain trip let alone an around the world trip.
As always it is important to remember the country is fully controlled by the WEF and not the British !!
Democracy is an illusion that they provide to give people the impression they have a say in how they are governed.
Wait till Labour get in as it’s going to get worse as the lefties are all about control and dictating what you will do and think.
Good Morning Stu , Your being very kind calling them clowns i could think of some better , take care & ride safe
LOL on the line “ ladies with gentlemen sausages” haha , good one
Back in 2016 I bought my pedal assist by cyclejust as the 15 mph restriction came in. The motor will pull all the way up to an indicated 16+ mph provided you push on the pedals. Not sure where you get the 4.5 mph from. I have used it solely for commuting to work ever since.
The bike was at the premium end of the market and I thought well built. To date I have replaced three wheels.brake discs and pads and a new battery (£600 list) As per your remarks about range, it will do two 15 mile round trips in summer but less than 25 miles when it is cold. Tyres last about 18 months and are more expensive as they are ebike specific. I have ridden this bike in all weathers and despite its shortcomings feel that ownership has been worthwhile as it has easily been cheaper than bus train or car.
But like evs the drawback is the range that you can go away from your charger is limited.Charging takes up to 4 hours. I would not be interested in an electric car or motorcycle due to the hassle of recharging away from home.
I hope like yourself that I have enough motorcycles to see out my motorcycling days.
PS 15 mph is plenty fast enough considering road conditions and for these bikes and helmets are essential. I have learnt to my cost that you do not bounce well even coming unstuck at 15mph. My collar bone is still out its socket after 3 months, the muscle is completly severed and my helmet was split so please everyone take care no matter what you ride.
In europe there is no petrol banning for motorcycles in the future🤔
I hope you are right!
My ebike has turned into a proper one trick pony. It will get me to work and back (20 mins each way) then it needs charging for 3-4 hours before I can use it again! I'm sure this is costing me more than the petrol consumption of the 350cc motorcycle I intend to buy, which will then be useful for more than just the commute to work 🤷.
Another great video, much appreciated Stu 👍
Those are some weird bike laws. Here across the pond we are usually allowed to go up to 20mph. There are also a lot of great bikes here for around 1k usd. For me it's fun to go in the parks, go shopping, and take my kid around. Let me be clear though I believe everyone should have a choice and I would never give my motorcycle up. I think e bikes are great for certain situations but banning low capacity motorcycles is just crazy. I also agree with you that if the are going to de-restrict bikes they should match the laws to mopeds.
Epic 40min video last one..❤
8:00 in Poland you can use motorcycle up to 125cc and 10BHP with B category driving license.
Electric motorbikes have the same problem as electric cars, high cost and short range... Sales of electric cars have plummeted over 50% in last 6 months in USA, similar in Europe. The early adopters have been satisfied and there is no secondhand market for them....
I test rode the Zero electric motorbike range some time ago.. To be honest out of curiosity.. Not intending to change... Interesting it was.. But made my mind up this technology would not work. You are constantly watching range, speed as obviously the faster you go the range drops like a stone.. Out of interest I spoke to a guy having his Zero serviced and asked him his view on electric bike ownership.. He said he uses it for commuting only.. Used his Triumph for weekend's and holidays.. Plus he could charge the bike everyday at work..
In a nutshell back's up your view technology is not there yet, nor the charging infrastructure needed. I personally believe only alternative fuels will be a possibility in the future, like hydrogen..
There are electric bikes around that get most of the performance of their petrol equivalent - the LiveWire or a Zero S, for example, have broadly the same range as their petrol equivalent and up to their top speed are comparable. But, they are utterly soul-less; the build quality is questionable; and the charge time makes them unusable for longer rides/group rides. Hydrogen is the current most likely option to replace petrol for motorbikes, batteries on such a small form factor just don't make any sense - they don't really make sense for cars either, but apparently hand waving away an extra 500kg is fine.
I have a Zero motorcycle in Miami, but have other gas-powered bikes as an alternative. It cost me $25,000 three years ago.
The good part is that it is possible to plug it in to a regular household plug taking around four hours to get to full charge from around 40%. So, no hassle, and always full the next morning and no need for a gas station.
Without charging I can go a week or more without charging. Range is better in cities with regenerative charging and worse on highways.
So, I find it just fine and free when in an urban environment not going far. For most of America with long distances, forget it.
I too have a Zero 13kw which will cover anything between 70-100 miles at legal speeds in warm temperatures, say 70°f. If I was pootling about 150 miles, flat out (book speed 105 mph) I doubt you'd get 50. Winter months 2% discharge per mile, half that in Summer. It's a real hoot. What do I ride the most? My Classic 350 Reborn! That says it all.
Excellent video , I loved the comment about the cyclist in lycra , there was nothing I or any sane person could argue against but I'm sure some pedants and fools will . Thanks Stuart catch You next time , Ride Safe & Ride Free.
I'll be upfront and say I have an electric car and must say that if you can charge at home and your winter journeys are not too long (say 200 miles a day) then they are a great thing. Almost silent, smooth and effortless power.
However, that said, I could never have an electric bike. It's not the range and other issues, it's the fact that you are more involved when riding a bike. The sound, the mechanical empathy, the involvement and the pure joy cannot be emulated on an electric bike. I ride a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and I love it! The noise, the mechanical involvement, the smell just everything! It's not fast but it hits the spot! An electric bike just could not achieve that.
Is this the start?
California has since January 2024 banned the sale of all new petrol engines below 25hp.
I'm out riding lots and lots and lots and in very bike friendly mountains and countryside where I each week see masses and masses of motorcycles and I am yet to see a single EV Motorcycle. Does anybody own one and actually ride it - or do they just buy them as a virtue signaling agenda and then lock them up in the garage never to see the light of day again.
No need for a license for a moped here in New Zealand 🤩
Hi Stuart
Great video as normal, Where do are incompetent Government think all this electric power is coming from ! More coal power stations, more gas stations . Also electric to run home industry 40 million cars and so on .
Hi Stu, the blessed take a way food deliveries on electric cycles is much quieter than the L plate mopeds. best solution if needing a burger, walk down the shops and get one.
i cannot remember a manifesto that said, "we will ban mopeds ! " - but speaking of general elections, how different is this country ? since say 2015. i mean how will dominoes get fresh tasty pizzas to your door in 10 mins on a friday night ? seriously the govt banning something like the honda 125 supercub which does 150 mpg from 2030 is just insane. legal insured with reg plates it is an all above board economical solution. and then you have scrotes and drug dealers whizzing around on 48/52 volt electric chinese bicycles with 1000/1500 watt motors capable of 30-40 mph without pedaling. the police can see this but hands are tied, the govt are completely out of touch. i now dream of spending more time in not so mental not western countries. sadly
UK regs have always fickle. In the 70/80s you could have a 50 Cub with pedals classed as a moped, without pedals the 50 Cub was classed as a motorcycle. Fast foward yesterday, I saw a youth on a Suron type motor ? with no numberplate or helmet going like Joseph F down the promenade with a couple of buddies on motard type motorcycles. Im not against having fun but this was a crowded space. What has society become?
Good info stu😊
Lets hope that Labour once in the driving seat don't take us back into the EU, because the EU have mentioned banning bikes over ten years old. How I think they will get bikes of this age off the roads is by having a much stricter MOT emissions test like they have in Japan, then all of those decent older bikes will become worthless to their owners and or collections that they won't be able to ride thereafter..
The Only Bike I would Consider
Is The Kawasaki Hybrid as a Compromise not seen that Many
Mainstream U Tubers Testing
One Yet
New fuels are being developed now. So no need to get rid of real motorcycles. Only reason for removing moped sales is to strangle the motorcycle industry. No learners no passes on test no motorcycle sales.
Strange how these small ev mbikes have a 3 position switch speed limiting it to 29mph and upto 39 on position 2 position 3 upto 49 mph seems to comply with ulez and low speed zones. We will live in 15 minute cities
I said "It's just physics" about 2 seconds before you!!
What I don’t understand with this government is there dictating what we have to do is go electric yet they still run around in big range rovers jaguars Bentley’s they should be practicing what they preach and the royal family as well and running electric cars and for the little emissions motorcycles put out why attack motorcycles at all just isn’t fair take care ride safe 👋

Reform are not interested in motorcycles or anything else just greedy people who want to line their own pockets.
I will not comply.
I'm an old fart(75)with titanium plates holding my pelvis together(motor bike accident many moons ago) I have converted 3 pushbikes to E-bikes because I can't get up hills and have collapsed trying. Fitting an electric motor(250 watt) makes a world of difference, a bit like having a mate to help you up the hills. I confess I have deregulated the 15.5 mph limit and set it at 20 mph, something as a normally law abiding citizen I found counter intuitive, BUT it had to be done because I was constantly ping ponging between power and no power at the 15.5 mph point and it was hurting my pelvis almost as much as no motor at all. I didn't fit the throttles(legal if its DIY, illegal if manufactured) as if I wanted a moped or motor bike that's what I would buy. I'm hoping that when they change the E-bike regulations they make 2 changes, one extending the 15.5 mph to 20 or even 25 mph and increasing the 250 watt to 500 watt max power. This I feel would actually make E-bike riders safer as it would frustrate other road users less. I don't want a throttle BUT I can see it might be useful when starting off for example at traffic lights. I would love to get another Motor bike(classic) but am not confident I could cope with todays traffic, too many drivers used to foreign traffic regs who don't seem to have read the highway code, I know how that sounds, but I see(and hear) things on our roads that no sane UK driver would ever do, sorry if that's racist but I really don't care where you come from or the colour of your skin, I only care about you driving safely!
a throttle on an e bike takes away that wobble as you take off from a stop , gets you quickly up to a speed where you can continue with the pedals , I see it as a safety feature .
@@uptowndisco2 I can see that might be of benefit.
i'm the same as you ,75 years old with a dodgy knee ,i have 2 e bikes and love them.i ride about with another old fellow who is 88 years old,he says it is like having his young legs back.
I don’t believe they will ever ban the internal combustion engine for cars or bikes , yes they keep beating the drum but in reality they know the uptake is actually falling , that ‘they’ havnt built the infrastructure themselves, that they couldn’t actually provide enough electricity if anyone ever did make the jump so whilst they keep banging the drum ( because car manufacturers have made the change at factory level at great cost ) the can will be yet again kicked further down the road
Think of all those replenishing oil wells overflowing once oil is out lawed. It's the second most abundant liquid on earth.
Dont worry uncle Stu! It wont happen, only wishful thinking from a younger generation, that cannot get trough a day without their phone!
I'm actually thinking of getting one of these E "pedal" bikes even though I have a motorcycle i'm honestly pissed off that the road tax I PAY doesn't go towards the roads that literally almost killed me the other week because of the road conditions (i'm still sore from it FYI) & they're planning to increase my road tax even though it's my bike is fully euro 7 compliant.
This country is a joke so why TF should I contribute to their incompetency in fact why should I contribute at all
I saw a video of a fella touring Europe on an electric motorcycle. ( ( hear on utube )Seemed he spent most time dealing with finding a place near enough to go for next recharge , and waiting to charge . Not how I would spend my time .
It’s okay riding an E bike up to 20MPH, which is nice but when it’s only for a few miles then it’s pretty pointless! I would rather walk.
Can't wait for our own idiot bunch which runs our Backcountry Discovery Routes to put a charging station at the beginning of each section. They seem to believe one charge will give a fully loaded ADV bike enough range to complete a 300 mile section, complete with trail closures, rerouted errors when you get lost, etc. Yeah, that's gonna work😝 And rest assured, it won't have any effect on "saving" the planet in any way.
On a similar theme,I had my car tax renewal notice for end of month.st the moment I pay zero rate cos or emissions.. next year. I'll be paying £20. I'm ok with that.but2025 ,it will be normal rate, which will be,the way it's increasing, will be near £200, the car is a2015 plate,so was thinking new tax rates wouldn't be retrospective.your right stu, no matter what you drive/ride.they want us pleps of the roads.🤬
