Most labs are like that
Labs have depth understanding of every situation and immense compassion for the caretakers and unquenched hunger for meat and eggs lol they dont attack if raised right they barely get violent
He was shaking like a rattlesnake trying not to die lol. He wouldn't even have the strength in that moment to be aggressive so why should he behave aggressive?
Well it's a lab. They are the best.

My dog found and ate a bottle of slug pellets at 8 months old, she was in a induced coma for two days while having fits and seizures. The vets stayed with her through the two nights and on the third day she recovered enough to come home. 15 months later she is ok with no problems since.

No, snail bait is not a naturally occurring substance, it's a manufactured neurotoxin. It should be illegal. Snails and slugs are inevitable, and if you have a healthy garden ecosystem, you won't have too many. No one needs to be putting poison into the ecosystem just to save their vege patch.

@@Handles_Are_Bad_Lol Yeah but if it's not their yard, it's not their place to do that. There are many known cases in Australia (I would know, I live there) of strangers deliberately poisoning pets. I have no trouble believing that the person that did this had bad intentions all the way through.

My step-father is an evil monster. When I was a teenager he left rat poison out intentionally. I had a little mixed breed dog that was my life. I didn’t know anything about it until many hours later. She died before I could even get her to the vet. It’s been over 30 years since it happened and I still despise him, mainly because of how terribly she suffered. People in general can’t be trusted. RIP Penelope Sue🐾 I miss you beautiful girl😢

Everybody reacts different to crisis situations like this....some people( myself included) will act first and feel later... it's not a choice it just happens. Maybe she just like that. But boy oh boy when you start to feel again that can cause a huge emotional meltdown 🙁

I'm SO GLAD that the dog was able to survive after being poisoned! I'm SO GLAD that the dog can continue his life with his family and that he is no longer sick.

This is probably the only video they’ve posted that actually distressed me. This poor dog suffering so visibly just broke my heart, just as much as I wanted the people who caused it to hurt as well.

When I worked in an emergency clinic we called snail bait toxicity cases “Shake and Bake” dogs. (You develop a dark sense of humor working in vet med) Its terrifying stuff. I’m so glad Archie came through.
Dark humor man, it’s the best way to cope with otherwise very difficult and overwhelming things, it’s the only way I cope with my disabilities haha

Huh, we have 2 very different definitions of "Shake and Bake". Yeet some Willy Pete and Shake them with some HE. Making the now calm White Phosphorus angry again.
So glad his owner can home early and was able to take him to the hospital in time. Thank you for all the care and knowledge that was given to Archie. A blessing!!!
Mum had to sacrifice a tooth for this miracle but I bet she's grateful she was home to save her baby! I surely am! Also, I appreciate the efficient care Archie received. I am so grateful to Dr. Chris Brown and their amazing team for all they do! I know Archie's family will never forget them! Wonder if there are any future vets in Archie's young family?

For those who are wondering, the dog is alive. A box of snail poison has been thrown in the owners yard. But the dog is happy and reunites with its family 😊

@@Handles_Are_Bad_Lol you have to use context, but the family didn't put out the snail bait. When asked about any poisons, she said they hadn't used any, and she looked and sounded genuine. A poison like that would NO DOUBT come with a bright warning label saying not to use around pets and children.
And also, why lie about it if it wasn't purposeful, and why would anyone purposely go through the vet costs for a stomach pump, charcoal and the time

I had something like this happen to one of my cats... there was a fire at a pesticide factory in my town, and the chemicals ended up spilling into the creek and nobody in the town was told about it... My cat came home with these exact symptoms, we drove him straight to the emergency vet but unfortunately it was too late to do anything for him. They told me to take him home and make him as comfortable as I could, and he passed away that night in my arms. It broke my heart. It's been probably 15 years or more and I still can't talk about it without crying

I remember going through charcoal treatment for a toxic poison ingestion myself. It was awful, and I can imagine the pain an inexperienced puppy feels.
I always find it pretty crazy how far back charchoal has been used medically in human history. It wasint always used properly and its awfull for your digestion but it is still commonly used to treat toxins. Poeple were using it way before we had a way of knowing how it helps.
If ur comfy enough ofc, I wanna ask about the treatment. I’m kinda curious, what made it awful? Did it taste bad? Or was it like, painful?

@@j3sterzart It was gross and uncomfortable. You drink it through a straw like a juice box. And then a few hours later, I was puking like the exorcist. Better than death, but that’s it.
This was very difficult to watch. Poor Archie but I'm so glad he's okay. The vets are absolute heroes and I have so much admiration and respect for all those involved in helping Archie get better. What an absolute star he is X

I don't think there's anything worse than seeing a lab in a moment like this, A naturally bubbly soul reduced to panic and fear. Bless him! Glad he got out of it!
I have a lab, He managed to get into some rather heavy medication and I found him WELL AWAY on the settee unaware of me entering the room. a 2AM vet trip and my pocket feeling much lighter I found out he didn't actually ingest any somehow not whole anyway. Slept for what felt like days while I watched him every second until he was himself and I haven't taken my eyes off him since.
Why just a lab?
This is most frightening video I have seen here. I have never in my 65 years seen a dog go through that. The quick response of the puppies owner, the Doctors and their saved that puppies life. I don't know about you, but I feel someone tried to poison that puppy. It's amazing how he survived that.

Honestly I don't understand how people can leave such poison laying around...for some snails?! So incredibly dangerous and cruel to wildlife and wandering pets alike.
Sometimes people do it on purpose, throw the stuff into someone’s garden knowing there’s a dog around, don’t know why someone would be that cruel but it does happen unfortunately 😢

@@Carolina922 yeah I thought the same, looking at how the packet was just discarded over the back fence too, there are some sick individuals out there, I reckon new puppy might’ve been doing something like barking or whining when the owners weren’t home (which is normal) so someone decided to take care of the ‘problem’ it’s just awful, it’s attempted murder.

Terrifying! My heart just broke for this little guy and his family. I would love to really hurt the person responsible.
This wish for revenge you express here might've been the same emotion that made that person want to hurt a living being. Violence against violence only makes things worse and in the end helps noone. What that person needs is a therapy. And if some kind of stupid neighborhood conflict is the root cause - talking and listening to each other and finding compromises might prevent cruel attacks on the weakest family members (in this case a dog).
Or keeping your snail bite out of your own dogs reach when leaving it in the backyard. Cause I bet for every deliberate attack there is an inadvertent accident!

Just recently lost a puppy, he overdosed on painkillers from my mother’s surgery, seeing this lab like that brought tears to me, because that’s how I lost my puppy, his name was kyoshi. It’s one of those things that you think about will never happen, but when you least expect it to, it happens.
I'm so sorry for Kyoshi 😢. I pray that Jesus is with him in Heaven.

This was pretty horrifying to watch.. hope karma hits whoever did it.
I know evidence isn't much to go on, but still think it should have been reported BEFORE they washed things away and stuff..
They can still make a report. The police don't really need to see what is in their yard bc they can contact the vet for proof. But good to make a report in case it happens again. I would probably want to wash that poison away as well, especially after seeing what it did to their pup. But that's just me.
