No kidding! Like how the fuck are stones not everywhere
If you sit still near a trail or a train track for a few minutes then look around you might have a better chance of finding one, because they spawn in near players who aren't moving fast to reduce lag I think

I was thinking the same every survival guide is so bad it's like they don't want you to be a good player
While you can combine two bones to make one knife, you can also use a boulder to make TWO knives out of those same two bones.

But the most scariest thing was meeting another player that was wearing the hockey mask and killed me using a fire axe at night. He also was screaming and laughing like a maniac. Not a single horror game ever scared me more than DayZ, that's crazy
Tbf it did came from Arma which is still the best Milsim sandbox game so a lot of it’s realism sandbox features came from other mods of the game

Yeah they're extremely rare for just being a rock.
I think they spawn in behind you or near you usually, so if you sit next to a forest trail or a train track for 5 mins and then look around near where you were sitting you might have a better chance of finding one.
It's the same thing with mushrooms/fruit trees, if you're going fast, you will have to backtrack some small distance to find any.
Going slow, and steady, and they spawn on top of you.

I had a base on that Island on official about three patches ago. Actually lasted a little over two weeks. Island is tier 2 as well. Gun cleaning kits and blazes all over the place.
2600 hours and I didn't know you could make a stand for your pot
You forgot step 1.5 - get ganked by someone in a ghillie suit, sitting in a bush 1.2km away with a sniper rifle.

I really think a desert map would be awesome. Temperature being too high because you have too much clothing on forcing you to have to travel lightly would be an awesome touch to the game so there isn’t people running around with plate carriers and 3-4 guns at a time.

Find a small stone... ive spent countless spawns searching & only ever found 1 in over a week of playing
Stand in one spot for 10 minutes and they'll start populating like the fruit and mushrooms
@matthewreynolds23 ohhh really? Thats actually very good to know. I noticed with the mushrooms and i heard about the fruit but wasnt sure it was all the same. Does this happen with regular loot aswell?
@@Alex_Janito23 no, that takes previous items being destroyed (i burn them) and then a server restart
If you can get a stone, you can make a knife, if you can make a rope, you can make a tent. If you can make a fishing rod you can fix a AH-64E Apache Guardian.
5000+ hrs here. I think I found out quite early but it was one of the more surreal discoveries

I never knew you could craft stone knife with only one small stone by using it on a boulder (always used two small stones to craft it)... And I've been playing for years...

sickness kicks my ass in dayz. i’m new and only play official, and i swear to god i’ll get a wound infection for no reason every single game. I’ve only ever used spawn bandages and i always check to see if the ones i pick up are disinfected which they are. but out of nowhere i get the icon and my screen goes blurry and i’ve only ever manage to find tetra once. So annoying

Nearly 15000 hours and i had no clue you could sharpen a stone on a boulder!
There are no big animal spawns on either of the islands, so you can only get a rope by finding it or making it with rags.
The hardest part being finding a single living organism that isnt a sweaty human
It's funny how much experience I have in this game, but theres so much on here I never knew lol
I had no idea about fishing up a cooking pot, that's incredibly useful. The rest I do regularly because I like to play DayZ as a primal nomad and see how many geared Chads I can take out with my primitive bullshit. Now, I've died more times than I can count in this adventure, but I've managed to kill 23 different geared players with nothing but improvised weapons and guerilla tactics lol

I play it on PS5 in that game falls apa rt now 33% of the time. It's improving I think? If you're going through uneven terrain like going up or down, you'll fall into the map. In towns when there's a lot to render, if you turn fast some things have to load back in. When you first load in you can spot gear and other players, it works well if you're high up in a building or on a roof. Also on PS5 with the worm you have to have hook in your hands and combine it from the ground because it won't combine in the menu Or something like that. Or maybe I was just stoned. And sometimes you get stuck in doors.
But there's no game like it. And it's a lot of fun. the Xbox version working great.
You can get 4 ropes easily by carefully looking through every town in all for four corners of the map.
DayZ players would be literally the best people with you to survive irl

heres how i do it
spawn and almost instantly die to a zombie
get some food and punch a chicken
cook it
start to go inland
get lucky and find more food
look around
either get sniped, swarmed by zombies, or live
if i live i just run around until the other 2 happen
I wish there was a primitive island server that was only crafted weapons and gear with very rare manufactured items in air drops and stuff
Somtimes i think "i might play this game" and then i realize you need to craft a knife to kill an animal to cut the animal then craft a fire starter so that you can make a fire so that you can finally cook said food
Skalistity will always be the best base if you ask me
