    After further testing this is NOT a bug, however it is weird. Watch my follow up for more details and VERY helpful info about Aegis Mode and Hardening stacks: th-cam.com/video/RuqJbxoqexU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ONhVBpF5BA6W_662

    damage reduction is capped at 95%..
    Constance is already only doing 5% of her total dmg probably because her atk is lower than Semrah's defense..
    It's the same logic when you're trying to use a morale set dmg buff or another dmg buff on a character who would be doing less than 5% of their total dmg and is being gifted whatever they need to reach 5% of their total dmg..
    For example imagine a character doing 120 dmg because they can't go lower than that..
    but the dmg formula actually get them to 100..
    with a morale set, they'll reach 104 which is still below 120 so they'll go to 120 instead..
    with 10% dmg buff, they'll get 110 so they'll be gifted what they need to reach 120 and do 120 instead..
    With a 25% dmg buff however, they'll reach 125..
    basically dmg% buff and damage reduction buff as well as dmg% debuff, they only multiply the dmg number if the dmg number isn't a pity the game gift you..
    So the idea is that you cannot get below 1723.. and i'm willing to bet that if you used a morale set in that team, that number would still be 1723.. because you probably have a lot of work to do to push past 1723, even a Laya Buff at 20% you'd probably still be at 1723..

      @@renarddubois940 That's certainly a possibility. I was able to replicate this with a Silas that had ~15k attack, that could be below the boss's defense as well though. Yet another reason that we need values for enemy defense imo

      @@renarddubois940 I just tested this with a Valeriya in triple attack% right side pieces and can confirm that the damage reduction does show up for her. It did not show for my 15k attack Silas or 18k attack Zilitu though, so I assume the Boss's defense is higher than both of those.
      I was aware of the 95% cap from defense, I did not realize there was an overall 95% DR cap though, or that these buffs would still be limited by it. Despite Valeriya's high attack it still does not directly correlate to the damage reduction implied by the buff. At 6 stacks, which should be a 60% reduction, Valeriya's damage is reduced by ~40%.
      While I'm glad to have more insight into the "why" here I think this is still a misrepresentation of the boss mechanics. Folks should not need to be aware of background damage reduction caps, unspecified enemy defense numbers, or have to translate tooltip language in order to understand how a mechanic like this will impact their hero damage.
      I'm going to make a follow-up video to this and would like to reference your post here as I think this needs to be part of a larger discussion about the mechanics of the game and the information Moonton provides to the player.

    Could it be constance isn't breaking through semrah's defense? If semrah is getting already minimum damage (5%) from her, the stacks wouldn't impact the damage. Although Constance is usually built with high attack so that seems unlikely.

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're 100% on point with this, as a previous commenter pointed out as well. The boss has ridiculously high defense in Aegis Mode, ~17,500 based on my testing. I'll be posting a deep dive video into this later today

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There's some weird interaction going on between the game's damage formula and the damage reduction stacks on the boss. I just watched WorGuides video and I have to wonder if Magda's defense/magic resist ignore influenced his results. I'm going to follow up with another video and more testing, hopefully today, so stay tuned!

  • @GohaPao
    @GohaPao หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    this is very weird because i played alot of semrah in the first week and i can feel the damage lowers as the boss stacks aegis buff, it's very clear if you played the fight enough that in the beginning of the aegis mode phase his hp% lowers very fast and afterwards it's way harder to drop his HP.
    Maybe it's a visual bug as you said or the way his damage reduction works it's not very clear, maybe there is a minimum damage threshold that we don't know, constance damage is also very low it may cause that issue as well.

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GohaPao Yep, that's been my experience as well - fewer stacks = more damage. I did test this using Silas basic attacks (~5k damage per attack) as well and the result was the same. I used constance for the video because she doesn't have anything in her kit that would produce a different amount of damage whereas Silas has modifiers like his Eye of Curse and Soul Sniping which would have produced more varied damage amounts. I thought Constance's damage would be simpler for the viewer.

    • @Mhepac85
      @Mhepac85 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe its just coding lazyness. I think they dont modify damage reductions just life% per shield stacked. This can explain same numbers with less damage.

    • @Mhepac85

      Overall, the boss was shown in mabuckets interview. The dev team was focused on it for months and the release has been a failure in the most important event the game will have: 1st year anniversary. Besides they milked us with lucius banner. Releasing a boss does not make money. Releasing a cheatcode hero does. Maybe all went to hell when they decided to launch lucius and had to modify code. Remember that we had no leaks from the leakboys about this hero. He poped out of nothing.

    • @Mhepac85
      @Mhepac85 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Greed and lack of testing. It is the same situation over and over again. A few months ago: they release boreas a broken hero, they make profit of it. They want to nerf because oh surprise he is broken. It took 1 day to people to realize how broken he was. We set peace with them because after people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars they give us a reset book. Lmao.
      Then they agree to open the test server to more content creators. Fact is it is good even better for them. As you cc dont have access to code and you are no pro on the matter feels like you are advertising their products almost for free. Not blaming you ofc but they know the timings for getting the money before fixing the issue. Still the game foundation is good enough. We allready have greed, next nightmare hero should be lazyness

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mhepac85 I get your frustration, and I don't think you're wrong. They really need to do a better job testing their content and heroes before release. I still give them the benefit of the doubt because despite these persistent issues they do genuinely seem to want to fix things, albeit slower than many of us would like!

    interesting.. this game also doesnt have clear definition of things.. like the previous games I played there's a counter to certain things.. the only thing we know is that def is countered by base atk... how about dmg reduction.. is it countered by damage increase ? or penetration?.. does ignore def work in a way that It nullifies dmg reduction too?.. that's the problem when mobs stats are only set as "status bars"

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      100%, the lack of specificity is really frustrating. People should not need an advanced degree in mathematics to understand how their tooltips translate to actual results in game

  • @BeardedDolphinWOR
    @BeardedDolphinWOR หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thanks for posting with the actual damage numbers, this was great. Question - If it was only a visual bug, wouldn't you expect the damage to still go down after removing the hardening stacks? I just can't think of another explanation outside of this being a Semrah bug unless it's Lucius that's broken and he's only "visually" removing the buffs. Is that what you mean?

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BeardedDolphinWOR When I said "visual bug" I meant that the damage text wasn't accurately displaying the damage Semrah was receiving. So for instance maybe the 1723 damage that Constance is hitting for is base damage, and the text is just not updating to account for the damage mitigation from the hardening stacks. I'm trying to reconcile my experience that removing the buffs with Lucius results in more damage in the Aegis Mode phase with the fact that the scrolling combat text shows the same damage regardless if the buff stacks. I'm just guessing though, but hopefully a dev sees this and can shed some light on what is actually going on.
      Hopefully that makes sense!

    Constance doing true dmg, ignoring all mdef and pdef?

    • @BluntgutsGaming
      @BluntgutsGaming  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@matthewhorton2156 No, she does physical damage with her attacks. Based on another comment it seems there is a damage reduction cap in game preventing the buffs from taking effect because Constance's damage is very low.
      With that said I've tested this with heroes at both 15k and 18k attack with the same result. My 25k attack Valeriya shows some damage reduction as the stacks accumulate, however the reduction is less % than the buffs would imply. Just another example of the obtuse way this game calculates damage.

    Another issue .... your hero lockout timer doesnt reset at the same time Semrah resets. What this means is if you cant attack until the last hour of the last day of the week ..... your heros will be locked out for the entire next week until the last hour of the last day.
    Moonton needs to make the hero lockout reset at the same time Semrah resets so you get a fresh week to play around regardless of what happened the previous week.
