  • The only issue you will ever get with a ZZ plant is root rot. These are extremely pest resistant and there is usually no element except overwatering which kills it.
    How do you know you have overwatered?
    1. Yellowing leaves : sure shot sign of overwatering.
    2. Your soil does not dry up quickly after a watering episode. It should normally dry within 2 days indoors.
    3. There is bad odour from the soil.
    In any of the above cases, please please check the roots and act immediately.

    I water my healthy large ZZ Plant Every 70 Days. Its healthy & had a Major growth spurt in December. It had 12" leaves when i got it as a present in October. It is now 3' tall & 3" wide. I studied furiously about them
    ... Theyre from arrid regions along the western edge of the desert in Africa near & around Zanzebar. They like it dry & to be drenched when watering, & Never let them Sit in water. Thanx 4 posting.

    Exactly same case happened with me yesterday from Ugaoo. Complete same...I'm also trying to revive the plant, despite being complete noob in gardening. Infact this was the first plant I ever bought because it need least care regarding watering.

    I applied cinnamon powder to the root. It also acts as fungicide

    When you cut the rizone all the stems will rot and die.i tried once😢

    • @greenophiles
      @greenophiles  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rot might be due to continued watering even after removing the roots. In any case the easiest and failsafe way is to cut the stem (petiole) and place it in water to grow a new Rhizome.

      Being specific here, I wouldn’t use use outdoor garden soil but I’ve had success with regular indoor organic potting soil. The rhizome became huge and I had to repot it. But honestly it’s really hard to kill them unless you’re an over water person.
