    Yes it's Dreamscapes with June Rollins. She came to our Arts Council once in Wadesboro, NC. She told me she is concentrating on her work now and cannot come back soon.

    I recently purchased Yupo Paper with a technique kit (book/video) and love what the possiblities are. I'm so inspired to try Distress inks now. Some amazing results using the inks.
    FYI = Yupo paper was originally created for labels on food containers (those labels that aren't paper are Yupo paper)

    Hi, Tim. The artist who does the Dreamscapes is June Rollins, and she is amazing. There are a lot of exceptional AI artists. Karen Walker is another name you can check out on TH-cam. There are also a number of Facebook sites dedicated to Alcohol Inks.

    Yupo is a little expensive, but I pay a lot for Anna Griffin materials because others like my work with them. I bought all your alcohol inks, (plus all your other products) and a pad of Yupo, because I like your work.

    I find myself doing alcohol ink art everyday now using yupo paper and the ink. How can I attach yupo paper to canvas, either traditional or wood? I can't find any information anywhere other than using Golden soft gel.

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to be careful. If you use a medium over the alcohol inks they may be reactive. You can always attach using brads or staples to a canvas. Could make for an interesting look. Otherwise, medium on the back of the paper is the best way.

    So, when I want to use the reaist technique on alxohol inked yupo, do I ise B,axk soot or archivel ink? Just a little comfused. Thanks for taking the to answer this question, as I am confused. Love yoir videos!

  • @myrnamccolley4251

    That stencil technique probably would not work on a ceramic tile, right?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. I would give it a try on an inexpensive tile.

  • @littlefeatherspirit
    @littlefeatherspirit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I tried the stamp with archival ink and wiped it off and it completely smeared what went wrong?

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +littlefeatherspirit It could be that your ink is to wet and when you are wiping it off it is spearing and removing more of the background. Trying giving the ink a moment to dry. But if you wait too long then it won't come off. It take a bit of experimenting.

    • @littlefeatherspirit
      @littlefeatherspirit 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ScrapTimeVideos thank you I'll keep trying

    • @bmr208
      @bmr208 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      mine did the same idk what I'm doing wrong

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Brittany Riggleman It takes a bit of practice. As I mentioned above, then ink may be a bit wet, therefore smearing when you rub it off.

  • @dianaswanson4859
    @dianaswanson4859 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you get it to really dry.??

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ink dries by the alcohol dissipating. But if you add more alcohol to it, it will re-activate. If you add water - nothing will change.

  • @dancingsenior8011
    @dancingsenior8011 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you glue something, paper, to the finished piece?? ( most excited I've been since my proposal) lol

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - you can glue things to Yupo - just use a wet glue - such as a multi-medium.

    Hi Tim , I tried to order Alcohol paints etc from you but you wouldn't send to Australia ? I bought from other sites in the USA and it was no problem . My question is ,. Is there some problem with supplying alcohol inks to Australia ? I would love to hear from you as I am just starting out and need a whole lot of stuff .

    • @ScrapTimeVideos

      Hi - this isn't Tim's site. I would email Ranger directly about your concern. I know when they sent me Alcohol Inks they had to be sent by ground.

      +Nanaslegacy the Alcohol Inks are Acid Free, not sure of the paper. But I don't know if you want to put them on photos you are planning on keeping for 100 years.

    I Never have any luck with lifting alcohol ink off a piece, as you just did with the stencil. it never gets any white in it. also, the technique you did with the flourish stamp at the bottom of the piece i stamped twice with jet black archival ink and then tried wiping it off as you did, however, you can barely see any difference. am i not using enough alcohol blending fluid and the wrong alcohol ink colors for the first technique? do i need to quickly do the second technique to lift the color? or should i heat the ink before lifting???? thanks much for a reply--i have been meaning to ask about this for some time when i have tried them on other projects without success. thanks again.

    • @ScrapTimeVideos
      @ScrapTimeVideos  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am watching Tim in the Creative Chemistry 3 Class and he mentioned if you have an Alcohol Ink BG and you stamp with archival it only wipes off a non-porous material such as glass or acrylic. It won't work on glossy cardstock. However, it will work on Yupo paper. So maybe you are using the wrong surface.

  • @jjwinans1461
    @jjwinans1461 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Let me tell you something about Yupo and alcohol inks. You do get the incredible results shown here by Tim, BUT no matter how long you let the ink dry, it will still rub off...on your hands, your white card stock, your clothing, or anything else that touches it. I solved the problem by letting the ink dry overnight then putting the Yupo into a Dawn soap solution and rubbing all the excess off. After washing thus and drying again, it will not smudge.

    • @Annsanity2go
      @Annsanity2go 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +J&J Winans I'll have to try that. Question for you...Have you tried adding more alcohol after you wash it in the Dawn solution? Just wondering if it would reconstitute the AI that is left.

    • @jjwinans1461
      @jjwinans1461 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't actually add more alcohol afterward. Washing was the last step before using the item so I can't answer your question. Maybe someone else knows and will comment.
