PE Mini preorders looking like September now as well.
People doesn't realise tracker is just like any other normal step sequencer with micro shift control over steps - It's just like Digitakt or Octatrack rotated 90 defrees clockwise in terms of playback direction and with added display to actually see notes.. You can even switch playback direction to classic left to right (at least on Tracker OG) and then it is exactly same thing like Digi /Octa, just with more visual and detail view on pattern Only real disadvantage of this Tracker when compared to Digitakt is you can use just 2 param locks per step where on Digi you can param lock any number of params per step.. other that that i would say Tracker OG has more advantages over Digitakt and Tracker Mini has even stereo samples which is huge thing - except of Mini, there are just 2 full blown stereo samplers in price range bellow 1000€ - Electribe2 and SP404mk2 (not counting MPC One cause that is basically DAW in hw box)
What if you read sheet music from top to bottom like a Japanese scroll, and what if all the notes were represented by their letters and octave numbers? Tracker interface 101
Maybe you should do another show called BADASS GEAR! The sounds and musical compositions you pulled out of that Speak And Spell are nothing short of astounding! I want one but wouldn't have the foggiest first idea of where to begin on how to use it. @@AudioPilz I actually sold my Polyend Tracker to fund the purchase of the Dirtywave M8. While it's certainly more complex and challenging to use, the form factor and functions outweigh everything else. Honestly, I'm never selling my M8. I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
M8 tracker >>>> Tracker Mini in terms of interface, sound and features. It’s not even really a close comparison imo. Polyend can afford more marketing because they’re a much larger company but the m8 simply makes the mini look embarrassing by comparison. M8 keeps adding robust synthesis options via firmware as well as other features while polyend trackers stagnate.
@@davidhays2846 M8 tracker added a large text mode a while back in a firmware update. Though I don't think the text is hard to see in the base mode, some people prefer the large text mode. The drawbacks for the polyend mini tracker are too numerous to even list, the display is arguably better but I think the better thought out interface, mechanical keys and the key layout on the m8 negate any benefits the larger screen would give me. It's basically all muscle memory at this point and picking up the m8 was surprisingly super fast.
Never had a problem seeing the M8 font, but a few people did so Tim recently added "big font" mode. I wonder if there's much difference between the actual font sizes on PETM and M8.
I actually considered a Tracker Mini until I remembered I have SunVox set up on my Steam Deck and instantly lost interest. I'd say I can do anything thing the Tracker Mini can do and more but that would be an understatement not that it's bad gear per say just I have my mobile tracker fix all ready.
Congrats on 100k and once again somehow selling me on wanting something I didn't know existed despite while learning about it's existence, also learning how deeply flawed it is as a product...
I think you should revisit the mini with a new video focusing on thr big firmware upgrade: it now has 8 new xtra channels that can be used for midi or its own new synth engines, which was a weakness you noted in the first version. It is still not immediate due to no knobs, but it adds a lot of power.
In the past I would watch these videos purely for the comedy but now it provides me with a solid alternative to a majority of monotonous music technology videos that are over-saturated with sponsored content

You can even switch playback direction to classic left to right (at least on Tracker OG) and then it is exactly same thing like Digi /Octa, just with more visual and detail view on pattern
Only real disadvantage of this Tracker when compared to Digitakt is you can use just 2 param locks per step where on Digi you can param lock any number of params per step.. other that that i would say Tracker OG has more advantages over Digitakt and Tracker Mini has even stereo samples which is huge thing - except of Mini, there are just 2 full blown stereo samplers in price range bellow 1000€ - Electribe2 and SP404mk2 (not counting MPC One cause that is basically DAW in hw box)
Welcome to DINOHATTEN! 90s Mario movie intro = instant like! Florian, you are king!
Thank you so much!!!
Yay! Happy Friday 😘
Have a nice weekend!!!
had my eyes on this for a while now, looks and sounds great! And the jams were sick as always! Loved the track naming feature lmao
Thank you!!!
I love tracker music, never understood the concept of making tracker music.
It's like coding. But simpler.
What if you read sheet music from top to bottom like a Japanese scroll, and what if all the notes were represented by their letters and octave numbers?
Tracker interface 101
@@The_Mister_EAaaaahhhhh….. No?
Best insert of Mr Burns meme ever.
Also: Painful Wrist Modulation!
And again the tracks were bangers!
Thank you!!!
When even real keyboard synths don't have a mod wheel.
Id like to see Renoise on something like this one of these days.
Would that actually work?
@@AudioPilz I think he meant on your channel 🙂
this is one of my favorite demo songs you made 😮
Thank you!!!
Came for the bad gear, stayed for the amazingly talented songs. Wow.
Thank you!!!
Happy fridayyyy! I bought an S1 cos of you, bossman xx
Nice!!! Have a nice weekend!!!
Polish product this time... 👍👍👍 You have my attention and I am not going to say anything about MC-101 ;)
It will happen, no worries!!!
Maybe you should do another show called BADASS GEAR! The sounds and musical compositions you pulled out of that Speak And Spell are nothing short of astounding! I want one but wouldn't have the foggiest first idea of where to begin on how to use it. You turned what looks like the center display of an AMG Black Mercedes into an electronic musical work of high-tech art! Once again you have blown people's minds. Bravo Meistro!
Thank you so much!!! Great idea!!!
Please do Dirtywave M8
Great suggestion, thank you!!!
@@AudioPilz I actually sold my Polyend Tracker to fund the purchase of the Dirtywave M8. While it's certainly more complex and challenging to use, the form factor and functions outweigh everything else. Honestly, I'm never selling my M8. I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
wow that sample jam at the end was sick
Thanks!!!
I ordered mine in early April and it’s still listed as “processing” on their website, even after they said it would ship last week 😢
I feel you!!!
Cause they shipped yours to @audiopilz lol
This thing actually looks pretty cool.
And that last jam was awesome!!!!!!
Thank you!!!
It's very hard to find these around here!!!
The final jam quite possibly is one of your best.
Thank you!!!
Roland SH-4d when?
Great suggestion, thank you!!! These are super hard to come by atm
@@AudioPilz you really do reply to every comment. Damm man where do you get the time. Fantastic content!!!👌🙌
So excited to see this video tonight. I'm waiting for my preorder to arrive, hope it gets your blessings though ^^.
Thank you!!!
I really have to give that one a try!
@@AudioPilz Steam Deck on Bad Gear would be kind of hilarious
TE digs always appreciated ; ) Nick Batt update PWMeme inserted well...AudioPilz's wit is sharp.
Thank you!!!
£700 for this tracker is insane. You may as well buy the older one for less than half price. Or get the real pocketable thing, the Dirtwave M8.
I really have to give the M8 a try!
i never was able to get into trackers. but man venetian snarez is a genius. saw him do a live set with 2 pc towers running tracker back in like 99
Yeah, for me an "old school" musician, these things look like something programmer geeks would love.
Wow, I'd love to have seen that
Trackers: grooveboxes designed by people for computers to enjoy.
Lol, shots fired;)
It looks like a $700. headache.
3:02 - 3:19 - you have the perfect voice to sample for a french tek tune.
Merci beaucoup!!!
you’ve featured the only ‘instrument’ I’m able to afford. The monotron. Now my life is complete.
❤️😀❤️😀❤️😀
Dirtywave M8 is superior
Shots fired;)
I only knew that thing by name. THX for expanding my knowledge! This time's suggestion is CASIO's first additive synth, the notorious 1000P. from '82.
Great suggestion, thank you!!!
First
Nice!!!
first jam is a real world example of buying that gas station weed
edit: holy shit that foley techno is next level
Thank you so much!!!
Polyend is all around meh
☝️Peasant
Shots fired;)
Tracker Field and a shot at the overlords all sauced up with that really nice techno tune. You sir are a credit to the TH-cam. Universal credit :)
Thank you so much!!!
Congrats on 100k and once again somehow selling me on wanting something I didn't know existed despite while learning about it's existence, also learning how deeply flawed it is as a product...
Thank you so much!!!
@@AudioPilz thank you for all the amazing content and how I now check the current used prices of Panasonic Toraiz every month
I think you should revisit the mini with a new video focusing on thr big firmware upgrade: it now has 8 new xtra channels that can be used for midi or its own new synth engines, which was a weakness you noted in the first version. It is still not immediate due to no knobs, but it adds a lot of power.
👍
In the past I would watch these videos purely for the comedy but now it provides me with a solid alternative to a majority of monotonous music technology videos that are over-saturated with sponsored content
Thank you so much!!!
Zoiinks..you have done again my man! nice work as usual...damn bad gear is addicting as hell!
Thank you so much!!!
whoa, cool to see you trying new stuff with the recorded sounds. You put that little mic thru its paces and it sounded great!
Thank you!!!
If one is looking for multitrack sampling and sequencing capabilities, this seems like a viable option. Thanks for another great show!
Thank you!!!
