Still my favorite game of all time. Being an outcast not liked by people as a wolf. Thrown out of places , in the darkest of times and yet standing ground and keeping to move on. And then when light is brought back to the region link is like a symbol that helps the people and encourages them and then they get courage like Colin. Its such a beautiful game. This game made me realise i'd rather be the hated wolf in the twilight while other people turn into ghosts/shells of themselves. And that through small acts of kindness i can collect enough light to pull my environment out of dark times. to show bravery to be inspired by and being a inspiration to others.
The relationship between Midna and Zelda is one of the things the manga fleshed out to the point where I really wish it was in the game. Having them be old friends make the stakes much higher and I bawl like a child when reading that part in the manga TToTT
This was one of the things I was really curious about, if it was part of the game or just the manga. Agreed, it would've definitely been nice to see in-game 😭
Really I thought the manga didn't have as strong of a relationship as thr game. The manga they separated after "midna lament" which really broke their connection for me

In the game Midna and Zelda also only have a business like relationship as sovereigns, while they used to be best friends in the manga, so I also definitely don't agree that their relationship is stronger in the game.

I absolutely love animals, wolves being no exception so I actually preferred playing as Wolf Link whenever I could. It just made me really happy because Wolf Link is very cool.
The entire Midna's desperate hour sequence is one of the best parts of the game, they really nailed the atmosphere with that soundtrack. By the way, there are a couple extra bottles you can pick up: the lantern oil salesman with the afro in Faron Woods will sell you a bottle for 100 rupees. There is also one you can get at Hena's Fishing Hole at the Upper Zora River just by fishing in the right place (and more importantly, it's another excuse to play the fishing minigame).
Let me elaborate. The water got cold trying to take it to the goron. To give the goron hot spring water, you must fund 1000 rupees in malo mart to fix the bridge. Then speak to the elder out malo mart and he will give you a barrel of hot spring water to goron in front of the missing bridge. He’ll then have a stand selling hot spring water in castle town just outside the exit the goron is.
Right after defeating an enemy, if you don’t move around and put your weapon away, you do a sheathing animation It’s the same animation you see after you learn a new sword move from the Hero’s Shade Also for Wolf Link(Bread), if you don’t move around after pulling yourself out of water, he shakes off the water like an actual dog/wolf would
Yeah, I just did the exact same thing on my playthrough…warped to get spring water, rushed back, only to pour it at the Goron’s feet and just…stand there and stare. 😂 You have to help the Goron at the broken west bridge, first, alas. You now how it is…Link has to single-handedly fund a bridge repair, rush a barrel of spring water to the languishing Goron, THEN bring water from that Goron to the Goron in front of the rocks. P. S. Allow the strategy my brothers and I discover when this game was first released to spare you: when you are carrying that barrel of spring water, stick to the edges of the plain. Otherwise, pesky spinning cactus plants will defeat you. Many times.
LOL I think it's just so deceiving, especially because the Goron doesn't hint at needing anything special, so the first thing you think of is a bottle. Thanks for sharing the strategy, I'll make sure to remember it when I get to that part! Sounds like it was a real pain in the rear to acquire that knowledge 😭

You found a poe! This game is the reason why I was nervous when I learned that there are poes in TotK as well. But they aren't as angry in that game, thankfully.
Heya Gato, you can get more jars if you take the bird ride back to where the Zoro kingdom is (or warp to the kingdom). From there head downstream til you get to that howly statue, then go to the wall with the door in it. There's a big fishing area there, and if you go to the smaller pond and toss in a line, you can get a few extra bottles since its kind of the junk pond (you'll also find a few boots). then you'll have more jars for fairies and lantern oil (if I remember correctly, the yellow land jelly creatures give you lantern oil after you kill them). Been having the best of time watching your videos on this series, as its an introduction to your channel, and I'm so happy you've read the manga! Love u and keep on gamin!

I'd recommend revisiting the lantern guy, kakariko village, and exploring castle town more. Backtracking is the law of the land in twilight princess and skyward sword, cant say im mad tho with such interesting environments. Dont forget to also do tourism!

The way you refer to attacks as slapping never ceases to amuse me. I've been meaning check out the comic/manga adaptation of Twilight Princess; I had the same experience you did with Majora's Mask!
From my understanding, Zelda's soul (which was most likely put in twilight by Midna to protect her) was transferred from Zelda and her physical body (most likely with gannondorf or in the castle during the game) to Midna, which gives her the light powers which make her withstand the light cause Midna pretty much has the light powers of Zelda inside her.
My first Zelda game and probably the best video game I've ever played. Genuinely loved it that much, had a profound impact on my childhood. The world feels so alive. Didn't feel such love for a Zelda game till I played Tears of the Kingdom (the other zeldas were also powerful to me but there was something about tears of the kingdom that brought that special feeling to me).

The statue puzzle was so bad for me that I looked up the tutorial, wrote down the directions, and kept it in the case forever. It's a shame that my Wii is broken.
I love how everyone is re-visiting this game and giving it the praise it deserves. The last true man console Zelda game to have the trifecta in story, gameplay mechanics, and bosses.
Midna always had her powers in the light (recall how you left the twilight to grab things you needed like the bridge and the volcanic rock), you're just limited to warping while in wolf form (for some reason, I honestly don't get why). When I first got to that part of the game, I assumed Zelda passed her triforce powers to Midna, partially because of the attention given to Zelda's triforce powers in that scene, and partially because of something I don't wanna talk about yet because spoilers. The sacred grove remix of Saria's song is one of my favorite tracks (possibly my favorite track) in all of Zelda. Granted that's partially because of my nostalgia for it, since Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I ever played and I heard that track a *LOT* because of how long I spent in that area, but I just genuinely like the tune too. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the original version of Saria's Song too, but I love the strange mix of emotions the sacred grove remix has; somehow somber and ominous but calming and beautiful at the same time. The little guy that you chase through the grove is technically called the Skull Kid, but back before I learned his official name I called him the puppet master (for obvious reasons). Once again you've reached a point in this game where I can't blame anyone for struggling! Those two statues drive me *crazy* any time I play this game! I've mentioned in previous comments that I'm usually good at Zelda puzzles. *That one* is an exception! I always end up just looking up the guide for what order to jump in because hours of effort tend to result in *nothing* when I try to do it myself. Dog name suggestion: Marshmallow! Because it is white and round and very sweet! Tip for all goron related stuff: visit Malo Mart in Kakariko.
I've officially gotten bamboozeld by when she had her powers, the brain did not keep track!! Lmao I can totally see spending time in the sacred grove and just *being* there. If I consider something a downside to recording these sessions, it's being aware of time instead of just being idle. Sure, it can be done off-screen, but it changes things a little. I've come to the conclusion that Zelda games require time not only to understand how things work to solve a puzzle or beat a boss, but to get absorbed in the atmosphere. Regardless, I think they did a great job at having the music really get to you, and I can see how it's a favourite of yours. It makes me think that surely some folks can actually look at the puzzle and solve it?? But like I said in the video, I just sat back and moved around until something worked, haha. Noted on the tip; I'm planning on running around and exploring areas in the next episode before going to Telma's, so I'll definitely go to Kakariko!

If you love TP then it's deffo OK to just watch this one from the get go, but if you have the time and want then I would recommend watching the Skyward Sword LP first as that was Gato's first true Zelda game =)
