Today is my brother's 12th birthday. But for the past 12 years I haven't celebrated any of his birthdays with him. Not even six weeks after he was born he was taken from me, and from my family. My little angel, just gone. Four years ago when I first heard this song, all I could think about was my little brother. "I would do anything for another minute with you, it's not getting easier, it's not getting easier. I hope that you're folding stars." And I really hope he is. I love you Lachlan ♡♡♡
For anyone playing this who is mourning the death of a loved one, you never stop missing them , but you learn to cope better. They will always live on in you x
lost my mother when I was 20.. now very close to 42.. I now have lived longer than she had that chance to... with that loss,, has given me so much more strength, to push forward.. my only real thing is.. everything good in my life happened, After she had passed.. not having the option of sharing my son with her.. at times. (cliché) all these people around. never felt so alone
"The reason I'm so upset is because I was away playing shows when, if I had been at home doing a normal job, I could have been here and I could have helped. Because we were travelling and it was so out of the blue, I couldn't even get back to say goodbye..." - Simon Neil on his mother's death - 2007 Those feels man.
i lost my mum 5 weeks ago and this song means soo much to me, i got the lyrics tattooed on my side and everyday i think of what Simon went through and can relate. to everyone with both their parents and family, please embrace and cherish every moment together . . . . love u mum
My son has put me on to this group. Even at my age -60 - I am impressed. Mike saw themlive not so long ago in USA somewhere. I thnk he was on cloud 9. Good one guys. nice sound. I can also relate to the lyrics.
This song has helped me through a lot of hard times, It helped me realise I needed to move in with my Dad because i'd reached a whole new low. So thank you Biffy Clyro , this is such a beautiful song
Simons mother will be remembered through all of us dedicated fans :'), the album only took around a week to write and its the best they created...... MON THE BIFF
I don't know why but the more depressing biffy songs tend to be my favourites. You got this, opposites (which is by far my fav biffy song), machines, people, medicine, many of horror etc. There just tends to be a lot of raw emotion that goes into these kinds of biffy songs and to say the least. I fucking love that
My nan was called Helena, she was the the most special person I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. She died when i was 17. 14 years ago. It never gets easier, she was loved dearly. And I’ve not been the same since. X
When the song came out, i loved it for a very long time the composition, build up, harmony and singing was just perfect... One of Biffy clyro's best songs till date. Memories.
I met Simon and James three days ago. They were incredibly humble and sweet, signing my things and taking pictures with me. Really truly humble. And I waved to Ben on stage and he waved back. Amazing night.
Biffy Clyro are actually the best band I'd never heard of until the AFL put 'The Captain' on their adverts last year, and now I find three awesome albums came before 'Revolutions'? Dude, I'm never going to get tired of finding these awesome songs. I just heard this and it's already in my top three biffy songs (57 and The ideal height are the others).
My daughter has lost one brother to SIDS and another was stillborn. She has always referred to them as Folding Stars. She uses this song as her tribute to them.
I can't believe they've scrapped this from their setlist, great song... Very emotional for Simon, so you can understand why, hopefully saving it for a special occasion like the Readng/Leeds Headline show? ;) Rest in piece Mrs Neil
This is such a powerful but sad song. It must have been a job to record this so well. "I would do anything for another minute with you, cos, it's not getting easier" hard hitting, sobering lyrics.
this was stunning live :) he stood at the end of the stage and as he sang a ring of lightbulbs on strings came down and he just stood there inside the circle of flickering lightbulbs :) it was absolutely stunning :)
I remember seeing him perform this for the very last time live (as it was understandably hard for him to keep singing). I had also recently lost my mother to cancer, I didn't even hear the song I just remember understanding the pain in his eyes.
Aye for sure mate. Loch Lomond is one of the most beautiful places ive ever been. And the Scottish highlands and the Cairngorm mountains are stunning places to view. If our summers were just a bit hotter and longer it would be an even more amazing place to stay. Im used to the weather but id love longer summers.
I'm a Scottish teenager; I only ever drink socially, I'm nothing but nice to people who give me respect, I keep myself fit and healthy, not one bit superstitious and I'm certainly not over religious. So please do not plaster us as a country with stereotypes, I am extremely proud to be Scottish, Mon the Biff!
Ironically tho. This is the best song I've ever heard on some else's behalf. Folding stars is for times past. If Simon ever wants to prove me wrong...sorry. I'm just a shan northeastern lady...I'm not boring tho

I think it's pronounced " 'mon the biff " in their native tongue.
Weirdly it is mon the biffy but people just say mon the biff for no real reason
Hollie 1234 mon is Scottish slang it's like saying come on the biffy
"The reason I'm so upset is because I was away playing shows when, if I had been at home doing a normal job, I could have been here and I could have helped. He wrote it about his mother after she passed away, and I agree, the song has so much more meaning when you know what it's about.
thumbs up, this is real music. This is the meaning of song writing. The meaning of music. Hail the buffy!
By far the best biffy song ?? i certainly think so
I really don`t know why there songs do not have more views??? There just amazing.
Because they dont sing about drinking, partying and doing drugs. Its kind of sad when you think of it

They have more emotion put into them, it's why some artists produce their best materials after a loss, because it gives them so much to work with.
Thats how i feel about my recently passed mum, missed every day, if i only had another day RIP mum loved always
Oh my, this song actually gives me goosebumps. I LOVE YOU BIFFY!
As soon as this song plays, the pain sets in🖤 a beautiful song .

ELEANORRRR!!!!
Its true, Scotland is massively overlooked due to the amount of people in England. Scotland is a beautiful country, with some amazing mountains.
Just a beautiful piece of music and a perfect tribute!
I met Simon and James three days ago. They were incredibly humble and sweet, signing my things and taking pictures with me. Really truly humble. And I waved to Ben on stage and he waved back. Amazing night.
this and machines... the feels man, so much emotion.
Still as powerful and heart-wrenching as it was when I first heard it back in 2007. I miss you, Ash.
this song and its b-sides are some of biffy's best songs imho
Biffy Clyro are actually the best band I'd never heard of until the AFL put 'The Captain' on their adverts last year, and now I find three awesome albums came before 'Revolutions'? Dude, I'm never going to get tired of finding these awesome songs. I just heard this and it's already in my top three biffy songs (57 and The ideal height are the others).
I'll admit that the first time I heard this, after reading what it was about, I cried.
