Today is my brother's 12th birthday. But for the past 12 years I haven't celebrated any of his birthdays with him. Not even six weeks after he was born he was taken from me, and from my family. My little angel, just gone. Four years ago when I first heard this song, all I could think about was my little brother. lost my mother when I was 20.. now very close to 42.. I now have lived longer than she had that chance to... with that loss,, has given me so much more strength, to push forward.. my only real thing is.. everything good in my life happened, After she had passed.. not having the option of sharing my son with her.. at times. (cliché) all these people around. never felt so alone

I don't know why but the more depressing biffy songs tend to be my favourites. You got this, opposites (which is by far my fav biffy song), machines, people, medicine, many of horror etc. There just tends to be a lot of raw emotion that goes into these kinds of biffy songs and to say the least. I fucking love that
They have more emotion put into them, it's why some artists produce their best materials after a loss, because it gives them so much to work with.

Biffy Clyro are actually the best band I'd never heard of until the AFL put 'The Captain' on their adverts last year, and now I find three awesome albums came before 'Revolutions'? Dude, I'm never going to get tired of finding these awesome songs. I just heard this and it's already in my top three biffy songs (57 and The ideal height are the others).

This is such a powerful but sad song. It must have been a job to record this so well. "I would do anything for another minute with you, cos, it's not getting easier" hard hitting, sobering lyrics.
I remember seeing him perform this for the very last time live (as it was understandably hard for him to keep singing). I had also recently lost my mother to cancer, I didn't even hear the song I just remember understanding the pain in his eyes.

this was stunning live :) he stood at the end of the stage and as he sang a ring of lightbulbs on strings came down and he just stood there inside the circle of flickering lightbulbs :) it was absolutely stunning :)
