By far, the BEST review of the RHO from any reviewer professional. Nobody can come close to how thorough and professional you are from a factual perspective. Zero emotion, all logical perspective. Well done sir.
Thanks for the video. First person I’ve seen so far talking consumption. Now, 14 mpg is just 3 mpg better than my TRX. I bet when you press it you’ll be down at 13 or even 12. I live in Europe so gas consumption is important, still I’ll rather pay a bit more for V8 supercharged 🚀
25% better fuel economy is VERY significant when it comes to trucks. As he states, that is an additional 100 miles (not kiliometers) of range lol. I'll take that over a thirsty TRX😂
They could really go for some heritage points here with an SRT-6 to signal off to the old SRT-10, make it RWD with an LSD, with a 540hp engine, give it the goofy spoiler, might I say... a third pedal? Lowered, stiff suspension, wide, low profile summer tires. Just make the thing a burnout machine like the original from 2001. They'd be uncontested. Sure it would be a sin to have 4 doors, but they could make it double cab for weight reduction. Honestly I could see them making it weigh less than the SRT-10, as that had to carry around the 8.0v10, which was a monstrously heavy v10 and made the truck stupid nose heavy. This would actually have a better weight balance, especially if they pulled some tricks like carbon fiber hoods and roofs to lower center of gravity. Of course they'd have to have an AWD version so that way they could get TRX level 0-60, but come on a RWD drag truck would be awesome. Maybe we'd see a Silverado SS with similar treatments. 6.2 with the corvette 485hp hp performance intake and exhaust and slightly higher rpms, Magride and lowered suspension ect. Ford would have to take the mustang version of the 5.0 with the 7500rpm redline. Benefit of the high revving v8 would be the lack of low end torque, so in real 0-60 attempts, it could actually keep the tires stuck to the ground vs making a could of smoke. Ford's other advantage is they'd be ballsy enough to make it a reg cab truck where the other two would most likely do crew only.
Seems the best value truck for 2025. It's certainty a step from the Raptor, in terms of performance and luxury. I own a Gen 2 Raptor and decided to order an RHO this week. Looks like a 4 month wait
Ordered a all Black w/ package 1 upgrades back in August just waiting on SHAP to build the damn truck and deliver it. Can wait to get my hands on it 🛻 💨
Definitely cool. Concerned with the reliability from a clean sheet engine from Stelantis, but if its reliable, maybe it can be really nice. Dodge does a great job with these trucks.
If they would make a Dakota version of that truck to fight the Ranger raptor. RAM and Jeep need to get onboard with what the people want not a government party. Ford offers 150 Raptor, Ranger raptor, and the extremely over priced Bronco raptor. The RHO seems to be the only hail marry the company is offering
I love this truck, but the first year high strung engine worries me. I know its been in previous Stellantis vehicles, but still Plus, no oil dipstick is an odd choice. Trusting a sensor for the life of your engine seems like a bad idea
The passenger screen is so if you have a good co pilot they can monitor Temps and oil pressure like baja trucks do once you start going really fast and start pushing it it becomes to dangerous to take your eyes off the road.
No dipstick in hurricane engines are really properly pizzing me off... like our technology have never issues... what, is it also gvt mandate to spend more on "monitoring system" instead simple meter of oil level so we don't have to hope for the best the monitoring system works
Im glad you brought that up! I dont trust a sensor to tell me about my oil pressure. Its just asking for a catastrophic engine failure. I can see engines burning up.
While I prefer a dipstick, this is a growing trend. Toyota has even started doing this on some new engines as well. There is no government mandate on this, it's apparently just a reality that new car buyers tend to not ever check the oil themselves, so instead of waiting for a low-pressure sensor to pick up an issue, car companies have decided that drivers need a sensor and warning system to tell them it's getting low.
Hey Alex, thanks for the awesome reviews! I'm currently debating between the RHO and the Ranger Raptor. I know they're different segments, but given that there's about a $15K - $25K difference between the two, which one would you choose?
Someone needs to measure the size of the screen from above the trailer gain area and see if it’s any bigger than the 12” screen because to me upgrading the size of the screen to 14.4” but adding those buttons at the bottom doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade to me.
this thing is pathetic its got a 3 litre engine, turbo charged and 8 gears and still has poor miles per gallon which is about the same as my 2013 silverado, i suspect its due to the RHO's weight which beats me why a off road truck needs to weight more than an adult rhino is beyond me, what is dodge thinking
One slight disappointment.. I would like to have actually heard the new engine ... You were talking the ENTIRE time you were driving... Love the useful info as always.. But the sound of the new engine is a big deal.. since we have lost the amazing V8 Supercharged music. What does RHO stand for.. personally... sounds dumb to me.. TRex.. would be hard to beat thought anyway.
@@ALMX5DP The true point is the underlying question of why did they build an engine without an oil dipstick? To solely rely on electronic means of checking your oil level is FUBAR; a dipstick can also give you an indication as to the 'health' of your oil. BMW tried it years ago...and put it back in.
@@jeffdiggs6318 I can think of a few reasons, one of which being to help people who don’t or aren’t familiar with checking their own oil. This can notify them if they are running low. Yes it’s designing to the lowest common denominator but such is the world we live in today. But it’s not a big deal like I mentioned since a dipstick can be fairly easily installed DIY style.
BMW isn't wholesale going back to dipsticks, they brought it back on the 4.4L V8, but they seem pretty committed to not having one on future I6, I4, and I3 engines. Apparently few customers actually ever used them.

Right? That’s a big one for me. I’ve been driving V8s for years, my wife has a V6 Porsche and it’s just like a toy compared to my TRX. I get why this will sell but im holding onto supercharger
Citation needed, they just spent like a billion dollars to reconfigure SHAP for truck production. There has always been _some_ RAM production in Mexico (Hemi engines, the ProMaster, etc.), so that's not even news.
@ Yeah they reconfigured it for production of the garbage ev truck they are going to sell 45 of. While moving normal truck production out of the country. While also getting rid of alot of employees.
Honestly how much did they have to pay you dirtbag car reviewers to say this piece of junk is good. All of the Ram engineers that got laid off due to the upcoming Bankruptcy filing have said they know this engine will explode at 60k miles
It is not his job to know.. nor how could he know what the long term reliability is going to be. His job it to show the vehicle.. tell us the features so we can compare it to others options in the market... It is NOT his job to speculate on things no one can possibly know for sure yet...
