Uff for god sake stop this blabbing over just sai pallavi ..there is much more effort of music director ,art director and choreographer, singer , lyricist ..i wonder why some fools just praise only the one person they like and attribute all the credit to one actress just becoz she dance good ..even the background artists did fabulous job on par with sai pallavi and some times the facial expressions are better compared to sai pallavi but the camera is just focused on lead actress
This is one of the last song penned by the great Telugu poet and lyricist Sirivennela Sitaramasastri garu, who passed away recently, a great loss to Telugu language.

This is a Telugu movie with a major part of the story and characters involving Bengal. In fact this dance (along with many other scenes) is shot inside the premises of the very famous Dakahineshwar Kali temple of Kolkata. The dance recital was also depicting the story of Mahishasura Mardini- the form of goddess Durga that's worshipped most in Bengal.
The whole temple complex was a set created due to COVID restrictions to shoot in Kolkata.

Please don't watch this movie with a high expectations. The movie itself is great and cinematography is great. Great acting from every actor. Don't miss the period part which is very powerful and soul of the movie. Also the period part shot in Kolkata. So Rick it's a bonus ☺️

@@gamerdude3126 Yes you are right. Stating facts is one thing. But there is over engineering and exaggeration of things - like devadaasi's etc. Casteism is a different thing. Imposed by colonial system and followed by politicians for obvious gains, Vedas tell about Varna system which is fundamentally different from casteism. Let's not even go there. What I am against is the liberty that's being taken to exaggerate things and shown in bad light. Would the same actors and directors do thr same thing on other faith? I doubt it.
I’ve been really getting into South Indian films and the way they mix their culture into their stories is literally tear jerking this film was so emotional a love that transcends death 😭

I hope one day all movie industries merge into one industry and call it indic film industry. All films will be produced in all 22 official languages.

If such merging happens then bollywood will subsume each and every industry and throw out its own versions after destroying the rest. Keeping every industry individual is the key to protecting diversity. If anything, every industry must have more financial freedom.

Even if the languages will be different, local and rooted jokes/references will more likely be replaced with something having a pan-indian appeal. I think it is best kept the way it is. But people have to change their north-south differentiation mindset and respect each regional industry👍

this movie is BEAUTIFUL. Bengal portions were just pure top-tier artistry. the beginning of the movie is a kind of meh but once you get to the Bengal setting the movie is terrific. Nani’s acting was just amazing and Sai Pallavi was awesome as usual.

If you guys are wondering what dance form it is, it's bharatnatyam, with some chauu(odisha folk dance) and odissi and kathak( the spins) thrown in the mix

But fair warning - it is almost a different movie in its two halves, so endure the first half, you'll get treated to a beautiful second. Sai Pallavi lights up every frame she is in, and Nani slips effortlessly into characters.

Finally you guys are about to get on the Sai Pallavi train!! 😃😃 With the number of people who recommended the Malayalam movie Premam to you from Romance Month, I really hope you're gonna watch it. It was her first movie. Otherwise, I (and others) also recommended the Telugu romcom Fidaa, where she is the lead and it was a big hit. But Premam would be more your thing as it's technically more flawless. As to this movie Shyam Singha Roy, I'm planning on watching it tonight, I'll let you know my opinion 😊
It's about time our Bengali industry too pays tribute to South Industries and culture in general through such beautiful movies. But to be honest, we donot have the budget. Sadly one of the most progressive film industries of it's time has almost come to ruins now, thanks to "Bollywoodisation". We do have directors and actors who shine like diamonds in coal, but most of what is left is trash. Good movie btw.

More than the dancers and the dance performance…can we talk about the camera man and his cinematography. omg how maravellous it is that we are able to enjoy this to 100 percent. Imagine this dance perfromance set with a single centre shot and inbetween little shots of the audience ,it would look like a excellent cultural dance performance from colleges or schools . Ps: i am not degrading any dancers here. I am just comparing for the sake of the cinematographers performance.

This movie is a good one time watch. Especially if you plan to watch it in Romance month. After a long time did I see a movie with such great romance and chemistry between the main leads. I really thought romance was dead in Indian movies till I saw this movie. Really made me realise why I loved romance movies so much in the first place.
Do give it a watch, it's available on Netflix. The cinematography is breathtaking. Especially in the period part. And the lead actors Sai Pallavi and Nani were incredible in it.

Every time I see Rick. He reacts in such a way that he is a great producer or critic to this entire Bollywood industry. He is a great judge. In his every reaction there has to be a sort of comparison of Bollywood with Hollywood... He should understand Bollywood is unique... If Indian dancers are good he starts compare them with Michael Jackson... If some great artists are there in India, then he starts comparing them with Hollywood ... Why ???? Fyi .sai is not even bharatanatyam dancer but she justified the pranavalaya song so gracefully .I watched this song like many times just to see her dance. N the whole movie .she danced like an angel. All songs so great in this movie..she s a doctor as well , her dance might cure all her patients.
