    Dude this is super rad! I was honestly dreading doing horns because I need to do a feel variations and the way I know to do them is really time consuming. This takes so much of the pain away! Cheers!

    Thank You Very Much! :) I did not even know that tool is existing
    Just a few questions: how to retopology such a horn with difficult shape? Or is every single peace are in different polygroups? (If the horns are in very crazy shape (very ruff texture or spikes everywhere, do I have to make topology smooth or along the shapes of a ruff objects?)
    If you keep horns as a separate subtool, how it will affect in rigging and animation? (Say the horns will move along with the head, even if they are not attach to head mesh?)
    I made a horns out of character’s head (with Zspheres) , but confuse now how to make a right retopology, since the shape of the horns is very crazy and for low poly it will require too mane polygons
    Thank You 😁

    This could be used for wires, couldn't it? Or is there a more efficient tool for wires in Z-brush?

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do wires easily with this. Just use a long thin cylinder with plenty of edgeloops and apply the bend curve deformer to it. I did it with several characters with tubes and wiring.

  • @leerobinson186

    Great video. I have a problem though. When I get the scale section, it scales the whole length of my horn, instead of tapering it. What have I done wrong. My model began as one section of horn.

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only thing I can think you're wrong is using the wrong deformer. You should be in the Bend Curve Deformer, be sure you've got it going in the right axis and click on one of the points then you should see some more controls for scale, squeeze, and twist. th-cam.com/video/DN-FvCET_WM/w-d-xo.html

    • @ocamponeis
      @ocamponeis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'm having the same issue. I'm using Bend Curve and for some reason whenever I try to manipulate the point on the tip of the horn, the point in the base act together. Like if I try to scale one side the other is affected as well. I managed to use tapper deformer to create the tip but I'm still having problems to curve horns because the points don't work independently like you do in 9:22 , the base point always move with the tip's point :/

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll experiment tonight. There may be a symmetry switch on that deformer that might be turned on

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Like I suspected. There's a symmetry switch on the deformer. It's the little green cone, it controls symmetry off the curve. Set it to 0 or off. Now you should be able to scale points independently

    • @ocamponeis
      @ocamponeis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Glenn3D1993 thanks, man! I did some workarounds to get the horns, the extract part was a great idea and I didn't knew about the multiple copies pushing and releasing Ctrl key. It was very helpful. 😄 I'll try to check on this symmetry on the deformer later anyway. Thank you again your tutorial was awesome. 🙏

    Glenn, do you also provide Zbrush modeling services? I have a customer that may need this type of work done referencing 3D scan data and they are looking for a source

    • @Glenn3D1993
      @Glenn3D1993  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guess it depends on Timeline and what they're needing. My schedule is little crazy till 1st of the year

    • @teamsweetstick
      @teamsweetstick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Glenn3D1993 not anything urgent at this point but sometime in the future they may need this type of service work done and would like to point them in a direction of someone that can and wants to do this type of work. It would mostly be modeling a tine on a antler set that has been damaged or broken off.

    somehow I can not select a polygroup with ctrl+click like in 4:40 in my case the axis gizmo is at some range outside the subtool. Also now I have problem cause it has all the same gray color not a purple like in your case. I wish you all luck
