    About Young Sheldon:
    It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

    How was Sheldon able to appear on television without Mary and George knowing about it ahead of time? He was a minor, so he should have needed his parents' permission.
    The one possible loophole for this plot hole is the fact that Connie was there. Could she, as a grandparent, have given the greenlight for Sheldon to appear on television?

    I am from France, and even though we are a capitalist society, we have certain elements of communism that we have deemed correct. These elements do not prevent us from living in a capitalist society. However, they prevent us from going to the American capitalist extreme, which, like any extreme, has its flaws. We have found a middle ground between both extreme

    That’s not communism though. If anything, consumer control over production is kind of a feature of capitalism, since products won’t sell unless people want them

    • @noa4ly425
      @noa4ly425 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Depends on what you mean by “consumer control” though, I would say. If you mean indirect control in terms of consumers buying less of a certain product, therefore forcing corporations to innovate and improve I would agree with you. That’s how supply and demand works.
      But what Sheldon is advocating for is centralised control, meaning that supply would be controlled by a government (representing the people). I guess you hypothetically could replace government controlled supply (representative democracy) with people voting directly for what products should be produced (direct democracy), but that would just cost way too much since the people would have to vote for thousands and thousands of products individually, and that would just be a nightmare economically and administratively. So what you end up with in the end is the socialist planned economy model that had been tried in countries like the Soviet Union, and I just don’t think that’s something we should take inspiration from.

    • @NickGecko
      @NickGecko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First he talks about central planning, second people could want a product because they think is the best they could afford/take(maybe the alternative is far). That has two problems, 1 they could be wrong, 2 even if it really is the best in their opportunities if there are low alternatives they will take that anyway. Homeopathy, petrol car in 2023 and products with obsolescence programmed to few years, to make examples, are a result of this policy. Free market it's a good tool but it could be improved by regulations.

    • @noa4ly425
      @noa4ly425 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NickGecko And what would such regulations look like in that case? Sheldon's main complaint is that the quality of certain products doesn't meet a certain standard. How exactly would you regulate the market in order to achieve those aims?

    • @NickGecko
      @NickGecko ปีที่แล้ว

      @NOA4LY on the production process there already regulations actually, expecially in the EU there are a lot of them. And consumers have today power of negotiate price and quality with several associations that talk with corporations and with the government. Personally I think these things should be extended because it's clear that they are not enough, so much social, health and environmental issues because the focus of the dirigent class is always less on society as all (especially after the Keynesian period). Probably there is also the need of discussing the standard governance system and educate with altruistic values the dirigent class. Then there is the problem that free market without regulations take to oligopolies (look Samsung that controls several sectors in Korea and alone make more than 20% of the GDP) and to low spread of wealth, but these are other subjects.

    • @NickGecko
      @NickGecko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @NOA4LY anyway planned economy doesn't work as you described (I do not support it). The system in the Soviet union was to give to each "supermarket" the same amount of products, it was not ideal and in fact they have often problems to supply the places. They lack for exemple of the knowledge that some products are more consumed in certain areas. So there are places with a lot of meat and no bread and viceversa. If we want a system of distribution better than the price-market system or at least alternative, we have to found another system of allocation of goods. Maybe by plan your bought a week before and communicating it to a center supermarket-like? It will take to less waste probably and more jobs but I can't say if it would be as effective to supply all places enough.

      Contrary to belief actually Communism focused on those oppressed by the high class , those who were homeless , illiterate, deprived of Education because they were poor or couldn't afford it or Gender inequality. For example with The Cuban Capitalist Government the Illiteracy In the country was around about 95% only the top could read when Communism took place Homelessness dropped to 95% and literacy [being able to read] rosed to 97%. As they were given right to have a home and Education and equality for all. I'm from LATAM and my Countries Honduras and Costa Rica and the rest of LATAM Capitalistism was turning us upside down the U.S was killing my people and hanging Indigenous people because they didn't agree with Capitalism apart from that the U.S wanted to uphold Slavery as well by establishing a Coup in Nicaragua. Although the entirety of LATAM has suffered more than 100's of Coups. So we don't see Communism in bad light. Back then Countries like Venezuela, Bolivia , Cuba were the only ones with Communist Governments that number has grown and now we have 10 Countries with Communist Governments which has helped us go forward. My Country recently accepted a Female President named Xiomara who's A Socialist and her first rule was to give everyone free energy and light (majority to those that lived in poverty) and tackled Military Coups send by the U.S and Drug Traffickers send also by the U.S. Salvador isn't Communist but it's very Anti-American , The Salvador president is seen as a Dictator by the West. He Took charged by Jailing all Gangs and everyone involved in drug Trafficking and the U.S complained about "Human Rights" pleading for the life of Gang Members same ones the U.S has been selling Drugs to and ruining thousands of Families.
