  • so many of you asked to see a video of my first day back to work after baby, and it was so hard to say goodbye to the kiddos! but overall, i had a great first day and so far this week is going really well. we're all just adjusting to our new normal. :) i decided to do it what i ate wednesday style, because since i work from home, it's pretty much me working in my office all day. i am pumping 3 times while I work, and i started drinking mama nursing tea to make sure i'm pumping enough milk to send with baby P every day, and it helps so much! i had to share this with you guys, in case you're looking for a way to increase your milk supply.

Awww...my daughter is 7 and sometimes I still cry when I'm away from her. I work weekends (still 40 hours in 3 days!!!!!) while she's at her dad's house. I'd rather work my butt of for three days so that I can be a sahm throughout the week. Your doing great and setting a great example for your kids!!!!!

I was literally in tears when your kiddos came home! I'm a stay at home mom and I can't imagine the struggle you had watching them leave for the day. Just keep thinking this is for them to have better lives and you are an amazing mom! Strong mommy you are!

Since you work from home, have you thought about having an in home nanny? I used to nanny for a woman who worked full time from home, but I came over everyday to watch the kids, pick up the house, do laundry, take the kids to the park or pool or sports activities. It was nice for the kids to still be home, and mom still got to eat lunch with us or pop in for hugs and kisses. Most the time she was in her office with headphones in getting her work done. I know you have GG, but something to think about 😊

The Halfway Housewife yes!!! I was a nanny for a mom that worked full time from home and watched her 10 month old. She could nurse him whenever and see him anytime :)

The Halfway Housewife I totally agree. I did the same thing, and it worked out being a lot cheaper then daycare. Cry all you want Brianna. I don't have kids, but I can't even imagine what you are going through.

American moms are tough as nails! I had an entire year off and cried and cried my first day. Hang in there. You are killing it! Also, thank you showing what "working" mom's go through. It's really hard.

Living Large on a Budget I wish I could have a year off. I would be more comfortable with sending her to daycare at 1 then 3 months. But it's life 😟

SxyGrl44 I’m so sorry! It’s just unfair but you just have to do what you have to do! Sending you hugs.

I feel you totally. This is so heartbreaking but I thought the whole incentive of being able to work from home is that you get to be with the kids. How about bringing your childcare into your house so that you can pop in to nurse baby directly during feeding time instead of having to pump? I agree pumping is the worst!

Like a lot of the comments here, I got tears in my eyes watching you struggle when they left. It is so ridiculously hard. I used to give myself 10 minutes to sit in the daycare carpark and cry. Then I would head off to work looking like a mess, not a hot mess, just a mess. You are a real sweetie and your children are beautiful, healthy and happy. Love your videos and hello from Australia!

Thank you so much for sharing! I am a first time mama and went back to work the very same day that you did. It was so nice to see that all of my crazy emotions that day were normal and to see you power through it helped ME power through it. I would LOVE to see more about being a working mama on your channel, there is not enough of that out there!

Im Heading back to work on 25 August after my 60 days maternity leave and it is a difficult and emotional challenge again . And again I had a hard time transitioning back to full-time working mom mode, all while my baby was in the care of strangers. The first day back was so hard. I cried through most of the day.

It is hard but I agree having a separate identity to "mum" is so important. I remember feeling awful the first time I dropped my son at daycare - I felt like I was giving him away to an orphanage! He is a thriving preschooler now and loves his mates at daycare 💗

It's so hard. I have a 2.5 year old, and I was the same way when I went back. I'm a teacher, so my hours are great comparatively speaking. The US needs to get with the program like many European countries that get 6 months to a year maternity leave. It's really not ok. Hang in there :)

I was a stay at home mom for 3 years and went back to work for the summer in may and it was so hard!! But so worth it because you definitely need that time to miss your kids and let your kids miss you. I'm so grateful I was able to do that for the summer and now my last day is Saturday since my munchkin starts preschool next week! It will get easier and you will feel a bit of relief when you get more used to it! You are awesome!! And I totally envy you for being a working mom of two!! Amazing!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

And the fact that you work from home, you get to do everything you can at home to prepare for them to come back, dinner, clean house etc. they'll be home before you know it! But it's really a problem for us moms not to get enough months with our baby. I cried and called everyday to check up on the kids. But on another note you're sooo awesome! Keep that in mind! Xoxo

I'm so glad to have found your channel! I have a soon to be 1 year old and one on the way and I feel like I would be reacting the same way you did once they left the house. I can't imagine being away from my little ones. My son recently started daycare and I'm still adjusting to it all. I miss him so much throughout the day. I would rather be with him but I have some major studying I need to in order to get licensed for future work. I've been home with him for the first year and I'm so grateful for the chance to do so, however for the second one I will not be with him or her as long since I will be going back to work. Even though there is so much time left before I have to think about this (baby is not due until May 2018) I'm so worried about it and I feel sad already = (
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experiences, especially as a momma of two. I'm so excited about becoming this as well and at the same time really nervous about it all! LOL

Loved this video so much. I'm only 19 and won't be having kids anytime soon. I've actually been told that I'm not able to have kids but your family gives me hopes and dreams ❤️

I hope your days are getting better! I go back to work on September 20th after being home with Nathan for 12 weeks. I am dreading that day. I am going to miss my kiddos.

    Brianna,
I apologize if you have already done this video, but I'm a new mom and I'm struggling with nursing friendly outfits both for weekends and at work. I'd love to see you do a video about nursing fashion.
Thanks for all your awesome content, your videos encouraged me throughout my pregnancy!

Hi Brianna! I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who was an emotional mess when I had to drop my son off at daycare for the first time! I love watching your videos. It makes me feel good to know I shouldn't feel guilty being a working mom! I did want to ask how you came about your work from home position? I am currently interested in finding something that allows me to work from home!
