Pootharekulu originated at Athreyapuram, East Godavari District. And now there are varieties of it as new flavors getting added. Most of them can be found in all the small town of Godavari districts. Also one more famous sweet from Godavari District is Kaja. There are 2 versions for it: 1. Kotaiah Kaja or Kakinada Kaja (From the city of Kakinada) 2. Tapeswaram Kaja (From the town of Tapeswaram) Again both of these place are at East Godavari District. Kakinada also famous for other food delicacies like Sea Food and Breakfast Varieties.

Kripal, For the last 30 or so years, dairy based sweets have almost driven out Maida and Besan based sweets with an exception of say Bundhi Ladoo and Mysore Pak and kaja. It was good of you to showcase old time sweets. Classic sweets are still loved by old timers like me.l Thanks for this video.

Oh old traditional sweets that are forgotten. In childhood dad's payment day was the day we got to eat these sweets, stilll he brings on his pension day. Todays generation have it around so easily but too busy with pizza and burgers. Don't appreciate these sweets. Thanks bro 👌

🤣 I remember eating putarekulu ....when my room mates gave it, I thought its paper casing on sweet and went to remove. But my roomies started laughing like hell looking at me🤣😂. G pullareddy provides one of the best sweets. Also taste kakinada khaja... I loved it when was in Hyderabad.
I have had the sweets at Pulla reddys at Banjara hills Hyderabad and it was fabulous. Though it is expensive compared to other sweet outlets in Hyd., it is really worth the money. Pootharekalu is an absolute killer and no one should miss this. Takes a lot of effort to prepare it

Pulla Reddy sweets are some of the best known sweets in the country. I used to regularly enjoy eating it during my stint in Hyderabad during the 80s. I was indeed tempted to eat some of their sweets, but they are not available in Mangalore. Do they sell online?
In North India we don't get 100% purity in sweets as compared to the South of India. Many people would troll me for this but it's a fact that the very famous Haldiram sells a lot of shit that looks good but doesn't taste top notch. I have completely stopped buying sweets in Delhi. I prefer making them at home
