Before partition, Trains from Amritsar to Ferozepur used to go to Kasur , then cross Sutlej river at Hussainiwala, then reach Ferozepur city. The old bridge was rail cum Road and was known as Empress Bridge. It was dismantled when a new Bridge was made. Punjab Mail ( one of the oldest train) used to go on this route from Peshawar to Bombay.
