Hi! Great vid as always Malin! Was wondering if you could maybe make a video about how Target Audience affects design. Like how it affects the graphics, brand choice, color palette, syle, tone of voice etc. I find it very difficult and was thinking you had some advice. Currently I'm making a fictional event brand for young men facing depression as my college project, but I'm not sure how to appeal to that demographic while designing. I often find myself going off track or not being able to justify my design decisions with the target audience in mind
That is a great question and I would love to make a more in depth video about it. I would start by seeing if I could find some articles about why men in your age range tend to be depressed and how some might be coping with it. Then you can see how other brands that address depression have used design - are they are trying to be serious, optimistic, focused on facts and so forth. There might be social media accounts or reddit forums where these men discuss how to cope with their mental health and how they like to talk about it. Maybe they like people to acknowledge how difficult it can be or focus on what they can do when they are having a hard time for example. Since many apps and telehealth companies focus on mental health, I would also look at how they use design and messaging to make their audience trust them. I hope this helps as a starting point 😊 If you haven't seen it already, you can check out this video I made on brand research: th-cam.com/video/V5SeUvCCndM/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Kayla Or this video from the recent series where I do brand research and then create a mood board: th-cam.com/video/JsMS3RrVHWY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Kayla I hope this helps, just let me know if you have any other questions at all 🙌
Hi! That is a great question. If you work in Adobe Illustrator, you can click to reveal the colour window and it will show you both the CMYK and the RGB code. You can also use conversion sites like this one: colordesigner.io/convert/hextocmyk I am making a video all about colour so I will make sure to cover your question in there are well! 🙌 I hope that helps! 😊
@@Kayla-app how kind are you. I tried that but for example the colors you used in last project I couldn’t find the same cmyk values. So please if you can explain that in your upcoming video
Hello, I am one of your subscribers and your videos are very helpful for me. I want to ask, how can I get a client for logo design? Could you also share how you acquire clients?
Hi! I'm so happy you find the videos helpful 😊 I would love to make a video on this because it is such a big topic with many answers. The short answer is to start with your own brand and decide who your ideal client is and then create a marketing funnel that works for your business. It can contain everything from going to networking events, collaborating with other creatives and posting to social media for example. I did make a Skillshare course on this topic called "How to consistently get clients for your design business" and you can find it here if you visit my profile after you sign up for a free trial. www.skillshare.com/en/r/profile/Malin-Lernhammar/161915345?gr_tch_ref=on&gr_trp=on I hope that helps, I'll make sure to create a video about it here on the channel as well! 🙌
