The small fern fronds you foraged are call Pikopiko in New Zealand. Pikopiko is an indigenous word meaning united. The design of the Pikopiko is called a Koru and is used in Maori artwork. Just a few random facts. 🌄

When the music was playing, I thought to myself “wow, I have never heard Amanda listen to music”. Then I thought, not good music for a headache. Then I saw your face…. It all made sense, sorry for the sucky people 😊🙏🏼
Boy oh boy, know the music scenario well. Fortunately I didn't encounter many times like what was on your video, but been there, (not there there, but other places, and it can sure deflate a nice tranquil camp as well a few times made me down right angry they were being so disrespectful of others in earshot of all their mostly wanting to get away from others shouting them down so they can be as you say obnoxious...and that is kind. It happens...almost as if Spring breakers away from supervision and rules as it were on a raging holiday to see who might be the biggest ass of the lot while in a place like where you were.
Sometimes at such times you hope for foul weather to dampen their desire to be the biggest ass of the area. And as well usually the ones leaving behind the messes that others (conscientious) will clean up as to look at the damage of the aftermath. Enjoyed the video. It did remind me of the times and there were a few like that and a couple even far worse. One nearly would have ended in me being physically harmed but for my companion who seem to put a fear in them to try to come into my camp.
P.S. on that,... don't do that on purpose. I lucked out. I had no idea their numbers were more at the time than I was aware, and a fluke my companion Duncan, knew to recognize bad guys from good guys and he seem to make bad guys uncomfortable to what he could do to them. And that was always enough thankfully. Sorry about that experience. I do understand the camping mostly toward isolation. It is so much more fulfilling and connected. But that's just me.(saying) we all have our own what's nice and what's obnoxious. That was obnoxious to me too....and that is the part I heard. They never end in a few minutes.🏆👍

I especially loved the photography of the water with the misty looking background scenery. Soooo beautiful and serene ! As well as your fiddlehead information. But, I had to laugh at your expressions when having to endure the wild one's chaotic music and energy! Laughing in recognition of the absurdity of it all. Some folks just seem to need to destroy beauty and can not hear nature's music. After you went to great lengths to find peace, tranquility to rest and restore you found an opportunity to exercise patience and forgiveness!! Well Done I think you passed this test! Not sure I would have! Gandalf will now let you on the bridge! LOL

I feel the same. It never ceases to amaze me that whenever I park up in the middle of nowhere someone will still manage to find me and camp right next to me regardless. I guess it makes some people feel more comfortable... but NOT me.... LOL !

once many years ago I was at a beautiful lake in B.C. with a few friends and there was a lot of other people around too. Everyone was respectful and quiet just enjoying the nature, then... the people with a big boom box come strolling in. they had walked all the way in from the parking lot blasting their music I'm sure I wasn't the only person annoyed. So I went over and politely stated that I had come to be out in nature without loud anything and they either left the area where we were or they shut it off. It was really long ago. Sometimes they just have no clue.
How wonderful that you met up with your parents Amanda. Looks like you all enjoyed it including the pup's. What sort of snake were they as I'm in the UK ?. I noticed that they was all together for heat ? Or were they mating?. Lovely to see you feeling much better. I would have been the same as you, a group of guy's n a solo female. Safety comes first. They are Garter Snakes, totally harmless and I often see them bundled this time of year so I think it’s a mating think but I’m actually not too familiar with snakes.

It feels like a risk to my safety to ask people like that to stop being ass holes. Being outnumbered by rude men is generally not a situation I like to be in so I tend to just tolerate it. In this case is stayed hidden in my doorway so they didn’t even know there was a female alone.

One tine my son and I went to a rustic campground and there were many sited to chose from. Some people set up across from us with generator and a big screen tv. Had it turned up till 2 a.m.. mine you, we were in a tent! So when we woke they obviously slept in late so when the few other campers had left I blasted my radio. When they wokw up and got out I said " hope you slept well".

You remember correctly, unfortunately Olivia passed away late last summer due to a rapid onset spleen cancer 💔

Awnings really provide so much more protection and shaded rain-protected area. Placing it over the camp table was such good foresight.
Loved the lake with the fog, and the TWO beautiful snakes. I thought the frog looked terrified, but I'll go along with you that it was in fact "chilled".

Hey you passed us on the way into Kamloops the other day! I recognized Truck from a distance! I was driving the 4runner with the lifted Micro Winnie trailer and the 2 canoes on it...with the bike and Jerry can and shovel on the back and the Alberta plates lol... Funny because we just spent the winter living in the Powell River bush. Does Frank go to Westview? That's Zora's Powell River vet, they're great. My parents and I have been really enjoying your videos while living our off grid RV life so it was really cool to spot you just before we left the area! Now we're almost in Ontario where we'll be looking for our new rural home, and we'll be watching while we drink our coffee in the morning! Safe travels! Oh and I loved the BRMB episode too, those things take me back to the good old days, navigating backroads with just them and an old Garmin hiking gps that didn't even have maps... Good times!

Wow it's so beautiful there and relaxing!! I wish I could be like you and travel around to all these amazing places! The van , camper bus etc life appeals to me so much that I wish I had planned something like this out before I broke my back , disabled and health issues arose. I like the quiet too & don't understand people coming into your space and changing this up , yes this is out in nature but if your group plans on being loud & partying which nothing wrong with that but at least be respectful enough to make sure the people you camp beside is ok with that cos not everyone goes camping for party time some just love the quiet , peaceful , relaxing sounds that nature brings and if they're not then at least go to another spot down the road. I really enjoy watching your videos .. Can you share the recipe your mom was cooking? You look like your Mom , beautiful! Oh and what was that you picked & cooked? Does it taste anything like brussel sprouts? I have no idea why I thought of brussel sprouts when I saw them and when you said bitter it made me wonder lol.. Looked delish once you had it all done with the eggs and rice right? Keep up the great work & thanks for sharing your adventures with us 💜🙏🌎

Love the videos! There are people that are in their own world and dont care or realise that they are having a negative impact on other people. Our local country park has its fair share of people who want to walk along shouting a conversation into their mobile phone and destroying the tranquillity for everyone! So annoyiong! What a great way to spend time with your parents and great to see Frank and his pal enjoying being together! Hope you are feeling better.

My wife is hard of hearing and we've never been that interested in listing to much music. We also don't watch TV . I think I like watching your videos because you don’t find it necessary to play annoying music. Thanks 😊. It is really refreshing to be able to hear you and nature.
Some really beautiful sites, sights. Did enjoy the video very much. I went to do a walk in a local park and simultaneously wanted to be distracted from my walk - but forgot headphones. I kept the volume on the lowest setting to listen to podcasts as I walked - but I still felt like the AH, just not enough to stop. :( So now a set of headphones will live in the car.
My cat is on a liquid steriod medication that I get filled at WalMart and my dog gets a pain medication filled at my local drugstore. It's a significant savings over getting them from the vet
