Wow, what a great adventure! Beautiful scenery and great edit. My dog also is a senior now and won't make more than 12Km a day but mountains are heavy for him, but Frank looks like he's in a good shape and so adorable. Thank you very much for sharing and motivating other hikers to go ut and explore with their furry friends, even if they are getting older. Stay safe out there. Best wishes, Mario
12km is a GREAT hike for a senior dog, this was about 5km and flat but he does have arthritis or I know he would be happy to do a lot more. Yes, old dogs like adventure too!

I recognize that parking lot! My kids and I hiked up to the top last year and felt like we'd tripped right into paradise. Camping on the beach is such a gift. And wolf prints in the sand. And bears on the trail. Memories for the ages.

Amazing views I love how the clouds reflect off of the water. That was a good idea to walk the the beach instead of going to threw the forest for Frankie's paws 🐾. Frank looks so cute 🥰 when he sleeping in. Crow Frankie didn't like. I too loved coffee ☕. Get's me started for the Day. Once again amazing beach views the waves sounds are so relaxing. What a fun trip; the quiet beauty of the island was soothing to my soul. I didn’t realize how big Frank was! I love how you pace yourself to allow him his dignity. We’ll watch you more often. “Luke” is my 96 lbs white German Shepherd, still a puppy at 19 months.

I love this so much and I love Frank! I am a solo dog mom to Chester and I relate so much to the way you have chosen to live. I have made a lot of choices to always be able to be with Chester ( work from home ) and this gives me the inspiration for us to camp....I always make sure we are in nature every day. I hear you about the mug issue. I also take an hour to drink my hot drinks. I found the lightest option is a 500ml SnowPeak double walled mug (at mec) with a silicoln reuseable dog food lid (dollar store) or aluminum foil, if your not afraid of spils.
Hiking in gum boots couldn't have been that comfortable ! You are tough !
